  1. Jerry actually caring about his on field legacy success would result in hiring the best qualified and experienced people with proven track records of success. A feasible alternative would be someone with proven success as a number 2 or 3 in a sustained exceptional front office. Jerry continues to hire the least qualified, least experienced, least expensive people hoping he can sell September carrots at some point before he passes. Jerry is smarter than his 29 "competitors", really just needs someone to execute the paperwork on his brilliant decisions and philosophy or not paying free agents, not paying scouts, not paying analysts, not paying for player development, selling international slot money, This is Jerry's legacy, plus destroying the 1994 season in his epic failure to break the MLBPA. “Everybody talks about when you build a building, the foundation comes first,” he added. “We’ve got a foundation here. We’re not going to take the guys that we have now and clean out and start over again. We’re definitely not going to do that.” - Jerry Reinsdorf - August 31, 2023 - Another day which will live in White Sox Infamy.
  2. Chris Getz and Pedro Grifol will be here in 2024 as long as Jerry is owner not because they have any qualifications or arguments to remain in their current positions, or even to have been hired in the first place. Chris Getz and Pedro Grifol will return for one primary reason. People Jerry has to pay: (EVP & SVPs/GMs + Managers) * 2021 - Two Managers (RR & TLR) 2023 - Two Managers (TLR & PG) & Two SVPs/GMs (RH & CG) 2024 - Two SVPs/GMs (RH & CG) # Note * - Includes pro-rated replacements + permanent hires. Does not include the EVP position, not because it’s not needed if filled by a competent baseball person, but not filled because Jerry is Cheap & Baseball Stupid. Note # - Could change if RH gets a job for the 2024 season.
  3. His son will be fine if he wears this. Worth the $450 when you enter Jerry Reinsdorf's Shooting Gallery. https://wonderhoodie.com/products/kids-bullet-proof-hoodie?variant=13837983449143
  4. Let's all remember this, the first of the decision in the Chris Getz Era. White Sox now 0-5 since Chris Getz spoke to the clubhouse, and is 4-10 since Hahn was fired and he became interim GM on August 22, 2023. The White Sox under Jerry Reinsdorf have a record of 1-42 in terms of seasons they have advanced in the playoffs (This is his 43rd season as owner, despite what the banner says), including the season Jerry preferred tossing a White Sox World Series appearance in the trash "to break the union". Really hope Cincinnati advances this season to put the Sox 29th among existing teams over the past 43 years, and that Pittsburgh somehow advances in the future before Jerry's tenure is up, placing his White Sox in dead last. # of Seasons Teams Have Advanced in the Playoffs (1981-1993 & 1995-2022) 1994 = F*** You Jerry World Series Championship Season(s) & League Pennant Season(s) (Expansion-Relocation Seasons) 16 New York Yankees 1981 1996 1998 1999 2000 2001 2003 2009 14 Saint Louis Cardinals 1982 1985 1987 2004 2006 2011 2013 10 Los Angeles Dodgers 1981 1988 2017 2018 2020 10 Atlanta 1991 1992 1995 1996 1999 2021 9 Boston Red Sox 1986 2004 2007 2013 2018 9 Houston Astros 2005 2017 2019 2021 2022 6 San Francisco Giants 1989 2002 2010 2012 2014 6 Philadelphia Phillies 1983 1993 2008 2009 2022 6 Oakland Athletics 1988 1989 1990 6 Cleveland Guardians 1995 1997 2016 5 New York Mets 1986 2000 2015 5 Detroit Tigers 1984 2006 2012 5 Baltimore Orioles 1983 4 Toronto Blue Jays 1992 1993 4 Chicago Cubs 2016 4 Tampa Bay Rays 2008 2020 (1998-2022) 4 San Diego Padres 1984 1998 4 Seattle Mariners 3 Kansas City Royals 1985 2014 2015 3 Miami Marlins 1997 2003 (1993-2022) 3 Minnesota Twins 1987 1991 3 Anaheim Angels 2002 3 Arizona Diamondbacks 2001 (1998-2022) 3 Milwaukee Brewers 1982 2 Texas Rangers 2010 2011 2 Colorado Rockies 2007 (1993-2022) 1 Washington Nationals 2019 (2005-2022) 1 Chicago White Sox 2005 1 Cincinnati Reds 1990 1 Montreal Expos (1981-2004) 1 Pittsburgh Pirates #FireJerryReinsdorf #FireBrooksBoyer #FireChrisGetz #FirePedroGrifol

  6. The plan is the KW / RH 2009 - 2016 plan. Mired in mediocrity, trying to win on the fly. do a little of this, a little of that. Top three mentions today by Jerry and Chris were "we play in the AL Central", Brooklyn Dodgers players and executives, and "work with Pedro".
  7. Tony La Russa got revenge and the last laugh on Kenny and Rick. Chris just wanted a promotion. Seems like he could be a nice person, but he is out of his element, and that was before he started answering questions.
  8. Between the look on his face and his answers, I had Eduard Khil running my through my head throughout Chris' press conference. Laughed throughout Jerry's side press conference as well.
  9. Jerry had some interesting things to say. Setting aside individual performances (Giolito's No Hitter, others), Jerry's pre press conference discussion was among the top 5 entertaining White Sox events over the past decade. He had more Dodgers references than White Sox (Branch Rickey, Eddie Stanky, Jackie Robinson). Time stamps from the Parkins & Spiegel show: https://www.audacy.com/670thescore/authors/parkins-spiegel-show A few comments I hadn't heard until now: "Going all the way back to Roland and Al Goldis, I wanted baseball taught in the minor leagues a certain way. Where people understood what they were doing, they understood the right thing to do in a certain situation,. And nobody ever did it right until Chris came along. And this I observed a couple of years ago, and I was thrilled with it." "I wanted to give Chris as much time as possible (before FA, meetings, etc.) and I wanted to give Rick Hahn as much time as possible. "Every year we send players home with a plan. This is what you gotta do. What we are going to add this year is we're going to police these plans. We're going to make sure players are following these plans." Editor's note - This third one was my absolute favorite. Classic Jerry, classic White Sox. "Going forward, Tony will not have any decision making authority in the organization, but he is a tremendous asset. If Pedro wants to talk to him, if Chris wants to talk to him, they can talk to him."
  10. I don't have smart tv, but downloaded the app on the phone (and have a log in from a previous year). I looked under White Sox podcasts, (Team Podcasts) and it's just Len and Jason I looked under my highlights and only found a 1:57 clip of Getz. If it's not the same (TV vs. Phone), I'll just play the audio from the Score Score: https://www.audacy.com/670thescore/authors/parkins-spiegel-show
  11. Can you or someone provide a link or description of how to find? I downloaded the app and can't find it. Why wouldn't they just add the JR questions to the youtube video or have a second one? Dr. Mr. Drummond also identify Kimberly and Arnold?
  12. Would say these people are delusional in their self confidence and arrogance. Unless they are being held there against their will, they should do the right thing and let others take their place. People get accustomed to a way of life, of people being deferential to them. 70-90 + year old people, be it Senators, several POTUS over history, or sports owners at the end like Al Davis, Donald Sterling, and Jerry Reinsdorf.
  13. Perhaps a big enough “campaign contribution” to the person who doesn’t know the difference between a “mob action” and the mafia will alter a final CPD report. Jerry Reinsdorf 8/31/23: “At this point all the superintendent is prepared to say is they have not ruled out that they came from outside the ballpark.” CPD Fred Weller 8/28/23: “Investigators “almost completely dispelled” the possibility the gunfire came from outside the stadium.”
  14. Rick Hahn is Branch Rickey compared to Chris Getz. Oh, there are a least a dozen if not more from both parties in the executive or legislative branch who literally don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground, whether they are about to eat pudding or feces until they taste it. Mitch McConnell has twice in the past two weeks frozen and unable to speak or think in press conferences over the past two or so weeks. Jerry made a joke about it when he blanked out on his answer to a question.
  15. Their documentary released a week ago with Rob Gallas and others is truly worth a watch, even for Sox fans who aren’t Hip Hop fans (I like a few artists).
  16. “I felt like Mitch McConnell there.” - Jerry Reinsdorf, 8/31/23.
  17. That’s what many felt about Ricky. Ricky > Tony > Grifol Kenny > Hahn > Getz
  18. Most bought in 1981 in their 40s and 50s. A few senile like POTUS. Several died, Jerry scooped up shares from the dead and people wanting their cash for pennies on the dollar like Old Man Potter. The rest are either pleased with their share appreciation. If not, need Jerry to die to redeem their shares at full value. Annual distributions cover taxes and a little sumpin’ sumpin’.
  19. More meat on the bones with this updated article. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/08/guardians-claim-lucas-giolito-reynaldo-lopez-waivers-angels.html
  20. Chris Getz has the lowest winning percentage at 4-6, may end up with the worst winning percentage including Hawk’s short tenure.
  21. They get $100M + each season for merely posing as a MLB franchise. Revenue can’t drop that much lower, they are already near the depths of attendance at the new stadium, and advertising sponsors and other businesses purchase a large number of tickets and boxes each season, regardless of performance. Getz will serve as a controllable lackey to Jerry Reinsdorf’s wishes, same role as Hahn. They will make a few relatively cheap FA signings each year and say they are trying, just as they have for decades. Their media and much of the lapdog Chicago media will go with it, just as they did with the bullets fired from a mile away.
  22. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/08/guardians-claim-lucas-giolito-reynaldo-lopez-waivers-angels.html Cleveland enters the day 5 games back of the Minnesota Twins, and face them three more games at home to start Labour Day week.
  23. The team will not be sold until he dies. He is trying to keep costs low while he is alive to maximize shareholder return. Jerry has never believed in acquiring top talent, on or off the field. His style is to acquire inexperienced and cheap, and hope for the best.
