  1. Salvador Perez looks like he is having a heart attack running with the 3-2 pitch. ”We have to get more athletic. Welcome to the White Sox Sal.” - Chris Getz 11/13/23
  2. With all due respect to Dick Allen, I don’t want to see or hear from Buddy Bell, Chris Getz, Dayton Moore, Pedro Grifol, Andrew Benintendi, Nicky Lopez, Mike Tosar, Eddie Rodriguez, soon Salvador Perez, and everyone who has ever played or worked for the Kansas City Royals. White Sox cancer is bad enough. Now Getz and Pedro are importing dual mortalities via Royals Ebola.
  3. Would say about 100 now. Would say 300 + workers. Sec 500 closed M-Th last two weeks. Club Level Vendors can’t clock in until 4PM. Jerry & Boyer cutting every penny possible.
  4. Red Hot Ranch Lineups Home Alone Observations: 16 oz beer $13.99, $0.29 more than Club Seat tickets $6 + Fees $7.70 beer beer tax and tip. They aren’t checking 100 or 300 level tickets, but perhaps they will for game two. There are far more workers here than fans, at least currently. Perfect day for baseball. 17 fans in the club level.
  5. Voted 10 Plus for "usually attend" Includes game count for most recent season (2019) prior to COVID/Tony La Russa. Attended at least 10 games in 2019. 2020 COVID = 1 Spring Training Game (San Diego 3 @ Chicago White Sox 1 = Diamondback Ranch. Ahead of 99% of Sox fans due to government lockdowns. 2021-2022 = Tony La Russa Boycott. Hard Pass. 2023 = Hitting Games # 2 & 3 today. Voted 1-5 for 2023. Haven't seen a White Sox regular season run in person since September 28, 2019. They lost to the Saint Louis Cardinals 3-0 during Game 1, Saturday, July 8th. Perhaps they will score over 18 innings today. If not, then I guess it's me.
  6. For Jerry and his "competitors", the grift never ends.
  7. Stubhub listed $2 UD tickets & $6 LD tickets for tomorrow. However, they are charging $5.60 + fees on top of the tickets, so $7.60 or $11.60 to get you in the door. Too damn expensive for 2023 White Sox Baseball. Club Seats were a decent deal $25 all in. If this was 2019, would have bought the club seats and enjoyed a twilight DH and an up and coming team. Chill like Oran Juice Jones. I like a mostly empty park for a late season game or doubleheader. 9/12/19 - Kansas City 6 White Sox 3 - Paid attendance 13,838 (Ha Ha), Start Time Weather 72 F 9/14/19 - Craft Beer Tasting Event on an off day 9/18/19 Bob-o's Combo & Cheese Fries (Need to stay on topic in terms of the game thread) 9/27/19 - Game ended up being suspended in the fourth inning, up 4-2. Tickets were accepted for a doubleheader the following day. The Friday game was already a scheduled doubleheader, so the Sox and Tigers played 161 games in 2019. 9/28/19 - Alex Colome blew a 2-1 lead in the Top of the ninth, giving up 3. The Sox scored one in the bottom frame to lose 4-3. Below is the resumption of the suspended game. It got a bit too crowded for the regularly scheduled contest, but made it through the game. 25,552 the announced paid attendance. Have been to two White Sox home games since, a 3-1 Exhibition Game loss vs. San Diego on March 2, 2020 in an even more meaningless exhibition game than usual (the players were locked out the first 102 games). Was my first Spring Training ever, was always busy at work in the Winter/early Spring. Wonder if Caulfield was there. @caulfield12 7/8/23 - And my latest game, a 3-0 loss to Saint Louis. 26,560 announced paid attendance, would say at least a third backed the Cardinals. And that's wrap on my last four years as a Sox fan.
  8. I'd say there is a high probability the organization will not significantly improve. The best we can hope for (not necessarily expect) is Jerry nears and surpasses 90 is he will not have the stamina / interest / health to meddle as he has in the past. Plus you don't have two guys working against each other. Getz can't blame Kenny for a decade plus of his failures (assuming Tony is out of the picture - could be a big if). Also, for a majority of points, it's just a different mindset, not a costly endeavor. Hahn was ill prepared and inept, couldn't build a cohesive roster or run an organization. Acted more like a Rotisserie Baseball General Manager than a MLB General Manager. I don't see Jerry demanding the following: Hitters should not work counts. Pitchers should nibble and work counts full, exiting the game after 4-5 starter innings. The GM should focus primarily on RP and DH/1B draft and FA acquisitions. Players should play with poor fundamentals. Players should not play hard / run to first. Players should not be placed on the IL until absolutely necessary, and should return unable to play for days if not weeks and hope for the best. The Sox should field shorthanded rosters on a regular basis. There should not be a consistent organizational player development philosophy. Every man and coach for himself has worked brilliantly, DIY improvement (Lucas/ SF Getz) is preferred. The organization is at ground zero. You can recruit young hungry coaches with the knowledge they can progress and have many open opportunities with the dearth of current coaching talent.
  9. This costs Jerry money. I approve. Comiskey Park II Attendance Lows (Under 1,650,000) (Excluding Strike Lockout (1994-1995) & Government Lockdowns (2020-2021) Seasons) (Average required over remaining 12 dates to surpass in 2023) 1999 1,338,851 (Surpassed) 1998 1,391,146 (Surpassed) 2018 1,608,817 (13,941) 2017 1,629,470 (15,662) 2019 1,649,775 (17,354) I smell empty pop can 2 for 1 ticket deals in 2024.
  10. Chris Getz, until Big Daddy Dayton Moore arrives. Or in Dayton speak The Father (Dayton), The Son (Getz) and The Holy Ghost (Tony La Russa). In all seriousness, it's possible Hahn and Kenny tied his hands on some veterans. Jeff Torborg, Ozzie Guillen and Ricky Renteria were the only three managers I recall holding veterans accountable under Jerry's tenure, Ozzie in the 2000s until he stopped caring the final few seasons. If Getz can establish these standards, it will be an upgrade from Kenny Hahn: Players are expected to run to first base on every play. Players are taught fundamentals, are expected to play proper baseball, and are benched, demoted and or cut if they do not perform consistently under these expectations. Injured players are placed on the IL and do not return until fully recovered. Players are expected to work counts, extend opponent pitchers. Pitchers are expected to be effective working the strike zone, and be confident in allowing balls in play (pitchers can do after establishing point 6). Limit key acquisitions to athletic players who can hit and defend, with plus defenders up the middle. Never use a high draft pick or spend significant FA money on another poor defender or poor athlete / DH / 1B type. Period. Ever. These players are a dime a dozen. Minor League and Major League coaches are held accountable for player development and advancing a thoughtful consistent organizational approach at every level. This includes catching. Bring in a solid dedicated resource to coach major and minor league catchers on pitch calling/game management, proper defensive technique, pitch framing, game planning. Develop a modern pitching lab / system where players are taught the proper techniques and methods throughout the organization. Work with Katz or his replacement to establish.
  11. Would be funny if Rick Hahn shows up today and addressed the media as a ticket holding fan on the 100 level concourse. Funnier if he did so while drinking a fifth of bourbon. Even better drinking the bourbon and pulling out a gun Joe Pesci Goodfellas Spider Scene style as peeps do these days at Comiskey Park II. Dance Bruce.
  12. We must also remember Getz is the only person since Branch Rickey who has done it the right way, the Jerry Reinsdorf preferred way.
  13. Would rather they send Getz and Pedro back to Kansas City, where they belong.
  14. If I'm Jerry I'm pissed not because who they received or did not receive in the Miami trade but that they dumped a viable salary controlled starter over the next few years. Especially since this was reported to have nixxed at Tim Anderson trade, so cost Jerry $13M net (Burger vs. Anderson), was likely the last straw in his eyes to dump both Kenny and Rick, who also keeps on giving with the Benintendi debacle. $X - Arb / FA Estimates Estimated 2024 Payroll $125.7M Lineup (9) $59.2M: C Lee ($0.7M); 1B Vaughn ($1.3M); 2B Sosa ($0.7M)' 3B Moncada ($24.8M); SS Gonzalez ($0.7M); LF Benintendi ($17.1M); CF Robert Jr. ($12.5M); RF Colas ($0.7M); DH/3B Burger ($0.7M). Rotation (6) $24.9M: Greinke ($8.0M); Cease ($7.5M); Kopech ($3.5M); Urena ($2.0M); Toussaint ($2.5M); Patino ($1.2M). 15. LMAO at the Arlington Heights Bears. Get the f*** out of Chicago you loser sacks of s%*#.
  16. I watched a hour show on Window To The World about Soul Food yesterday "Soul Food Junkies" filmed ten years ago. Would say fried fish and hushpuppies the few types of soul food I like, and I try to keep away beyond a few times a year. Louisiana Creole food is more up my alley, but would call this more of an offshoot or departure from what most people think of soul food.
  17. Atlanta Position Player 2023 fWAR = 34.3 Luis Robert Jr. 2023 fWAR = 5.1 Rest of the White Sox Position Player 2023 fWAR = 0.0.
  18. So is Urena the favorite to start on 2024 Opening Day, assuming the Sox don’t sign Zach Greinke? White Sox Starter 2023 ERAs: 2.25 Urena 3.64 Clevinger 4.38 Scholtens 4.98 Cease 5.19 Kopech White Sox Reliever 2023 ERAs: 3.14 Santos 3.52 Ramsey 3.60 Crochet 3.60 Patino 3.75 Peralta 4.70 Toussaint 4.88 Banks 5.26 Lambert 5.29 Shaw 5.40 Hendriks 5.79 Padilla 6.88 Bummer 7.27 Navarro 11.74 Cronin
  19. Jerry is such an assclown. “The Sox couldn’t afford a year for a guy from the outside, Getz knows the organization”. And what the f*** dies Pedro and his weakass staff know beyond losing and loafing, same as Getz’ tenure in player development. Hahn at least dished out higher quality and at times entertaining bullshit. Every time Getz speaks, this is all I hear:
  20. Because Dick didn’t kiss Reinsdorf ass or anyone else’s ass for decades like Harold Baines or other assembled members of Jerry’s Crony Wack Pack. Dick Allen’s 7th - 12th best seasons were almost as good as Baines 6 best seasons. Jerry needs to be banned from the HOF, and Selig should be booted for their roles in canceling the lone World Series in MLB history, not to mention various collusion seasons, steroids coverup and other actions against the integrity of MLB.
