  1. I hear 3 run homer and I immediately think of Earl Weaver. He didn't believe in small-ball like bunting a man into scoring position. He frequently pontificated that you only get 27 outs and he didn't believe in giving any of them away. Pitching, defense, and the 3 run homer got him into the HOF.
  2. Credit to TL for pulling Keuchel after getting his 5 innings out of Keuchel and making the switch. We've seen the attempt to get 1 or 2 more outs fail often enough this year.
  3. He looks good out there. Much improved IMO. I understand injury concerns but Vaughn and he have to play somewhere.
  4. I agree...if getting the call right is the important thing... then automated balls and strikes are in our best interest. If my calculations are correct...we will be getting about 2 dozen additional calls in our favor per game.
  5. I was at the game for the Iguchi HR and the crowd went nuts to the point of the stadium actually trembling. Total euphoria. It was that moment I thought we would win the WS.
  6. A few more heart-stopping games like this one and many of us will need a life coach.
  7. Rodon would get my vote hands down and I agree with you adding Vaughn to this list. All the names on the original list are worthy of honorable mention and show how many contributors we've had. Virtually every player being mentioned has had a hand in several wins at a minimum.
  8. I have been a fan of the WS for over 65 years. This had to be one of the 5 most memorable games in my lifetime.
  9. I hope that is the reason for such a pathetic effort. No matter how you look at it...6 blown saves are not very good.
  10. I had to use the internet to find out what an Everton is. Soxtalk is very educational.
  11. Kimbrel would be the obvious choice IMO.
  12. When have you ever seen a ninth-inning like that? Unbelievable!!! Huge walk by Z.
  13. To be fair...he is generally well thought of.
  14. Wow!!! What a great job of pitching with our backs up against the wall.
  15. Money is as good as in the bank.
  16. Lynn makes me feel like a professional lipreader.
  17. We should frame this and hang it on Tony's wall.
  18. The team voted to visit the Mall of America...just a guess.
  19. I have never understood why so many managers like using a Sunday lineup approach. A team has bench players throughout the season filling in for the regulars as needed. They get playing time in blowouts and game situations like pitch hitting and running along with defensive substitutions. When a regular needs a day or two off...give it to him. These lineups that feature 3 or 4 regulars out at one time are like forfeiting the game.
  20. He is a five-tool player. I love when he is on the field.
