With a payroll of $197M I'd place the blame at RH's feet. He did get JR to spend the money, so I give him credit for that. If I were JR, I'd be mad as hell about what he did with it.

How did every team misjudge Kwan and Madrigal so badly?

Grounded into an around the horn triple play this year. Slooooow. -
We're in agreement that the situation was so mucked up that a measure we know would fail in the long term was needed to attempt to right the wrongs of five months of bad managing.
-
For all you fans of the butt-kicking style of managing and the effect of Cairo's ultimatum to the team when he took over, what you're seeing now is the inevitable result when the shock value wears off. I hope the people you work for aren't butt-kickers.

Wasn't much, was it? Better stuff on this site or anywhere else for that matter.

Can’t Wait to Hear Hahn Lawyer Speak This s%*#

This has the ring of truth. Saying a payroll within a hair of $200 M isn't spending enough doesn't have the ring of truth. -

Irony is that on this site, he's covered with it. But not for all of us. -
The White Sox cannot be fixed by next season

Some of those bullpen flops (Graveman, Kelly, Bummer) throw filthy stuff but can't get enough people out to be relied on. That on Katz, IMO. -
Kwan's a rookie.

Lambert and Bummer are at the head of the line to wear this one. They should be publicly humiliated. (I'm not serious about that part, are you guys who are asking for this serious?) Whole bullpen needs to be taken apart and put back together for '23. Lotta wasted $$ that could be paying for position players. Robert had his best hacks in a while, if anyone gives a hoot in a rain barrel. Jose drove that tying single, unlike his seeing eye ground balls of past weeks. I didn't realize he went 6 weeks between homers. Sorry for using a counting statistic. He's toast with this team if I had anything to do with it. More guilt on the FO than the dugout for '22. And JR for shoving Tony down their throat. These guys pay the bills and have the power to impose their will. Why do they always seem to do it in the wrong matters?

Intense looking at GRF, but not for long. Radar looks like clear by game time.

You probably know this Lip Man, but it's an English adaptation of the 1898 Neapolitan song "O Sole Mio" and it pains me to say it but another English adaptation of it was a big hit in the 1950's for Tony Martin under the title "There's No Tomorrow." Now I've scared myself. Here's hoping there is a tomorrow.

And the Engel game. And the Gonzalez dropping Kopech's pickoff throw game. And the Hendriks can't make a 50 foot throw to first base game. All in the last few weeks. A litany of woe.

My confidence level in a sweep is lower than the Mariana Trench. But CLE was up 3-1 on the Cubs and choked it away. I'll take hope over reality any day.

Trubisky II? Ah, baseball's a better game anyway.

If he got a hit in G 2 or 3 then Ricky is still here. I can't get over that either. But he was the MVP!
-
You forgot smart as hell and not the right guy for managing a team. Excuse me, but Abreu's 71 RBI's batting where he does is not what I'd call clutch. Time to move on from him.
-
Tough move, but they need to do it. For once, they didn't leave the game on the bases today!
-
That's your way of looking at it. My way is that all but the collision injury were caused by being overweight and not stretched out. Edit: Didn't we all forget getting hit by a foul ball in the dugout?
-
I don't see much similar between Eloy and Tim. Except for ...oh never mind. Why don't we all watch a couple of cat videos and relax.

Ruling that a fielder has to stand where he has less chance of catching a baseball is idiocy. And all because the LHH's refused to take advantage of all the empty space they were getting left of 2nd base. And MLB let the hitters have their way!
