  1. Winnable, but whatever. Take the series win and move along. Really need to see them win a road series or two here.
  2. You’re confusing talent with results, which is my whole point. Giolito, Lynn, Cease, Rodon, Kopech, Hendriks, Kimbrel, Abreu, TA, Moncada, Eloy, Robert, Grandal and Vaughn all had tons of talent. They just couldn’t turn it into success. The 2024 team? That’s a team that actually had very little talent.
  3. I think this is my first time watching Kay pitch all year. Is he always this rough of a watch vibes wise? Works slow, nothing aesthetically pleasing about his game, and just kind of an uptight presence to him overall.
  4. No one actually knows how much of an effect Venable has, but I tend to believe he’s helping things along more than he’s holding the team back. It’s not like this is an underachieving team that’s oozing with talent but getting in their own way. (Ahem, 2021-2023 White Sox)
  5. So you’re saying the player’s ability ultimately determines how successful a move is? Ok, now apply that logic to the bullpen moves too.
  6. Excuse me this thread is for armchair managing, not facts and data.
  7. The Sox are not as bad as they look now, nor are they as good as they looked the past month or whatever. They’re a .500 team at best IMO. It’s fine. They’re still young, fun and clearly on the rise.
  8. Schultz is on a rehab assignment and should be back soon, but they definitely need more than him.
  9. True. So then they’re gonna need to start being at least a little competitive against good teams on the road to be taken more seriously.
  10. They’re gonna need to fix this home/road problem to be taken more seriously. At home, they’re 24-12 with a +32 run differential. On the road, they’re 14-22 with a -35 run differential. They’re just not a competitive team on the road for whatever reason.
  11. This team sucks on the road
  12. Have a feeling we’re gonna see a lot more of these kind of games moving forward with this pitching staff.
  13. Yeah I’m with you here. Most of the AL Central teams just aren’t all that interesting to me, especially with overexposure to them. As a baseball fan in general, I love getting to see teams like the Phillies that I otherwise don’t get much exposure to.
  14. I was surprised he made it out of last inning
  15. Fandom is so fascinating because we can see the exact same results and have completely different reactions to them. I’m over here thinking that I wouldn’t blame someone if they were elated to be competing with the team in sole possession of first place in the division after three long years of historically abysmal baseball.
  16. If you hate to say it you could just, you know, not say it. No need to victory lap a serious injury.
  17. Not exactly sure what you’re trying to say here. I’ve been to Oracle. It’s amazing. And the logistics are not disrupted by the canal/bay in any way.
  18. Personally, I don’t even get into the WBC that much. The part I really love about it is how much the players seem to enjoy it. And if the players (who clearly understand the risk involved) are that into it, who am I to say they shouldn’t be participating?
  19. Nah. Until it’s written in a player’s contract that they can’t participate in the WBC, I’m 100% in favor of their choice to play for their country.
  20. What about Antonacci, who did not get hurt during the WBC? Is he Italian enough for you to have played for Team Italy or is he also American?
  21. Hot take: Both Quero’s celebration and all of PCA’s antics are great. Baseball is better when players are showing personality and having fun.
  22. Isn’t that a reason to have his bat in the lineup tomorrow?
  23. Eh I just think there’s a nearly endless list of valid things to criticize the Sox for and this isn’t one of them.
  24. Dang, that sucks for Robert. Was really hoping he’d have a healthy and productive season on a winning team.
  25. How is a pitcher with an arm injury a uniquely White Sox thing?
