An interesting way of thinking about ballparks is one-off visits/destinations vs a place that you’re seeing the majority of your games. Most of my stadium experiences have been one-off visits, so I don’t really care that much about the logistics of parking, concourses or even seating. I’m just enjoying my very temporary experience. It’s why places like Fenway and Wrigley are so high on my list. I don’t think I’d love going to 10 games a year there, but it’s a really cool experience being there once or twice.

Yes and they’ve out homered their opponents 11-4 in the postseason so far. Are you saying they’d be in the same spot if they were smallballing their way through games?

How was Tiger Stadium compared to Old Comiskey? They always seemed similar to me, but maybe that was just a lazy comparison.

I think OP was referring to the defensive starters getting pulled early.

5 IP, 9 K. Maybe you were looking at the Guardians team total of 13 K? But still, you’re right that the dude is an absolute monster and a problem. He’s always had massive talent but struggled with inconsistency. Sure seems like he’s put it all together.

Tell that to the Dodgers rotation of Skubal, Yamamoto, Snell and Glasnow. You need pitching, but you also need to out slug your opponent.

Question to consider for offseason spending: If it’s between pumping more money into ops/analytics to “fuel the foundation” or spending more on FA’s, which would you prefer? Ideally it’s both, but, you know.

This has been said so so so many times and I’ve never heard one explanation as to what it actually means. Is he a dork because he wears glasses? Because he makes references?

Hell, look at what Vargas had to go through before he turned into anything. A lot of the board was completely done with him and now he’s the best player on a playoff team. I’m not saying Braden (or Colson for that matter), will have a similar experience, but we gotta relax on who’s a bust and who’s a future star.

For a team that should be expecting themselves to contend going into next season, I’m okay with slotting him in at the back end of the rotation and letting him eat innings. If he can regain anything close to his first half this year, let that be a big time bonus. I just hope they don’t expect or rely on him to be that first half guy moving forward.
