GT: Twins (53-29) @ White Sox (38-42), June 30
His argument changes based on whatever makes the white sox look worse. Its exhausting.

It's your insistence of breaking down every white sox success in a negative light that's the problem. You have to be absurdly negative about positive things for reasons I cant grasp.

Well, Yoan's numbers are much more sustainable unless you think Contreras is going to maintain a 30% hr/FB rate. So when mccann is better than those guys you say you wouldnt trade him for him... but no one would trade Yoan for Conteras but "Contreras is better" according to you. Weird stuff.

Zzzzzzz no matter what something negative has to be said about a white Sox guy... rinse and repeat.

Awesome. Theres more to base than OPS. And Yoan and Contreras WAR are near identical with Yoan possibly passing him today. You could argue for Yoan but for some reason you love to be negative and down about everything. My goodness.

Pal, are you even a sox fan? Jaysus.

McCann finalist for catcher for ASG
Why? McCann has a higher wRC+ than Sanchez this year. Home runs aren't the only thing that matters offensively.

White Sox to Call Up Palka
I think that's mostly physical limitation. You cant teach someone to do the things Ichiro could do with his hands or even madrigal. I feel great about madrigal because his bat to ball skills are unreal. When engel is fooled, he never adjusts his path to the ball - never can he keep his hands back nor can he redirect the bat path with solely his hands. The plane he is on is the plane he's on. Those are bad bat to ball skills. He has tried everything - different stances, hand locations, strides but it's none of those things. His hands and wrists just dont move with his eyes very well. That's not going to change. He's struggled through most of his minor league career too. But those two tools people love. He's McKay Chritensen 2.0.

If you look at their hands in an at-bat. Watch on a pitch their fooled on. Tim can change his hand path seperate of his body and he gets his wrists turned over when hes fooled so he can generate some power and not just he stuck underneath or pulling off (popping it up or weakly grounding). Engel is always in between, and his hands move so little through his swing path. Stiff wrists.

White Sox to Call Up Palka
Adam engel has no bat to ball skills. Never has. The reason why I never worried about tim anderson (incredible hands and wrists) is the exact reason I think adam Engel has no chance (horrible hands and stiff wrists).

Hand eye coordination is at the very center of athleticism for me - jmo. Hitting is pure and absolute hand eye coordination.

6/27 Games #CeaseDay

White Sox to Call Up Palka
I can't for the life of me see how someone could argue its "too early to call up Robert" while finishing their thought saying bring up Engel. Its amazing to me that people have concluded that Cordell is awful and should be demoted after 2 months of production as good as Adam Engels best 2 months in his big league career. Cordell likely sucks, but it is really odd to me how people want to say send cordell down and give up on him because he hasnt hit after like 167 big league at bats career but they want to bring up Engel who hasnt hit in 800 big league at bats.

Lol some of you love pain and misery. Adam engels problem isnt his batting stance.

White Sox to Call Up Palka
When quality pitches get tee'd because the balls are juiced and the parks are small it makes you lose faith in your stuff and self as a pitcher. I dont think that'll happen with cease fully but it hurts development and stunts it at that level so he may as well finish it here. He's going to experience the same stuff here but the outcomes will be more realistic to what he actually has to adjust to.

White Sox to Call Up Palka
because the run scoring environment in AAA right now is atrocious.

White Sox to Call Up Palka
No, I said if you start Robert's clock today you have him until his 29 season pretty much. He'll be 22 during this season. They would have him until he was 29. 22 could be as valuable as 29 to robert and this team.

White Sox to Call Up Palka
You thinking 30 is more prime than 23 is a hot take for sure.
-
White Sox to Call Up Palka
If hes ready hes ready. Pushing back Robert to have him for his age 30 season is likely pointless. Peak years are getting younger and younger. Skole sucks, no doubt but palka hasnt earned another chance. Palka is 27 and skole is 29. Not much difference in reality. I was a defense first baseball player - an outfielder at that. What palka does out there is offensive.

White Sox to Call Up Palka
He very clearly has + power. His exit velocities are high and he hits the ball hard when he hits it. But the power tool is worthless without anything else to support it.
-
White Sox to Call Up Palka
I find his outfield defense to literally unacceptable. Pair that with the rest of his shortcomings and he has no place here. If he worked counts and walked with his power then fine. But hes bad at that too. Robert deserves to be called up before Palka. Matt Skole deserves a shot before Palka again. Mendick deserves a spot. Anyone but Palka. People bash Cordell and Tilson - at least Cordell has two good tools and one average tool.

White Sox to Call Up Palka
Like who?
-
White Sox to Call Up Palka
His plate discipline numbers are horrid and his stint in AAA doesnt change that. He has no position - he is very literally one of the worst defensive players I've ever seen. He doesnt have a good hit tool. Hes not fast. His arm is dreadful. He has one tool. One tool players dont belong in the big leagues.

Yonder DFA'd
Palka is awful. Amazing how many sox fans still think he is worthy of a mlb roster spot

Who is going to pitch Friday?
One of the nicest men I have ever had the pleasure of spending time around. Billy was the FIL of my old man's best friend growing up - RIP as Jerry died before Billy at a young age. Billy was also my old man's little league coach. Billy played in a day when you had an offseason job. Billy was always upbeat and positive and overall a pleasure to be around. He was robbed of the HOF - he was better than Whitey he just played for some of the worst offenses in MLB history.
