  1. You both @Eminor3rd & @ptatc make reasonable points. That said, even though the points you make sound reasonable, they are not consistent with the ADA act, which I have linked below. https://www.ada.gov/resources/ticket-sales/ Tickets must be made available at the same time and via the same methods of sale. Teams cannot require proof of disability to sell ADA tickets. For individual games, the sales platform can list text stating that purchase of these seats are for one or more persons in their group with a disability requiring an accessible seat. For season tickets, a venue can ask for an attestation, in writing (though can also be submitted via the internet sales function), that a person has a disability requiring accessible seating. In the event nobody in a group which purchased ADA seats requires ADA seating, the team reserves the right to transfer fans to another area. ————————————————— TicketMaster, the White Sox official sales platform, charges billions of dollars in ticket fees. It’s hard to believe they do not offer a compliant platform across their nationwide venues to accommodate ADA requirements. If the lawsuit accusations are true, it’s likely the Sox are noncompliant due to Jerry / Brooks’ ticket sales preferences, versus ignorance of relevant law.
  2. The hits just keep on coming. https://patch.com/illinois/chicago/white-sox-ticket-practices-discriminates-against-disabled-suit The suit alleges the following: Fans cannot purchase the inventory of available accessible seats directly on the website. Restrictions on single game ADA ticket availability (upper deck or OF only until Sox eliminated from playoff contention). One of the plaintiffs was refused a change of his season ticket plan to a accessible plan.
  3. They won two interleague series 2-1 (Atlanta and Cincinnati) and two of fourteen American League series (Cleveland 8-5 and New York 4-2). They have five series remaining: They need a four game sweep to avoid losing to Minnesota (down 3-6). Up 2-1 vs. Boston with three next week at Fenway Park. Need one win for series tie, two wins for an outright win. Three interleague three game series remain. Arizona, San Diego are at home, Washington is on the road. They will not play rained out series finale games beyond possibly Arizona (on 9/28 off day), as no other games have playoff implications. It would be nice if they lose 101, or one more than their worst tanking team record in 2018. Jerry will have three of the top five highest loss seasons in White Sox history if the Sox lose nine or more of their remaining sixteen game. Most losses in White Sox History: 106 - 1970 (162 games played) 102 - 1932 (152) 101 - 1948 (154) 100 - 2018 (162) 99 - 2013 (162) & 1934 (153) Worst Winning Percentages in White Sox History: .325 1932 .336 1948 .346 1970 .349 1934 .366 1931 .383 2018 .384 2023 YTD .388 1929 .389 2013 They need to lose their remaining 16 games to tie the 1970 team (56-106). 13 plus losses gives them the fifth spot, 11 or 12 the sixth spot.
  4. The tickets are already sold. 1/3 ish or so of the 14k announced paid attendance Tuesday were in there person. They have / will close the upper deck M-Th this and next week and send ticket holders downstairs. You can even go down to the 300 level to check it out as nobody is checking tickets beyond perhaps a few ushers in the seating area. From 2019 memory vs. today, the club section carpets are worn, and leather couches replaced by cheaper fabric couches, used primarily for employees as they out number the fans. Jerry is pocketing at least some of the millions he receives in maintenance, looked and felt trashy. Some employees were sitting around complaining that they arrived for the first game but told they couldn’t clock in until 4 pm, so Jerry can save an hour of minimum wage payments. Sad. Where people can hurt Jerry and Brooks Boyer is to not purchase 2024 tickets. Plenty of resellers dumping tickets each year. My club seats were $6 (seller probably got less) and then $7.70 for fees, which may be more or less than what TicketBastard charges. Feel far better giving money to fans and these sites than Jerry and TicketMaster.
  5. Hard pass on him, Darryl Boston, Trevor Bauer, Julio Urias, Aroldis Chapman, Marcell Ozuna and he rest.
  6. He is scum and I hope he gets an L tonight. If the Sox resign him this offseason, I will not follow a single pitch until Jerry and the persons responsible are no longer employees or owners of the Chicago White Sox. Gave them the benefit of incompetence over proper due diligence and signing him anyway.
  7. MLB was a top 3 league worldwide before Jerry took over the Sox and then engineered the coup of Fay Vincent to sever any remaining independence in the commissioner's office. Nearly every decision the past four decades was to maximize short term profit at the expense of long term fan growth and interest. Nearly every NFL game is televised over the air. They are not losing generations of fan interest. MLB had zero pay per view until Jerry came along. The NBA Finals weren't aired live, they aired tape delay after the 10PM news, same as the NASL Soccer Bowl the Sting won in 1981. The NHL declined a national television contract or to televise the Stanley Cup in the United States nationally until 1995.
  8. Yes, but they were much better on the road last year (44-37 +54 run differential vs. 37-44 -85 run differential at home). Despite the worse road record this season, run differential is close (-77 on the road, -74 at home). Comiskey Park II is run neutral (100) but HR positive (107, tied for 10th). Lynn (#1 worst) Lucas (#2) and Kopech (#8) killed them this year.
  9. So many owners plus Manfred are beyond vile and clueless. You make these decisions before making an offer, not after. It's the "stewards of the game" that has led MLB to drop from most popular sport to third behind the NFL and NBA during Jerry's ownership reign, and barely ahead of Caribbean Cricket, the NHL and MLS in terms of revenue per game. Revenue (in Euros) per game played by league ($3.0M Euro +): $59.8M National Football League (United States - American Football) $17.0M English Premier League (England - Football) $14.7M Indian Premier League (India - Twenty20 Cricket) $11.8M Bundesliga (German - Football) $11.7M La Liga (Spain - Football) $7.2M National Basketball Association (United States & Canada - Basketball) $6.7M Serie A (Italy - Football) $6.3M Ligue 1 (France - Football) $5.2M Australian Football League (Australia - Australian Rules Football) $4.3M Major League Baseball (United States & Canada - Baseball) $4.0M Caribbean Premier League (Several Caribbean Nations - Twenty20 Cricket) $3.9M Chinese Super League (China - Football) $3.6M National Hockey League (United States & Canada - Ice Hockey) $3.4M Russian Premier League (Russia - Football) $3.0M Major League Soccer (United States & Canada Football)
  10. If only his drunk obese ass held himself accountable in a White Sox uniform. Been going to White Sox games since July 20, 1976. David Wells remains the only White Sox player I've ever booed at a game. July 8, 2001 - David Wells 22 pitches, 5 batters faced, 3 hits, 1 walk. 2 errors, 0 outs, 2 runs. Thankfully the White Sox bullpen held the Cubs to just one more run over 10 innings, and Carlos Lee belted a walk off grand slam off of Courtney Duncan for a 7-3 win in 10 innings.
  11. I hated both La Russa eras, didn't like the Pedro hire. Not necessarily because he is from Kansas City, but because far better experienced options were out there, just like the GM job, that were not pursued. The best candidate the Sox were interested in, Joe Espada, pulled himself out of consideration after seeing firsthand this s%*# show in person the day he interviewed. It was reported they had no interest in Bruce Bochy, who is doing well in Texas. Bottom line, the Sox weren't serious during/after the rebuild, weren't serious with this managerial hire, and weren't serious with the GM hire.
  12. Pretty dead yesterday, though there were under 1,000 for the first game, a few more thousand for the night game. Went to Red Hot Ranch pre game, great as always. Thought about buying a beer or two, but the decent options (Anti-Hero, Oberon) were $14 + tax and tip, so passed giving Jerry a penny (bought the tickets from resale, as normal. Also don't like the fact everything is through a cell phone or credit cards (tickets, concessions). Excludes a good segment of society, but catering to the well off and mining / selling credit card / personal data is where the real money is at these days. COVID was an excuse to turn to this direction, same with many other areas of society.
  13. The @Caulfield Curse (SD #1 worst team). Losing Liam for the season played a big role, just not meant to be this season.
  14. Had fun at the ballpark today. Players played hard to comeback. Cool it was only the fourth time over 123 years. Good to see if any of the pickups can pitch. Patino looked the best out of the recent player claims. Robert Moncada and others running hard. If they acquire Sal Perez, then there is zero hope, unless Bobby Witt Jr. is part of the package. He looked like Babe Ruth on the Boston Braves.
  15. That inning was awesome! Deivi Garcia making his first White Sox appearance. Let’s do this!!
  16. Yoan busted ass on that play, nice to see the bats come alive here.
  17. He was motioning as if finally approaching and then after crossing home plate. Eloy does well games I attend. Could be the last HR I see of his in a Sox uniform. Happy for @tray.
  18. Something to shoot for. Worst 2023 White Sox shutout YTD: 9/2 10-0 vs. Detroit Worst 2023 White Sox Loss YTD: 8/18 14-1 at Colorado
  19. Salvador Perez looks like he is having a heart attack running with the 3-2 pitch. ”We have to get more athletic. Welcome to the White Sox Sal.” - Chris Getz 11/13/23
  20. 5.46 was his ERA, until this outing. It’s now 54.46.
  21. With all due respect to Dick Allen, I don’t want to see or hear from Buddy Bell, Chris Getz, Dayton Moore, Pedro Grifol, Andrew Benintendi, Nicky Lopez, Mike Tosar, Eddie Rodriguez, soon Salvador Perez, and everyone who has ever played or worked for the Kansas City Royals. White Sox cancer is bad enough. Now Getz and Pedro are importing dual mortalities via Royals Ebola.
  22. Tim would have been safe if he ran to first to lead off the second.
  23. Would say about 100 now. Would say 300 + workers. Sec 500 closed M-Th last two weeks. Club Level Vendors can’t clock in until 4PM. Jerry & Boyer cutting every penny possible.
  24. Red Hot Ranch Lineups Home Alone Observations: 16 oz beer $13.99, $0.29 more than Club Seat tickets $6 + Fees $7.70 beer beer tax and tip. They aren’t checking 100 or 300 level tickets, but perhaps they will for game two. There are far more workers here than fans, at least currently. Perfect day for baseball. 17 fans in the club level.
