Strangely Hahn seems to run very hot and cold on talent evaluation. I love his acquisitions for the major deals of Sale, Q & Eaton. I love the McCann and Colome gets as well. Alonso is the other extreme. Hahn doesn't do all these deals in a vacuum. I wonder how extensive the talent evaluation team is.

When he is going good he pitches with aggression and is anxious to get after it. Going slow he totally loses that I'm in charge attitude pitchers need. Gio for example doesn't slow down to a crawl when he's in a jam.

He has reverted to his slow down the game mode. Just hate pitchers who do that. Fulmer does the same thing. The more they pitch like crap the slower they go.

I have said before that he is better IMO than what I expected. He has caught the routine stuff and actually thrown in a few surprisingly good catches. Eloy defense is very low on my worry list.

Yolmer & Garcia are fixtures in the every day lineup. Both really well suited to be bench pieces.

Thanks for the complete answer. He seemed a possible fit at age 28 and wouldn't cost a ton. I put on my rose colored classes and see him loving Chicago and our Cuban connection. I would like to fill this and the DH position through free agency rather than trade. Only cost money not prospects. Puig and Grandal seem to be good fits so far as age, our needs and probable cost.

What don't you like about Puig? Just trying to understand where people are coming from. Seems like others share that view.
