  1. Okay I will bite on this question Krankin is asking about Russia and 2016. Sorry to be long winded... I'm not sure Trump and his people technically colluded deliberately with Russia. But I believe some of them were so inexperienced, inept, and so completely ignorant of the national security implications that they actually became entangled with hostile agents. Did Trump say some dumb stuff that allowed people to accuse him of colluding? Yes probably. Remember when he said “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing”? So that's probably on him. A serious politician with a keen sense of national security would never say something like that. And I don't think my conclusion is raving of a crazy leftist. It's probably a rational and reasonable concern. I thought that is essentially what the Muller investigation found. So I went back and looked at it now, and provide this summary of conclusions of the Muller Report: Russia did interfere in an election and it was "sweeping and systematic. That members of the Trump administration welcomed the interference as they believed it would benefit them There were some links between people in the Trump campaign and individuals tied to the Russian government. And some of these individuals lied or obstructed the investigation into these ties. On top of this, it is my belief that at least one individual close to Trump (Rudy Giuliani) is STILL, knowingly or not, working with people with ties to the Russian government. As explained in this article: https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/giuliani-biden-ukraine-russian-disinformation/2020/10/15/43158900-0ef5-11eb-b1e8-16b59b92b36d_story.html All that being said, I don't know if any of this had any material impact on the 2016 election. But getting caught up in this mess with one of your country's greatest enemies seems pretty serious no? Reasonable Americans could have serious apprehension about this story without being leftists. And now that I've written all this I can't remember how it is relevant to this situation.
  2. What is a Major League Information Coordinator?
  3. We're really struggling in some places in Canada again too.
  4. Just to be clear, this also isn't true: "CDC estimates that influenza has resulted in between 9 million – 45 million illnesses, between 140,000 – 810,000 hospitalizations and between 12,000 – 61,000 deaths annually since 2010." https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.html
  5. It's not either or. It's very possible Biden can still win, but by a modest margin. Or some conclusion that is messy where the winner isn't clear for a few days. Also at the pace of news Trump sets, it's possible that this hospital stay isn't even the most stunning event in the last month of the campaign. Also I'm not aware of any staunch allies of the US that aren't already stunned by the 'foolhardiness' of the US.
  6. Do we know that's accurate... he went to the fundraiser knowing he had COVID?
  7. True. And I'm not saying you were wrong. I'm just a bit skeptical about one tweet.
  8. Those ‘Doomsday Planes’ Have Nothing to Do With Trump's Covid-19 Test https://www.wired.com/story/doomsday-planes-trump-covid-19-test/ I was a bit fascinated by your post Balta so I looked it up. Seems like other sources aren't so sure the two things are connected.
  9. Yeah I don't think I'll ever really understand this move... If we were going to pull him so quickly why didn't we just start the game with someone we were really confident in? I also was mad when they gave Bummer they yank so quick. This was a very strange way to manage a game. Didn't Matt Foster start a game? I know he had a bad game, but I thought it would have made more sense to go with someone like him in advance of the game. All that being said... if your best guys are going to walk a ton of guys that's not really on Ricky. But alas...
  10. We seem pretty evenly matched with Oakland. So we have to play sound baseball today. I love Nicky Two Strikes, but he made at least 4 mistakes yesterday. I don't expect that from him today. But no unforced errors is required today. No extra outs and have to take every base available to us!
  11. I was wondering about Nuke as well. He goes back a lot further than me I think.
  12. Yeah those in-game interviews were a schmozzle, and I thought the pair of announcers were pretty boring. However, I thought they knew the White Sox pretty well. Knew the basic storyline on most of the players. Not terrible.
  13. Why does everyone put Madrigal in the two spot? He doesn't have much pop, so presumably you want him to hit before Tim so those early game solo homers become two run homers.
  14. I'm usually the optimist and I truly have enjoyed having the Sox to watch this season while stuck with this friggin' pandemic. But that move tonight was a fireable offence. And that's among a bunch of other head scratching bullpen decisions lately. If he doesn't redeem himself with a deep playoff run, I think the FO has to consider letting him go. Just wow.
  15. Yeah, I like Ross, but his WHIP over his last three appearances has been almost 3.00. And it's not like that is abnormal for him. He hasn't had a WHIP under 1.5 for a season since 2014. Not exactly sure what Rodon's role will be. But there's more potential there than with Detwiler. Too bad Cishek didn't work out. Hope Bummer and Marshall are good to go quickly.
  16. Another silver lining... We tested Crochet in a high pressure situation and he did well. I was worried about bringing him in in a key situation like that. But I figured RR needed to test him in a tough situation to see if he can be used in important spots in the playoffs. He got behind a couple guys, but fought back. One good takeaway today.
  17. He got a bit fortunate that he only gave up one run early. But you can't ask for much more from your #5 guy.
  18. Why do so many major leaguers struggle with running to first... sheesh.
  19. I remember when we were 10-11 and had no idea where the team was going. It wasn't looking great. Now we've clinched a playoff spot and people are losing their mind. Sure Mazara and Edwin stink. And we have some problems with pitching, especially with the injuries to Marshall and Bummer, but if a couple guys can get out of their slump, we can beat anyone.
