  1. Puig and Reyes would look good in White Sox uniforms. They don't seem to be nice guys but maybe we need some of that edge.
  2. They will be joined by a right fielder and DH. That's a lot of extra fire power.
  3. Five hits today for Madrigal. Oh my! Can't wait until Robert & Madrigal inject some life into our lineup.
  4. Yeah...just thought it a better idea than catcher.
  5. Pumping some new life into this lineup would give us something to be of interest. There is virtually no entertainment value in the current product.
  6. Right field...he sure has the arm for it.
  7. Madrigal has lots of tools in his toolbox.
  8. Signs of things to come.
  9. Boy...you don't know what to believe when everybody uses facts to make their point.
  10. If Dick Allen didn't pan out (your term) in WAR...that would be all the proof I would need to forget WAR as a meaningful stat.
  11. On the other end of the spectrum...Roland Hemond was very good.
  12. It would appear that WAR is flawed just like most baseball statistics.
  13. When Dick Allen hit some of those rifle shot homers the exit velocity must have been unworldly. You knew the second it was hit that it was "kilt." That's what is hard for me to understand...what new stat is it that surpasses traditional stats info in defining talent. Traditional triple crown #'s reflect power (HR's) and balls hit fair (BA) and balls hit well with runners on base (rbi's). Does the current WS team have someone better than I realize because traditional stats don't capture his true value? I do understand that a spray chart helps determine how to pitch to and defend a hitter, etc. Moneyball depicted finding these diamond in the rough players but I don't see real life examples of these dramatic discoveries.
  14. At the time I thought Tony overmanaged...meaning slowing down the game as he moved an outfielder three steps to the right sort of things. I guess he was on the cutting edge of todays shifting.
  15. Moncada good-Sox gonna be good very soon. Patience Grasshopper.
  16. Your eyes will tell you Jeter isn't a Gold Glover.
  17. If only all our players where struggling like Moncada.?
  18. Anderson and Garcia are good players that have trouble thinking smart baseball. Our constant near collisions on popups and flyballs almost always involve one or both of them. Both of them have me thinking great things about them one day and ready to give up on them the next. They are talented but really need to get their heads in the game.
  19. We are adding the equivalent of 8-12 quality players to the current team. Kopech, Robert, Madrigal, Rodon, Dunning, FA right fielder, 2 free agent rotation pieces and 2-3 FA relievers and a DH solution. Rick is going to be a busy boy.?
  20. I also believe that 2020 is the start of contending. This offseason needs to be productive for RH. I'll keep the faith until proven wrong.
  21. Engel has been a much improved hitter since his recall.
  22. We have a chance in this one. Lineup is about as good as we've got and a better starter than the Braves. Let's win this one.?
  23. When someone humbles themselves by asking a question in this forum...any question...they would like an answer. They don't need to hear that it's a stupid question or that any good fan knows the answer. It's an effort to be superior or in my opinion bully. The poster used the term "any halfway tuned in fan for at least a few years" and that sounds a lot like he thinks very well of himself. Gregg, since you take a fair amount of heat from some of these site bullies...I would think you would recognize their tactics. Many good posters no longer post because 3 or 4 know it all posters take these aggressive postures.
  24. Bevington would make Ricky and Ventura look like baseball savants.
