  1. White Sox baseball is like a box of chocolates. And by chocolates I mean candy corn. Covered in bees. On fire.
  2. Lucky for us they are both rebuilding AND trying to catch lightning in a bottle, so we get to experience both terrible options at once.
  3. This is the top notch critical thinking I come here for
  4. Hindsight is 20/20. Plus, we don’t actually know why the Royals didn’t hire him, so what’s the point in pretending we do?
  5. That's not even close to being true.
  6. Look, the odds of another rebuild being successful (under the current regime) are insanely low. But the odds of the current regime adding "legit players" and the rest of the roster being good/healthy/whatever are also insanely low. So I'm just ready for a bunch of new faces at this point. It's the more interesting option to me in this lose-lose scenario.
  7. Yup. Personally I'm a Benetti fan, but I get that his schtick isn't for everyone. The odds of his replacement being really bland and/or having no personality are pretty dang high, though.
  8. Trying to decide if the Nationals rose or fell in the rankings
  9. Never watch a sox night game - Ann Landers, probably
  10. Man the Braves radio broadcast is rough. Next time you’re hating our guys, put on another teams broadcast to see what else is out there. It certainly gives you some perspective.
  11. But the culture and stuff
  12. “Have you tried restarting the computer?”
  13. Pretty forgettable player IMO
  14. It’s wild how unimportant accuracy has become. During the HR derby, ESPN was flashing incorrect season HR totals for at least Robert and Betts, maybe more. Like, dudes, all you have to do is not share incorrect information. It’s not that hard.
  15. I'd say it's worse. Knowingly doing it feeding the fans BS and calling them stupid while doing so.
  16. Completely disagree. I absolutely understand why you're saying this, but I just need "different bad" at this point. Hell, let Jerry himself be the GM, I don't care. I just need anyone not named Rick Hahn for a little bit.
  17. Yeah I’m not following that comparison and the either/or logic for this at all. There’s nuance here. Charitable work is generally a public or community-centric thing by nature, so it’s kind of hard for it to be private. Also, it’s nothing new that good things are celebrated and people like to hear about them.
  18. I keep thinking about this. He doesn’t have the big personality of some of the other participants. He doesn’t have the name recognition (yet). He didn’t have an entourage or any other teammates there with him. Hell, he basically had no storyline at all. And I wouldn’t be surprised if there was even a little culture shock going from whatever this Sox miserable existence is to…gasp…a fun environment?! Atta boy Pantera. Hopefully this was the first of several. He deserves to be showcased more on a national level.
  19. There’s literally no way for you to know this. This is the definition of speculation, not reality.
  20. Bat flips are also analytics
  21. Yes to all of them. Although I’m at a point where I’m basically in favor of any trade. Churn the hell out of this roster please. Bonus points because these trades involve prospects I’ve heard of. Extra bonus points because you’re trading with three orgs that are great at developing players, so maybe they’re far enough along where the Sox can’t screw them up too much.
  22. Another Jay Cuda banger
  23. Put another way, I'm ready for new guys to be mad at.
  24. No I get that. I guess I just didn’t have the expectations that he’d be humbled by this. Never really struck me as that kind of guy.
