  1. We’ve been saying this for years, but it feels less and less true as time goes on.
  2. And it’s only missing two regulars. Well, 1.5. There’s no such thing as a regular RF.
  3. All the more reason I’d like to see him traded if he’s one that would prefer to play elsewhere. He deserves better.
  4. While I generally agree with the good riddance sentiment (I have roster fatigue with these guys, gimme some new players to be mad at), I don’t blame any of them for wanting out of this mess, even if they’re part of the problem.
  5. And minus the 6 gold gloves
  6. Friendly reminder that Sunday lineups and regular lineups are essentially the same thing these days.
  7. You seem very quick to call many of the players dumb with no baseball IQ, but with Jake it’s the coaches fault? Also, you seem to be 100% sure that the coaches aren’t coaching him correctly or at all. Possible? Sure. It’s also possible that he’s not applying what they’re working with him on.
  8. Grifol made him not clobber it.
  9. Woo is a pretty decent prospect with an inflated era from getting lit up by Texas in his debut. Him handling the Sox pitiful offense was not very surprising at all.
  10. Right, like, variety. I don’t understand the “there is no variety”
  11. I’ve reread this one a buncha times. Still can’t figure out what it means.
  12. TA two pitch ground out yes/no?
  13. I don’t even necessarily disagree with the overall point of your whole post, but I always laugh when the kid’s game line is used. It almost always feels like it goes against the overall point trying to be made. ”I’m booing because I paid a lot of hard earned money to watch them play this relatively insignificant children’s game and they’re not playing it right.” We talk about kids looking up to professional athletes, we talk about professional sports being a business, but then in the same breath we downplay its importance by calling it a child’s game. Again, I feel what you’re saying overall, but I just find it all kind of amusing. If anything, it just illustrates the weird complexities involved with being a sports fan.
  14. Meant more of the circus that came with TLR and his national headline making terrible decisions. The current team barely even exists.
  15. As awful as the TLR era was, at least there was some entertainment value with him around. There’s just nothing there with this team. Completely dull, completely irrelevant.
  16. I’m watching the Dodgers broadcast because it’s much more enjoyable to watch a Dodgers game than a Sox game
  17. Snopek replied to reiks12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Per Fangraphs, they are also 30/30 in O-Swing% aka chase rate aka swinging at pitches outside the strike zone. Pitch as well as you want, you can’t win with this kind of offense.
  18. Oh no. That’s awful. James is great.
  19. Because it’s a stat and it’s his job to share things like that. But sure, him talking made the Sox give up the lead.
  20. Are we blaming Grifol for this meltdown as well?
  21. It’s almost impressive how they seem to both rush guys back, but also play guys injured.
  22. Look, you’re gonna get a lot of shitty or Sunday lineups when you just don’t have many good players on your roster. Frazier for sheets is a lateral move and as far as I can tell most people want TA off the team, so it’s really just Yaz missing. Doesn’t seem like a that big of a deal.
  23. Interesting stuff on some changes the Rays made to Diekman. Their pitching lab is ridiculous.
  24. No, plenty of others here judge him as a person based on watching him play baseball on tv.
