Golf/PGA TOUR thread
Good one. Weight distribution. There's a 60 yard chipping range at the local course here. I'll hit it today. BTW, I was having a devil of a time with fat and thin chips until I took my wrists out of it. But I'm an old guy and you teach young guys.

Blather. He knew everything and told it to Bob Woodward in their intereviews in February. It's all on tape. Google it and learn.

Hate to quote myself, but he reversed himself on the stimulus deal. That took about an hour.

2019-2020 Official NBA Thread
It could be OKC is strapped for cash and he headed for higher ground. And what you posted. I know a guy who is giving up on Coby at PG. Oh Hell, it's me. He could start by geting a rebound. Or learning to play in traffic without getting the ball chopped away by the guards. The Gallinari II post is right on. He ain't gonna be the new Dirk.

Sports Media discussion
She needs to be on TV because I think she's cute. Is that so wrong? ? Yeah, she knows her sports and is a professional broadcaster, too. But take the job if it's offered. I might start listening to Bernstein again.

Golf/PGA TOUR thread
I started shanking chip shots on #18 Monday. And I was chipping the best in 10 years! Post whatever you come up with, I gotta know. Wristiness was suggested to me one time as a cause by a great golfer/coach I know, but I took the wrists out of my chipping.

White Sox Post Very Strong Viewership Numbers in 2020
I'm getting tired of the AT&T houseguest slob in the bathtub. More ad money would help, but we need butts in the seats and eating Polishes with grilled onions.

Sox should replace Renteria with Ozzie Guillen
Ozzie could do eeny, meeny with his bullpen and win games in 2005. That means he's smart! A half season later the BP was floundering. Does that mean he got dumb, or that managers are as good as their bullpens? Either way, the Cubs once yanked Lou Boudreau out of the radio booth at midseason and replaced Charlie Grimm(?) with him. Might it happen here? God no!
-
Will the Front Office Fire Renteria?
I'm not blaming him, just saying that his absence hurt. This is a great thread that had a brief moment off the tracks for petty bolshoi but got it back together. It would have been unnecessary if Jose could have got a clutch hit those last 2 games. Still MVP, but... It would have been unnecessary if DK gave us 6 nice innings in game 2. BTW, the 'stros got to Bassitt in his next outing. It's all futile cuz we were not capable of winning more than a 3 game series. The post about RR being replaced at midseason. It ain't that crazy. Wasn't Lamont? I had fun this season. I hope you all did.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
(the quote about feeling better than in 20 years) The steroid he's getting, Dexamethasone, makes you feel better even if you're sick. They give it to cancer patients. The "dietary supplement" he's getting, Melatonin, is a hormone produced by the pineal gland (it's above your brain) that regulates sleep. One of the side effects of Dexamethasone is to keep you awake at night. The guy doesn't understand why he's feeling better! I guarantee with ~100% certainty that there will be a deal before election day even though he said there won't. His negotiation style is to go to the extreme, in public, and scare people. Who are we to say it doesn't work?

Crochet's arm fine
A soft tossing lefty? Yep. He does have that whip motion like Kopech that I didn't see before. Oh, rats.

Fire Ricky
Shoulda started deGrom but he's not on the team. So he picked a number out of a hat. You got a better idea? That one hurt but Heuer's still got a big future right here. That one and the failure of the offense in the clutch. We'll get 'em next year.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
He endured the usual two hours of hair and makeup and put on a suit and tie to get on the helicopter. I have the feeling he thinks it's not that serious. Or doesn't want us to think it is.

Bright side: No more debates to embarrass us before the world. Although the last one was a good time for me to watch my tape of Game 1 since I played golf during it. I did tell my wife to take good notes. They will get the best of care and be fine, let's hope.

We are mad at the wrong Rick
I wasn't here back then but Bassitt looked like a pitcher not a thrower even then. And he's obviously had great coaching. Take it easy on each other, men. I'm hurting too. We all knew in our hearts 2021 was the year. And now we know what we need for 2021.
-
AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER!!!
As long as Ricky remembers which end of the bullpen bench the roster filler is sitting at he'll be fine. We have a bunch of guys who can get outs! Come to think of it, that holds true for every manager. If their bullpen's got it, they look like geniuses.

Shoulda waited for a better spot. Maybe in Game 64 to get him a clean inning.

9-23 Game Thread: Sox @ Cleveland (5:10 PM)
The Bulls mean a lot to me, after the Sox, but my understanding is that the process of change began when Pax told ownership that they needed someone other than him in charge. Is that just what the public is being fed?

McCann's halo is a bit askew these days. Exposed by playing every day? Grooved batting practice fastball...at least elevate the damn thing.

Crochet
Q got 2 strikes and started pecking at corners when he was here. With the Cubs the wicked slider turned into a putaway pitch. So there's at least one pitching coach better than Cooper.
-
I agree with the Big Hurt about Robert
Can't hit the fastball if slider is playing with your mind. I saw him K on a slider that bounced in the exact middle of the LH batter's box. Get him to a shrink. Wouldn't hurt to see Engel in CF for a few days. He'd have made that catch. I know of a good shrink in Schaumburg, near the training facility.
