8/13 White Sox vs Brewers, 1:10 PM CT
It’s this strange point in the season where I don’t even understand what I’m supposed to be rooting for anymore. Are the Pedro bad decisions and quotes actually good because they increase his chances of not returning? Other than Robert coming back and continuing to put up numbers, I’m finding it pretty hard to have any sort of feeling about anything else.

Betts calls out White Sox for not defending Tim Anderson after KO punch, D Backs have team meeting about protocols for similar situations
If you don’t believe that some communities lack the resources and accessibility needed for baseball compared to others then I don’t know what to tell you.

Play the young bucks.

Keynan Middleton rips White Sox 'no rules' culture
Hell yeah Rick, you go get that reporter and hold him accountable (for doing his job?). This guy is the absolute worst.

White Sox to produce documentary for hip-hop's 50th anniversary
Sounds much cooler than anything else related to this team

It’s so funny, cuz getting to 100 loses because you were playing a bunch of developing young bucks to help gauge things down the road is a 1000000x better managerial move than playing vets that have no future on the team. And yeah, I know I’m stating the obvious/preaching to the choir/etc. It’s just too bananas and backwards of a concept to let it continue silently bouncing around in my own head.

Where are you seeing people defend the FO? All I see is piling on the FO (rightfully so)

Why the AL Central has cratered...
Or just get rid of the AL Central. Like contract the whole damn thing to oblivion.

Sox marketing of Vaughn lately
I would guess the same, not that Vaughn appears to be some born leader or anything. Pretty low bar to clear at the moment, I'd imagine. Also they get to play the whole "tradition of great first basemen" card that Quin mentioned. Also also they get to deflect the ugliness of the TA fight by focusing on Vaughn carrying him or whatever in a "pay attention to the one good thing that happened!" sort of way.

So if I have it straight, every one on every side of this is a liar

On the contrary, not only is hope a strategy, it costs zero dollars and requires zero effort. What is more White Sox than that?

Game Thread Palooza Day 1.....Cease vs Dunning
Nah there’s always lower with this org

Yep. For the organization whose main strategy seems to be wishing upon a star, that sounds about right.

Burger To Marlins
I mean the Yoan/Burger arguments have been going on almost the entire season. Not sure why it’s surprising that they would come up again in this thread where people are giving their take on the trade based on how they value Burger as a player.

Fire Rick Hahn
Sure, just feels like his trade value was at a peak at this deadline.

I don’t disagree with the bolded but at the same time, what’s the point of having Cease pitch for what’s likely to be a very uncompetitive team next year?

Fegan on Score @1225 pm to discuss Sox remaining moves
Their ongoing commitment to self made obstacles is something to behold. Incredibly shortsighted and stubborn organization.

For Abreu yeah?

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
Pffft how dare you bring objective thoughts into here

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
Oh it's an awful contract, but he's not in the same question mark tier as everyone else. That's how low the bar is with the current roster.

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
The problem is they have much less to work with now than they did at the end of 2004. Buehrle, Freddy, Garland, Konerko, Crede, Uribe and Rowand were all serviceable to good major league starters at that point. Plus the nice trade chip in Carlos Lee. Now it's Cease, Robert, Benintendi and a whole bunch of question marks. Which means that's a lot of adding they'd need to do. I don't trust them with another rebuild, but I don't trust them to fill holes in the lightning in a bottle approach either.
