  1. What a pleasure to watch Glasnow pitch today. Get the ball...throw the ball. For a team that saw Mark Buehrle work for years you would think Coop would insist on an up-tempo game plan. I felt the Rays looked to have energy on the field and on defense. Can you imagine waiting at your defensive position on a cold rainy day with your pitcher putzing around. I suspect those off target throws from the infielders to Abreu are sometimes causes by the tempo of the game. It's bad enough to play poorly but is it really necessary to play poorly so slowly. Since whatever our pitchers are doing doesn't seem to be working it wouldn't hurt to try. I lasted 8 innings before I couldn't take it anymore.
  2. I understand the mechanics of hitting. What is puzzling is coaching not insisting the player learns the skill of pushing a ball through that massive hole. Every player who gets an exaggerated shift practice rolling the ball up the opposite field line. You would think would reduce to size of those shifts. Just like bunting---some guys just can't do it or don't want to. Some power guys says that's not why their paid the big bucks. I think OBP is more important HR's.
  3. I wish our coaches would work on the pace some of our pitchers. Nova was unwatchable. I had trouble staying awake. Can only imagine how fielders are attempting not to day dream.
  4. I agree with your analysis. When fans see the opposite field gaps (you could drive a truck through) it's hard to imagine why every hitter doesn't take a free hit or two every day. Must be harder than it looks.
  5. Second giolito start was more the old gio. On the positive side 4ks in 4 innings isn't terrible but those walks of course were way too much. How was his velo?
  6. A great day to let the BP to get some work. Stay positive.
  7. A bomb by Yoan and we can get back in this.
