Crochet having Tommy John surgery Tuesday
It's absolutely criminal how they handled Crochet. You can't have such a young pitcher throw at max effort under the intensity of a big league game and expect his arm to hold up. There's a reason why this is never done yet they continue to put their players in difficult situations all because Reinsdorf wants his cheap talent. This organization will never fucking learn. They just never fucking learn.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Vaughn, Kath and Rodriguez would get their attention.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
No doubt and they could use this injury as an excuse to keep him in the minors to get an extra year.

Strap on a pair, Hahn!

They could opt for Montas. Impact and fit doesn't seem to be the biggest factors to these guys. Years of control is and Montas has the extra year.

4th best rotation?
There are still a number of pitchers holding out for major league deals. These guys are going to have to settle for rminor league deals and I think the Sox will add a couple in the next few days.

Signing Mark Payton instead of Monte Harrison would be the Rick Hahniest move ever.

He has a groove swing. Pitchers will stop throwing it in his swing path.

Andrew Vaughn hurts hip pointer, out 1-2 weeks per White Sox
Athleticism, instincts, feel, experience. Vaughn played 1B for a reason and it's because he lacks the defensive ability to play a more difficult position. He looked like he was running thru quick sand. It was a routine play and Vaughn had to belly flop to make it while guys like Betts, Harper, Heyward, etc all catch that ball in their back pocket. Vaughn lacks the neccessary skills to be a big league outfielder and if he somehow avoids injury today it's just delaying the inevitable.

The criticism goes to the dumb fucks who thought it was a good idea to play him out there.

Jake Burger is actually pretty interesting
As long as Abreu is around there's no reason to trade Moncada but if for some reason he is not resigned they should trade Moncada the next damn day.

2022 MLB Draft Thread
I think the worst thing they can do is draft for demographic or position. This system needs impact players. It needs athletes with plus tools and high ceilings. If the best/highest ceiling player on their board is a HS outfielder great but if he's a HS/college infielder or HS/college pitcher they have to take that player. I don't think it's a good strategy for the worst system in baseball to pigeon hole themselves by drafting a certain "type" of player. They drafted a "type" of player during the rebuild and that's why they're in the awful situation they're in now. Taking the highest impact player is always the best way to go regardless of demographic or position.
