  1. No the key point is actually that they tried (and are still trying btw). The failure is so noteworthy because of how hard they’ve been trying. I will take that approach 10/10 times over whatever it is that JR does.
  2. My preemptive lemons into lemonade approach for tonight’s game is hey, if the bears lose, at least they can rest guys next weekend.
  3. Eh I think this is the kind of half move you see a lot with teams who are sort of trying to win but are being overly conservative about it. So yeah, I’d be surprised if this didn’t take the Reds out of Robert trade talks completely.
  4. Honest question about Baldwin: What’s the intrigue with him? I feel like I’m in the minority in that I find him really underwhelming. And for the record, I’m glad that I’m in the minority. I trust a bunch of yall seeing something in him more than I trust myself not seeing it. But I just don’t what “it” is.
  5. What’s your obsession with a poster making posts?
  6. Low key great part about last night was that I don’t recall the broadcast giving the new stadium crap any airtime.
  7. I don’t really mind Poles being there, but Warren can GTFO.
  8. Isn’t this Burden’s first injury?
  9. Side note: The Sox Sunday home uniforms should be the pope outfit. Just go all in.
  10. Warren will take a lot of heat, and rightfully so, but he’s not doing this without George’s blessing. The same George who held a meeting with rookies before the last Packers game to explain to them how important the Bears-Packers rivalry is. Lol.
  11. Thought Caleb had his best game of the season. He regularly hit on both the eye popping and the routine throws, while having very few (if any) of the “what are you doing” plays.
  12. Surprised the bears are still trying to pass the ball as much as they are
  13. I’ve never seen first basemen written out like that and it nearly broke my brain.
  14. Well, yeah. And so would spending money on good players.
  15. It sort of feels like the opposite of some of the earlier Vargas discourse. Vargas is more valuable to the Sox than he is to other teams, whereas it's possible that Quero is valued higher by other teams than he is the Sox at the moment. Which is another way of saying you don't have to trade him unless you really really love the return.
  16. I definitely get that. I'm not all in on trading Quero by any means. But you can always look at it the other way too. If Teel ends up being the guy they and many of us think he can be while Quero regresses or fails to further develop, then you may have missed a great opportunity to bring in a potential future starting OF. It's definitely a risk. Trades are hard! That's why I would completely suck ass as a GM. Well, that and 100 other reasons.
  17. How so? If you can get a promising OF in return then it's trading from a strength to improve a glaring weakness.
  18. Yep, 19 inning win vs Boston and Iguchi with the game winning hit. I remember after that game thinking that no one was stopping them from repeating. Little did I know that would be the apex of the season and the beginning of the end.
  19. Yep, that completely changed how I feel about Round 2.
  20. Aside from the Eagles game, this is generally similar to how they’ve played most of their games. One bad half, one good half. As we’ve seen, it’s good enough to beat bad and mediocre teams, but this is the outcome I’d expect in a playoff game. The good news is I trust Ben and the coaching staff to continue getting this team to improve. And also, while I still believe the Packers are the better team, the Bears have shown they can absolutely hang with them. Been awhile since we could say that.
  21. GB just on a different level than the Bears. It is what it is. But. Just win 2 of these next 5 games and you should be in the playoffs. That’s awesome and better than any of us could have expected.
  22. Table 2 strictly for Uribe. I’ve heard he’s quite the character.
  23. Yeah, I don’t really understand some of the reactions. We don’t like it when teams refuse to spend or try. But then we dismiss a contract like this as a mistake. Good luck finding that nearly impossible ideal middle ground.
