GQ: Tim Anderson Is Tired of Being the Most Misunderstood Man in Baseball
Well yeah, I'm pretty done with Tim because his play has been atrocious. Not because of social media posts.

GQ: Tim Anderson Is Tired of Being the Most Misunderstood Man in Baseball
But he's been posting these vague 'f the haters' things for years. Now that he sucks at baseball, people think he's talking directly to them? He's always been kind of tone deaf. I don't get why we're reacting to this stuff so much now.

Bullpen management
I see a guy who’s gotten worse each year since 2020 and then the Rays fixed him. Again, this is not a defense of the Sox. They clearly have developmental/coaching/organizational issues. I just think the Rays have a longer track record of turning pitchers around than the Sox do ruining them.

GQ: Tim Anderson Is Tired of Being the Most Misunderstood Man in Baseball
Dear god why are we actively looking for more things to be mad about? He’s always had this type of social media presence, even when he was winning batting titles.

Bullpen management
As much as I hate to give the Sox a pass here, I think the Diekman things says a lot more about Tampa Bay than it does the Sox. I feel that most teams wouldn’t have been able to do much with Diekman. The Rays pitching lab is that good.

A Salute to Luis Robert, the all star
Eh, this is essentially the highlight of the Sox season. Might as well have some fun with it.

GQ: Tim Anderson Is Tired of Being the Most Misunderstood Man in Baseball
I mean, sure, but that hasn’t stopped him previously from looking like a fool at the plate. Was genuinely wondering if his approach looked any better.

Has Tim’s approach looked any better the past two games or have they been lucky/cheap hits?

Blow it the F Up
Don’t get me wrong, Pedro’s been a huge disappointment so far. But to say it’s because he came from the Royals seems a little silly. Are you honestly saying he can’t tell the difference between a clearly rebuilding Royals team and a team that’s (supposedly) in win now mode? He might not be a good manager, but he’s not an idiot. Maybe that should have gone with Matt Quartraro as manager. He’s done such a great job bringing that winning culture from Tampa Bay over to the Royals.

Hendriks out, Clevinger likely out, until after the All Star Break
Ah, right, we are fast approaching the annual Hahn tradition of "Free trade deadline acquisitions amirite?"

How many different coaching staffs do these players have to fail with before they get some of the blame?

And I'm saying that people on a internet message board generally aren't thinking about journalism standards when they see something in quotes that's not capitalized, they think it's an actual quote. See how miserable and boring this team is? It's got us arguing about quotation marks.

Lol it's an internet message board. I think people are focused more on reacting to an inaccurate or out of context quote than the standard formatting for an article title.

Fire Rick Hahn
Well, they're also not doing well because they currently have a bullpen game every fifth day because they don't have enough starting pitchers. They're also not doing well because they're still forcing DH's to play RF. They're also not doing well because they still don't have a 2B. Also, we are 10% into the Benintendi contract. He's been fine in a 'he can help your team' way, not in a 'largest contract in team history' way. I will be pleasantly surprised if that contract doesn't get worse and worse each year.

Sox weather is warmer since they're further south, so I'd say we're still in play

All-Star balloting, Burger/Grandal #10 at DH/C
Sort of related, but Robert or Burger in the HR Derby would be fun.

White Sox’ trade-deadline decisions will depend on ability to compete in playoffs, not just for AL Central crown
They seem to zero in on like the 90th percentile outcome of each player and plan around that. I understand the importance of identifying the ceilings of players, but I get a sense that they rely on them reaching those ceilings. Hence the no depth, no backup plans, etc. Instead all you have to do is both pan out and stay healthy. And since there's technically no way to know that it won't happen, they get to keep believing it will. Great fun.

Grifol: 'If you don't like the lineups, talk to Jerry.'
100% It's actually refreshing seeing a non robot response. Maybe there's a personality in there under all the stiffness and pre-programmed responses.

Nightengale: Several veterans in the White Sox organization have privately expressed that they would welcome a trade
It’s absolutely a non story, but the frustration that this organization has created for the fans has put a target on everyone’s back, from the players and coaching staff on up to the FO. I think most folks are just waiting to pounce at this point. I get it.
