  1. I mean what he’s saying is probably true. It’s essentially that the players are trying, they’re just not good enough.
  2. I hate that you made me look up Maldonado's stat line from last year to see how many at bats he had (135).
  3. In case you need a break from making fun of the Sox, I present the O’s:
  4. I feel like the A’s have been pretty good at scouting, drafting and developing hitters for a while now. As a Sox fan, I can’t even comprehend what that must be like.
  5. They shouldn’t hurry a trade, but they also shouldn’t delay a trade because there’s no obvious CF replacement. Whoever they put out there will not be good, so it doesn’t really matter.
  6. 🙋‍♂️ I don’t mind it. They deserve it.
  7. It's funny that we as fans spend most of our time here shitting on the sox and their incompetence. Yet when someone directly involved with the team was asked about it and gave an honest answer, we take offense because he was bad and/or fat when he last played for the team.
  8. Uh, I don't think Lance comes off as the spurned one in this scenario.
  9. Lol yes Noel’s nickname Big Christmas is because of his smile
  10. Andrew Vaughn is the most boring player in the history of sports.
  11. I feel this. It’s all exhausting. And really, there’s nothing else left to be said that hasn’t already been said 100 times.
  12. Lol what are you doing pirates. This comes days after they replaced a Clemente tribute on the right field wall with an alcohol ad.
  13. It’s more like pushing the rubble around with a broom.
  14. Nah I don't agree with that. The truth is, fans don't really know how to prepare themselves for a rebuild. Complete teardowns like this are relatively new since the Astros success. Sure, we've already been through one with the Sox, but that doesn't mean we are now experts in what to expect. Besides, there is no amount of "preparing" that would make setting the loss record not a big deal.
  15. I truly don't think JR cares one way or another. Getz can show him a picture of a giraffe and he'd have the same reaction.
  16. Eh it'll definitely age poorly, but most long term contracts do. They badly needed him to stay, and now they have an elite hitter for I'd say the first half of that contract. I do think it would look a lot better if the Jays were in a better place competitively for the next several years, but IMO they're clearly at the bottom of a stacked division for awhile.
  17. Still tradeable, but it’ll just be a natural bad return instead of a Getz getting fleeced bad return.
  18. Tauchman at least looks like he knows what he’s doing at the plate, which is refreshing in a lineup full of not that.
