If all Krause did was say "yes" to JR's whims, what else would I conclude? Do you say no to your boss a lot? There's such a thing as carrying the cynicism too far.

Are you saying that Reinsdorf scouts, drafts and trades? Seriously?

Jerry Krause is looking less and less like an object of ridicule and more and more like a GM considering what's been trying to do the job since he departed.

DeJong to Sox
Like that great line from A Christmas Story, "Got a whole goddam team of utility infielders." But if you watch the TBS version, it's been cut out. Merry Christmas.

Either way, he went from our gascan to NL whiz when he went to the other league. Anyone remember which old Sox GM always tried to get two for one when he traded a player? Was that Frank Lane or Hemond? Five for one sounds like a winner if that's how these things are graded. Anyone r- Bummer to ATL

Bears may have been boring Thursday night, but NU and Illinois were anything but boring today. Two nice wins for the local guys.- Benetti to Tigers
As they say in matters of taste, it's a matter of taste. Joe McConnell for my 2 cents, "Old Timer."- Official NBA 22-23
And not getting that much playing time because there are better players at his position on the team.- Benetti to Tigers
Been seeing this for 25 years. It's gotta be on target sometime, right? Law of Averages don'tcha know..- Benetti to Tigers
Rational and welcome. A petunia in an onion patch.- Benetti to Tigers
Larrivee was a Packers fan. Rooney was a Cardinals fan. They both wanted to go where their hearts were. Ain't love great?- Cubs Thread 2023
That Halas story was very informative. I wouldn't call the author unbiased, but if the shoe fits...- Marcus Thames named Hitting Coach
Toughest job in baseball. And our needs are more power and less strikeouts, which are pulling in opposite directions. Good luck.- Mike Clevinger declines player option.

On the INT you're referencing he threw it behind the target to the DB. The other two were failure to read the defense. Either way the bloom is off the rose with him.- Tim Anderson Free Agency Discussion
Was being paid on potential and not worth the money to hand out $14M and cross their fingers hoping he remembers how to hit a baseball. My guess is Andrus until the new kid is ready. Can't blame the team and good luck to Tim on a reset for his on and off-field life.- Official NBA 22-23
Had the Celtics down 2-0 on their court in the playoffs when Rondo got hurt and then were swept out 4-2.I'm not sure that Coach D is any better a coach than Boylen, as dorky as Boylen may have looked.- Official NBA 22-23
He has a nice 3 pt % and can defend a little. These are not the skills of a PF, so he's playing out of position. Plus he looks lost out there and could use a sports shrink right about now. That's one but not all of the reasons the team has no inside presence.- 2023 College Football Thread
NU is 4-4 with an interim coach and a football program supposedly in tatters. Which is the same number of wins that they had in the last two years under Fitz.- Official NBA 22-23
Backup point guard playing at power forward bails them out. There's roster construction for you. Was DeRozan choking on those free throws or just out of gas?- Official NBA 22-23
Predictable and boring, it's what happens when management doesn't address the team's needs over the summer. Can't help but think that coaching has something to do with it.- Why the Rangers succeeded and the Sox didn't...
Funny, but they and I thought we had a gem in the rough that was derailed by COVID. He's spent the last several years proving us wrong. In the minors now, but numbers never so bad that he was a total wreck, except with the White Sox. Someday, maybe the light will go on.- Why the Rangers succeeded and the Sox didn't...
Too much obvious truth there to ignore, but it doesn't fit the party line. We do look a lot better if you compare us to the many other failures instead of the few successes. - Bummer to ATL
