  1. Baldwin, eh whatever, but I don't agree at all with Quero's value going down already. He's a rookie catcher at the end of his longest season in professional ball.
  2. To be fair, Beavers made a huge leap in development this season so he has a much better trajectory now than he did then. But yeah, the Cease trade looks more awful by the day.
  3. From Rosenthal's apology: "I had to continue the interview. We were live, folks, on national television. Couldn't stop." Ken, helping the cameraman up for 3 seconds would have made for much better live television. But sure, continue with your compelling and very important question of how the big moment made you feel as a player or whatever. Side note: Why are height jokes so normalized and accepted in society? It's pretty weird and cruel actually.
  4. vs Cowboys @ Raiders vs Saints @ Bengals vs Giants vs Browns These are the games I'd say aren't automatic losses. Realistically, I think they win 4 of the above.
  5. Okay here’s a question for yall: Who makes the playoffs first, Bears or Sox?
  6. I’m willing to give Ben a little more time to shape the run game, but yeah, the lack of offseason activity to address that position was really disappointing.
  7. I know this can't be true, but it sure feels like the Twins are constantly alternating their seasons between making the playoffs and having a top 5 pick.
  8. I think this needs to be pinned to this thread. Not trying to rain on the parade. His power has been incredible and overall it’s been a very impressive debut, but it could/will get ugly really fast and then we’ll start getting the “bust” comments again. Fortunately he’s getting valuable experience and has time and room for much more growth.
  9. Fair enough, and definitely a waste of time. I just hate when this site shows its toxic Twitter-esque side from time to time. We are better than that.
  10. Oh hey buddy, how's that post coming where you show how I've spent the past year belittling anyone who felt negative about the team?
  11. Yeah, "here's what success looks like" vs "here's how to deal with failure." You'd think the coaches would have the latter covered.
  12. Lol I think you have the wrong number because I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. If you wanna throw accusations out, please share where I’ve spent the past year belittling anyone who felt negative about the team.
  13. Yeah I don’t think you get to decide that on their behalf. I am definitely not in the glass half full crowd, but this idea that they are just simple and naive comes off as pretty condescending.
  14. You absolutely can and should blame them. His injury risk should have been a huge factor in the decision to trade him or hold onto him. It’s the same crap as before. Crossing your fingers that injury prone guys suddenly stay healthy.
  15. This is why I was not a fan of holding onto him, even with the supposed underwhelming offers. The needle they have to thread in order for him to amass decent trade value does not seem feasible.
  16. He literally said “everything that happened to me is entirely my fault” within the first two minutes.
  17. Love the "day off in case rain on the opener" at Milwaukee's covered stadium.
  18. Now that this thread has gone exactly as expected, can I take a moment to say something we should all be able to agree on? It's just really really nice not having to hear from Pedro Grifol anymore. (And no, this does NOT mean I think Venable should win manager of the year).
  19. My bad then, but it was not obvious by any means with your choice of wording.
  20. Man, I was in complete agreement with you for the whole post until this part at the very end. You lost me here. These type of comments never sit well with me. The assumption that because someone feels negatively about their team, they must be miserable in all aspects of their life (and are doing so by choice!) is incredibly judgmental and really just kind of misses the point altogether.
  21. "This is a 100 loss team and you want to extend Getz?!" Did I do it right?
  22. I like that he’s looked much better, but I have no interest in betting on him to stay healthy and productive moving forward. Not after getting burned by that sort of thinking with the last failed rebuild. And for the record, it bums me out that I feel this way about, but it is what it is.
  23. Honest question for those of you “pointing out” that the team is actually still bad: Do you feel like you’re sharing new information that others were not aware of? Because it 100% comes off that way.
