Aside from the Eagles game, this is generally similar to how they’ve played most of their games. One bad half, one good half. As we’ve seen, it’s good enough to beat bad and mediocre teams, but this is the outcome I’d expect in a playoff game. The good news is I trust Ben and the coaching staff to continue getting this team to improve. And also, while I still believe the Packers are the better team, the Bears have shown they can absolutely hang with them. Been awhile since we could say that.

GB just on a different level than the Bears. It is what it is. But. Just win 2 of these next 5 games and you should be in the playoffs. That’s awesome and better than any of us could have expected.

Yeah, I don’t really understand some of the reactions. We don’t like it when teams refuse to spend or try. But then we dismiss a contract like this as a mistake. Good luck finding that nearly impossible ideal middle ground.

I think we really need to start accepting that most deals for good players are not going to age well on the back half. It just is what it is. Getting past that reality, I love this for the Jays. They lock in a #2 starter while being squarely in their window to contend. And let’s not forget the division they have to deal with. Free agent splashes/overpays are more or less necessary.

Another wild thing about this is that the O's have had a surplus/logjam of OF prospects for the past several years (i.e. a position of supposed strength), and now they find themselves needing to trade for one year of a 32 year old OF. Lol and/or lmao.

I could easily see him having another good 3 years where he’s a big part of their offense while being a great team guy. I think the Mariners would take that all day.

Would you still be cheering for a lockout if the Blue Jays didn’t blow one of the multiple chances they had to win it? Either way, a team with a top 5 payroll was going to win the World Series. Either way, a team that offered Ohtani $700 million was going to win the World Series. The Dodgers barely squeaking by doesn’t really change things IMO.

I agree that fans generally don’t credit owners for winning, but that doesn’t mean owners never get recognized. I’m not sure I even know what’s being argued here, which is what I get for butting in in the middle of it lol.
