Bard selects new Sox location
Ask Writter: https://ask.writer.com Question: Is Jerry Reinsdorf a bad owner? Answer: Unfortunately, there is no one definitive answer to this question. As with any opinion, opinions on Jerry Reinsdorf's ownership of sports teams will vary depending on the person and their own personal experiences. Generally speaking, however, Jerry Reinsdorf has been a successful owner of both the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago White Sox. He has been credited with turning both teams into championship contenders, and he has been a powerful advocate for the city of Chicago. His commitment to the teams and the city have been praised by both fans and critics alike. Ultimately, each person will have their own opinion on Reinsdorf's ownership, but his success in both sports is undeniable. Reinsdorf has also been a pioneer in the sports world, becoming the first owner to build an arena for both the Bulls and the White Sox. This arena, the United Center, has become a staple of Chicago sports and has been a key factor in the success of both teams. Furthermore, Reinsdorf has been a vocal advocate for the city, displaying a level of commitment to the people of Chicago rarely seen in sports. His efforts have been recognized by the city, and he has been named an honorary citizen of the city. such as the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago White Sox range from those who think he is a great owner to those who think he is a terrible owner. Ultimately, it is up to each individual to decide for themselves whether or not they think Jerry Reinsdorf is a bad owner. It is impossible to answer this question definitively without knowing more about the specific situation. Depending on who you ask, Jerry Reinsdorf may or may not be considered a bad owner. Some people may believe that he has made useful decisions for the teams he owns, while others may disagree. Ultimately, it is up to each individual to determine their own opinion of Reinsdorf's ownership.

9/23 - It's a Bummer White Sox victory
Dollar Bill Wirtz did this into the 1990s IIRC. The White Sox did it under Veeck, though broadcasting rights were a lot less back in the day. Then you have the Los Angeles Dodgers' Vin Scully who opened both broadcasts solo over the first 3 innings before shifting to TV with Charlie Steiner of OG ESPN fame taking over (I had MLB Radio off and on since it was introduced until Vin Scully retired). I understand Jason ditches the Sox every chance possible, but has Stone been working with many different partners beyond Len, or has Stone been taking off for many road series this season? I only have radio access beyond national broadcasts or mostly mute TV broadcasts at a bar. Cheers!

This is not true, though I'm assuming he is joking. Len Casper was solo for the second game in a row, and has done this previously this season. Also, the Sox will be on WGN this Sunday (and likely next) due to the garbage bears.

2023: MLB news not AL Central-related
The two division races are far more exciting than any wild card race. Texas looked like they were in big trouble after losing key players including Scherzer, but have bounced back this weekend in Seattle. If the red hot Royals hang on, Texas and Houston are tied entering Sunday. Houston and Texas travel to Seattle the final week, Texas playing Anaheim and Houston traveling to Arizona for their other opponents. Meanwhile, Tampa also looked for dead after losing Wander Franco, but they are battling to the end. They travel to Boston and Toronto to close the season, with Baltimore getting the easier slate on paper hosting Washington and Boston to close out their season.

9/23 - It's a Bummer White Sox victory
Yes, with Hahn and Kenny gone, the prime impetus for me to hope for 100 losses, forced change, already occurred. I'm hopeful to be able to fully support the 2024 White Sox, including no stupid (acquiring Dayton Moore / Sal Perez) or evil (picking up Clevinger's option) s%*# occurs this offseason. Really hope Boston is shown the door as well, have a clean slate. It will take time to build a consistently good team, but they can start doing the right things, including treating minor league players the right way.

9/23 - It's a Bummer White Sox victory
Hate the Red Sox / Carmines, so glad the Sox aren't going to lose the season series to Boston. A Sox win tomorrow claims their second 4-2 season series win over an AL East Team (Yankees the other). Aaron Bummer evens his season record at 5-5, the fifth highest 2023 win total for the White Sox. Luis is now within 2 HRs of the White Sox Supercut

Correct, Sale accomplished as well. Chicago White Sox 200 plus strikeout seasons: 5 Ed Walsh (1907, 1908, 1910, 1911, 1912) 4 Chris Sale (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016) 3 Dylan Cease (2021, 2022, 2023) 2 Lucas Giolito (2019, 2021) 2 Javier Vazquez (2007, 2008) 2 Tom Bradley (1971, 1972) 2 Gary Peters (1964, 1967) 1 Esteban Loaiza (2003) 1 Alex Fernandez (2000) 1 Wilbur Wood (1971) Dylan Cease currently has the most starts of any MLB pitcher over the past three seasons (96 2021-2023).

Congratulations to another 200 strikeout season for Dylan Cease! Cease joins Ed Walsh as the only two White Sox pitchers with three consecutive 200 strikeout seasons. Robert hits it at the Pesky Pole to take the lead, and set up Bummer for his 5th win of the season.

Schedule change
This may finally kill Jerry if he finds out about it.

Schedule change
Teo weekday games in a row. They drew about 100-150 to start the rescheduled rain out game against the Royals a week ago, swelled to about 1,000 before the end of the game and 4,000-5,000 for the regularly scheduled game. It will cost $7-$8 to attend these games via stub hub or seat geek, may check it out depending on weather. Need to hit the Guinness opening first if going Thursday. The Upper Deck will be closed for all three Arizona games.

Josh Barfield expected to be asst. GM; Brian Bannister and Gene Watson coming as well
While the first two hires provide initial optimism, this Watson guy appears to be a crony Good Old Boy Network lifer. The Sox desperately need to improve scouting in every area (domestic amateur, international, MLB). This hire does not appear to be the correct answer to oversee a successful overhaul, and leads to a suspicion Dayton Moore and other hacks will also soon arrive as teams are eliminated.

Sure, they are a one and done playoff team, but the Sox can't even get past these bastards, or anyone else. Len Kasper is solo, not for the first time this season. Hope the Sox keep Len and DJ on the radio for the foreseeable future. Hands down their best announcers. Vaughn just walked, a good development if he can incorporate on a regular basis.

Josh Barfield expected to be asst. GM; Brian Bannister and Gene Watson coming as well
The first two seem to be solid hires, excellent in terms of Sox grading curve. Do you or anyone have some success stories regarding Gene Watson? I found a few articles of him praising Dayton Moore but not much substance beyond that in terms of scouting success stories. What role did he play in terms of helping build the 2014/2015 Royals? Salvy Perez Trade Rumors
No Sox fan can credibly say this about any substantive move since the tanking trades. Their best high priced acquisition (contract or prospect costs) the past several years spent about two of his four seasons fighting cancer and then undergoing TJS. Hoping this nonsense to salvage the narrative about “clubhouse culture” or salvaging Pedro’s awful managerial career is set aside before completion.

They will do everything possible to get these games in primarily to avoid crediting back ticket sales.
