Fire Rick Hahn
Sure, just feels like his trade value was at a peak at this deadline.

I don’t disagree with the bolded but at the same time, what’s the point of having Cease pitch for what’s likely to be a very uncompetitive team next year?

Fegan on Score @1225 pm to discuss Sox remaining moves
Their ongoing commitment to self made obstacles is something to behold. Incredibly shortsighted and stubborn organization.

Graveman to Astros for C Korey Lee
For Abreu yeah?

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
Pffft how dare you bring objective thoughts into here

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
Oh it's an awful contract, but he's not in the same question mark tier as everyone else. That's how low the bar is with the current roster.

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
The problem is they have much less to work with now than they did at the end of 2004. Buehrle, Freddy, Garland, Konerko, Crede, Uribe and Rowand were all serviceable to good major league starters at that point. Plus the nice trade chip in Carlos Lee. Now it's Cease, Robert, Benintendi and a whole bunch of question marks. Which means that's a lot of adding they'd need to do. I don't trust them with another rebuild, but I don't trust them to fill holes in the lightning in a bottle approach either.

White Sox Baseball is like . . .
White Sox baseball is like a box of chocolates. And by chocolates I mean candy corn. Covered in bees. On fire.

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
Lucky for us they are both rebuilding AND trying to catch lightning in a bottle, so we get to experience both terrible options at once.

This is the top notch critical thinking I come here for

Hindsight is 20/20. Plus, we don’t actually know why the Royals didn’t hire him, so what’s the point in pretending we do?

That's not even close to being true.

Updated MLB Farm System Rankings After 2023 MLB Draft
Look, the odds of another rebuild being successful (under the current regime) are insanely low. But the odds of the current regime adding "legit players" and the rest of the roster being good/healthy/whatever are also insanely low. So I'm just ready for a bunch of new faces at this point. It's the more interesting option to me in this lose-lose scenario.

Is Stone doing just home games now?
Yup. Personally I'm a Benetti fan, but I get that his schtick isn't for everyone. The odds of his replacement being really bland and/or having no personality are pretty dang high, though.

7/16- White Sox at Braves, 12:35
Man the Braves radio broadcast is rough. Next time you’re hating our guys, put on another teams broadcast to see what else is out there. It certainly gives you some perspective.

Garfein's Latest Podcast...
It’s wild how unimportant accuracy has become. During the HR derby, ESPN was flashing incorrect season HR totals for at least Robert and Betts, maybe more. Like, dudes, all you have to do is not share incorrect information. It’s not that hard.

Garfein's Latest Podcast...
I'd say it's worse. Knowingly doing it feeding the fans BS and calling them stupid while doing so.

Fire Rick Hahn
Completely disagree. I absolutely understand why you're saying this, but I just need "different bad" at this point. Hell, let Jerry himself be the GM, I don't care. I just need anyone not named Rick Hahn for a little bit.

Giolito's wife files for divorce
Yeah I’m not following that comparison and the either/or logic for this at all. There’s nuance here. Charitable work is generally a public or community-centric thing by nature, so it’s kind of hard for it to be private. Also, it’s nothing new that good things are celebrated and people like to hear about them.

Home Run Derby 2023
I keep thinking about this. He doesn’t have the big personality of some of the other participants. He doesn’t have the name recognition (yet). He didn’t have an entourage or any other teammates there with him. Hell, he basically had no storyline at all. And I wouldn’t be surprised if there was even a little culture shock going from whatever this Sox miserable existence is to…gasp…a fun environment?! Atta boy Pantera. Hopefully this was the first of several. He deserves to be showcased more on a national level.
