  1. After getting TA back yesterday, the lineup looks very strong. Just need to get a few guys going. And the pitching looks very solid. I'm not that worried.
  2. The main reason we lost the game tonight is Bieber, period. But boy, it's hard to look at that lineup and say that TLR gave his team the best shot at winning. I can't for the life of me figure out why Williams and Lamb are hitting 5th and 7th tonight. A week from today they could both be without a major league team and no one would be surprised. It's a real headscratcher. I'm not that bothered by Crochet coming in. It's not like Hendriks has been lights out. Also you could move Moncada to the 2 spot, or down in the lineup. But without Moncada hitting, and Eloy out, this team isn't going anywhere. Doesn't matter where TLR puts him in the lineup.
  3. I'm a little concerned that Luis Robert is actually not that great at hitting.
  4. Can we stop with all the suggestions that Moncada is soft? In the last three seasons, he has basically played the same number of games as Tim Anderson (actually a few more). And he seemed to have toughed it out last year while dealing with COVID. Moncada appears to have elite level athleticism, but he couldn't even run the bases last year without being totally gassed. From me, he actually gets credit for toughing it out, even when he couldn't put up 2019-type numbers. But that's just me, and doesn't mean Lamb isn't useful depth.
  5. My gut says more credit for this should go to clubhouse leaders like Tim Anderson and Jose Abreu. But TLR could be part of that.
  6. Sorry for the random response, but Kyyle I just noticed your signature block, and wanted to say that I was at that game. I think it was at the metrodome eh?
  7. I thought the most encouraging thing was seeing Moncada swipe second base. He looked healthy yesterday.
  8. Some of us come here to get updates about Spring Training.
  9. Went back and watched Zodiac on the weekend. Really great.
  10. I think people are more likely to remember the tough innings Colomé had, but don't really remember all the clean, or almost totally clean innings he had. Last year he had 21 (i think) appearances. In 8 of those appearances he faced the minimum number of batters. Additionally, i think he only allowed more than 2 baserunners 3 times. So pretty clean. Obviously, he may come back to earth. But do I think Hendriks is worth 2.1X what the Twins will pay Colomé this season? No.
  11. Good for him. It's a long shot. But he's the type of player that could do it. Love Nicky!
  12. Is it possible to get a "secret" pardon?
  13. By my quick research, the 33% approval rating he got in that Quinnipiac poll is the lowest national rating he has received in a single poll in over 800 days. An outlier poll from Long Island University gave him a 29% approval rating on October 22, 2018.
  14. As much as it might feel nice to see people getting punished, I would encourage everyone to ensure the links and posts they are sharing are verified in some way. I don't believe there is evidence this woman (or the couple) were involved on January 6th. The same account seems to show that this was a removal about mask wearing.
  15. In their defense there wasn't a lot of clear evidence of that early on in the crisis. Now there does seem to be some evidence of complicity by individual officers in addition to incompetent and unprepared leadership (or worse). It's also possible that on tape cowardice or retreat looks like complicity. I am not trying to minimize what happened. This was a massive failure. But I think it's okay for some to want a bit more evidence these days before coming to frightening conclusions.
  16. If you are going to make claims about the election you're going to need to at least try and present some evidence of that.
  17. Teams I've seen in person: Minnesota Twins new and old stadium. New stadium is beautiful and in cool spot to go night hopping afterwards. Milwaukee Brewers. Decent stadium. Cool tailgating before the game. But stadium is basically in the Burbs. Kansas City Royals. Cool stadium. But super hot during the peak of summer. Ballpark is also in a boring area. Basically in a massive parking lot with the Chiefs stadium. Not the greatest. Saw the Washington Nationals. Can't remember much except walking back to our hotel after and walking past Congress. It was beautiful. Couldn't ever see it becoming what it was yesterday. Saw both the Mets and Yankees. New Yankee Stadium. Mets are meh. We liked that we could see all the planes taking off from LaGuardia. Yankees were fun. Saw the White Sox of course too. It was Grateful Dead night. Oddly enough I haven't seen a game in Toronto. I live not far from there now, so hopefully I see them soon. I was also in Arizona for a trip last January before COVID. There was obviously no baseball going on there, but I visited the field and had a beer at the TGIF inside the ballpark just to see it. I remember the Luis Gonzalez WS winning hit there very well. I don't think I'm forgetting anything else.
  18. Wouldn't impeachment take too long? Doesn't the President have a right to put up a defense on the Senate side, since it effectively functions as a trial?
  19. So did Pence do that part where he says Biden has been elected President?
  20. Hitler and the Soviet Union were both pretty serious threats...
  21. Pretty pathetic crowd... is this from today?
