  1. I’d go to this
  2. I would not, actually. Not even sure what is considered a "normal" personality vs "not normal." Regardless, part of Brooks' job is to manage different personalities and egos. If he needs it to be a very specific type of personality, maybe he just sucks at that part of his job?
  3. I think my dog is a more likely suitor for Ohtani than the Sox.
  4. I think one of the things that makes him great is his ability to be an educated and modern broadcaster while managing to keep it feeling light. He can get into analytics, but he's never dry, smug, patronizing or exhausting about it. If that's due in part to his so-called corny or cheesy personality, so be it.
  5. Yeah, I can't tell if AJ was overreacting for the sake of content or if he really can't grasp that saying "We have talent" and "We currently don't have a well rounded team" are not contradictory statements.
  6. WHY DO THE SOX KEEP HIRING FROM TERRIBLE ORGANIZA- Oh wait, it’s the Rays? Great hire!
  7. All these comments about Benetti being a “clown show” and a “total goofball” are kind of wild to me. Like, if I hadn’t ever watched any games for myself, I’d have to assume that he was constantly putting whoopee cushions on Stone’s seat, pranking him with cans of peanut brittle, throwing rubber chickens around the booth and talking about getting the one shopping cart with the bad wheel rather than actually calling the game.
  8. I believe Grifol looked the other way and said "f*** you, Colas."
  9. I love that people want well established play-by-play guy AJ Pierzynski to replace Benetti in the booth.
  10. Congrats to everyone that thinks good play by play announcers grow off trees. Enjoy whatever bland random person is in the booth next.
  11. Oh I get it. I'm basically just preferring bad and less bland over bad and very bland.
  12. And the Yankees must have played the Royals a good 40 times during that stretch. Jesus they’re obsessed with that team.
  13. Eh among the 10,000 other things the Sox are lacking, personality is one of them, so I don’t mind it. It beats Hahn’s lawyer speak and Grifol saying anything at all.
  14. Obligatory "Drew Butera played for the Royals from 2015 - 2017" comment
  15. Pretty sure my reaction to every signing or rumored interest is going to be ? Least compelling offseason in a long time
  16. It really can't be understated how badly they botched everything.
  17. They’ll pack em in for Jesse Scholtens bobblehead day
  18. The bar is low enough that seeing no Royals connection or promotion from within has me open minded.
  19. Diamondbacks seem to have turned back into the diamondbacks.
  20. I would rather spend the season seeing what you have in some of the young bucks rather than doing this lightning in a bottle nonsense again.
  21. Amazing that the concept of having good players on your team gives you a better chance to win than not having good players is controversial or difficult to grasp. Does spending big guarantee you postseason success? Of course fucking not. No one ever said it does. Stop being deliberately obtuse. Injuries happen. Cold streaks happen. It's baseball. But if you are arguing against the idea that spending money on good players is worth it because there's a possibility that you might not win the World Series, then have fun with your stars aligning, team of destiny bullshit.
  22. “Thought to have had more potential” is a nice way of saying they can’t scout, develop or coach well, so they have to hope for the 99th percentile outcome because they have no backup plan.
  23. I would say a team that doesn't like its fans is sort of a problem.
  24. Yes, I think the Padres, Phillies and Rangers strategy of signing very good players is one I'd like the Sox to follow. And, to your point, I also think the Sox should beef up their Luck Department with additional personnel.
