  1. I hope the Sox win the World Series for many reasons. Among them... (1) Reinsdorf hopefully goes away especially if he can't get buy-in on a 2022 work stoppage like he did in 1994 and almost destroyed MLB. (2) TLR has his Cooperstown plaque updated and goes away. (3) Some owner is dumb enough to make Hahn President or EVP of baseball operations and he goes away. (This one is least likely since Hahn's legacy is already cemented with FTJR for Shields.)
  2. TLR's Lineup falls off a cliff after Eloy.
  3. Because the offense is hero-ball centric.
  4. See how hilarious it is the September day Cleveland overtakes CWS.
  5. The Kimbrel refugee from Clark and Addison has been an abject failure as a set-up man. If the Reinsdorf cabal doesn't succeed in causing a 2022 work stoppage, this experiment is coming to an end as soon as CWS are excused from the post-season (if they get there).
  6. Hahn is part of the problem. His skillset doesn't lie in the field of evaluation of sports talent. No owner will ever make him President or EVP. Better off at Amazon than 35th and Shields.
  7. And Dear Leader resides on 35th and Shields.
  8. And Dear Leader resides on 35th and Shields.
  9. A bunt and a fly ball and they got the lead. I have no idea what TLR is doing.
  10. I hated the Kimbrel trade when it was consumated and I hated even more now. Two closers on the backend just doesn't work.
  11. I wish those two overrated, overpriced closers were sitting at home
  12. A team thisclose should have been far more aggressive at the trade deadline than they were. Imagine the Sox with Bryant and Votto. Not gonna happen with this ownership. The path to the World Series is going through the East. The Sox had to be constructed to deal with that reality.
  13. If Hendriks and Kimbrel change places there won't be many games to save. As many times as Kenny-Hahn has been torched by Billy Beane, I would have wondered why Beane decided to take a pass on the so-called best closer in the AL. I wonder no more.
  14. Sox don't have a setup man or a closer
  15. Billy Beane didn't exactly go out of his way to keep him.
  16. It's been that way for decades because of the way this organization is operated. Until that changes what you said will continue to be the case.
  17. I'm not overly concerned with what the Sox have given up - although Nick was my favorite. Their "saving grace" is only one player drafted since the unfortunate acquisition of the Sox by that Reinsdorf cabal has made it to Hall of Fame. The second may be Chris Sale but I doubt he'd go in donned in White Sox regalia. The third will be FTJR if he remains healthy. But that was an international signing, not a draft pick. By the point of his HOF induction, FTJR won't even remember who signed him originally. FTJR laughs at Sox management incompetence just like a certain QB in KC does with the Halas Hall management. The Sox had no clue who they signed and let get away. Now I would be concerned If Marco Paddy has/had anything to do with the players they trade. Marko has more skill at talent recognition in his toenail than Hahn could ever imagine possessing.
  18. So kind of you..
  19. No he isn't. He is businessman who figured out a way to own sports teams and make googobs of money without being remotedly competitive. Affluent yes. A sportsman - hardly. Reinsdorf would have played out eans ago in any other major city except Chicago. The bar is set incredibly low in this town. One championship in 40 years - all of you apologists just need to quit. And there are some on this board far more poignant in their disdain for this ownership group than me. If you enjoy this product on the field and envision it as a perrenial contender, you better include ownership that is wiling to PAY for the realization of that vision. I truly enjoy Soxtalk. It's actually a hoot once you get past the projection, the strawmen, the gaslighting and the ad hominens.
  20. That"s why the Yankees peddled him off on Kenny-Hahn. They knew he had a low ceiling. Just because Reinsdorf doesn't spend on elite scouts and on-field difference makers doesn't mean other ownerships don't. Sox fans are going to be in catatonic shock when they finally experience what is like having affluent sportsmen running the organization. It will happen because Reinsdorf can't / won't spend to keep this team together and / or improve it.
  21. Brian silenced his many sorry ass detractors on this board today. The bat flip was for all of them. I friggin loved it !!
  22. Methinks Rey-Rey has found his niche. Too bad they didn't bring him in last evening.
  23. Lazy and uninspiring performance. He thought he could coast. I thought Cease was the weakest link. Not after this game. Totally agree with you.
  24. Outstanding post
