  1. Sheets' walkoff last night made me think this: When Eloy is back, he is banned from participating in walkoff celebrations. He is to remain safely in the dugout.
  2. There in those two bolded statements is the problem. People have lost all concept of fact vs opinion. There aren't tracking devices in vaccines. That isn't even technologically possible. That's not an opinion. It's a lie that's causing people to die. When did denial of medical and scientific facts become an opinion?
  3. Quck Pitch on MLBN is an hour-long show with highlights from every game, using the tv and radio announcers calls of all the key plays. Runs on a loop overnight until 9am. This morning, on highlights of the 2nd game, as Gavin Sheets is striking out in the 5th inning, one of the Twins announcers said: "That will be the lasting image of Gavin Sheets against Jose Berrios"
  4. Because he was on 2nd and there wasn't a runner on 1st.
  5. Notes from this game: 1) Stop letting the hitters swing 3-0. It's very unproductive 2) Start using your best relievers in extra innings 3) Stop playing Mendick
  6. Anderson started the inning on 2nd. Moncada struck out. Abreu ground rule double to center that scored Anderson. Sheets pinch hitting for Hamilton with 1-2 count.
  7. I still can't understand why TLR consistently refuses to use his best relievers in the last/extra innings when the game is tied.
  8. Is this the Burger people want to have play 2B or is there a different Burger?
  9. That's why I have a problem with giving someone like TA the 3-0 green light. He swings at a lot of pitches outside the zone.
  10. I really hope we're getting Sheets pinch hitting for Mendick.
  11. Despite the goose egg on the board, Lynn is not dominant today so I don't let him pitch the 7th with less than a 3 run lead.
  12. For whatever reason, that ump didn't want to call a strike on Engel.
  13. BR clearly doesn't like Oakland since they are 2 1/2 ahead of Toronto in the WC race but give the Jays double the odds to make it.
  14. Yeah, I disagree with Jason and Steve there. Don't swing 3-0, take your walk and even if Mendick can't drive you in you help turn over the lineup faster
  15. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. They have to be cautious not to burn him out this year, but they have to get him enough innings to make it possible for him to transition back to starter.
  16. Go read the link I posted to see exactly what these 12 people are posting. There is a clear difference between wild speculation and statements that are flatly contradicted by medical science, and what these 12 people are posting is overwhelmingly in the latter category. There are a lot of things that we know for sure that these 12 people are trying very hard (and very successfully) to convince you aren't actually for sure.
  17. My argument is that it does have something to do with free speech, in that the speech that Facebook and Twitter is allowing is even more dangerous than yelling fire in a crowded theater and the government should force that content off social media if the sites won't do it themselves.
  18. I wonder if there was any thought to matching up Lopez vs Jax and Lynn vs Berrios. Could have a really fun 15-13 game.
  19. This is where I'm at: no matter how far out there she was and no matter how specifically she asked for it, it seems like fracturing her skull should be illegal. Even if you walked up to someone and specifically asked them to fracture your skull, I don't think that should be legal.
  20. 1. Tim Anderson - SS 2. Yoan Moncada - DH 3. Jose Abreu - 1B 4. Brian Goodwin - RF 5. Adam Engel - CF 6. Andrew Vaughn - LF 7. Jake Burger - 3B 8. Danny Mendick - 2B 9. Seby Zavala - C
  21. Really? Here's another analogy for you. These twelve people are Jim Jones and they are getting millions to drink the kool-aid. Obviously we don't know the effects of the vaccine beyond a year because nobody has been vaccinated for more than a year, though we have vaccines for plenty of other things so we have reasonable theories. What these people are saying falls into one of two categories (1) saying the vaccine isn't effective, which has proven to be false and (2) saying definitively that bad things will happen if you get the vaccine, which isn't true. The first amendment isn't absolute. People are literally dying because they are believing what these people say. That puts this beyond the small-minded "police state" argument.
  22. Seems to me that trades tend to break within a few hours of a guy getting scratched. A day later, it's probably something else.
