  1. Did the Twins make a change in their starting pitcher? Seems odd to leave both Sheets and Goodwin out of the lineup against Pineda.
  2. No, no, no. It's already torture waiting until 7/31 to find out if the Sox are picking someone up. Don't make us wait longer. Move the draft up. Maybe not to where it used to be but move it to the 3rd Sunday in June. NHL and NBA Finals will be over, can still have prime time with no competition.
  3. The only difference between Emergency Use Authorization, which is what we have now, and full FDA approval, is time. The EUA we have now required a rigorous testing process. If you are hearing people say that waiting for FDA approval is important, they either don't understand what they are talking about, or deliberately obfuscating, and the ones who are deliberately obfuscating will latch on to something different over which to obfuscate once the FDA approval comes. I can't find it right now to link to it for you, but I saw a poll that asked unvaccinated people why they hadn't gotten vaccinated and 45% said it was because of the lack of full FDA approval. It asked the same group of people if they w It's discriminatory if they were going to get vaccinated after full FDA approval and only 20% said yes. So 25% of the people said that approval was the reason they aren't getting vaccinated but don't plan to get vaccinated after approval.
  4. Get Burr out of there! Do we really need more to see that he can't get it done tonight?
  5. Can't let Zavala bat here with Vaughn and Burger available to pinch hit.
  6. I really don't want to imagine Eloy or Luis trying to play 2B instead of Leury.
  7. Cleveland is so far behind that I almost prefer Houston to lose as they are competition for the #1 seed.
  8. If Rick Hahn was watching that, someone's gonna have to restart his heart.
  9. Escobar, Frazier, Story and Gallo all in their respective lineups for Tuesday's games.
  10. I don't know if I'd go so far as A+, but he's been much better than expected. The problem is that Leury's best feature is that he can play every position, and if he has to play 2B every day then he can't do that. The other problem is that when Leury is the staring 2B, your backup SS is Mendick, who really shouldn't be playing.
  11. We're doing a late lunch/early dinner at a place called Mader's. I've never been there but my parents love it.
  12. Yes but then you're either rushing him out into LF or wasting a roster spot over the weekend. Prefer to have him come back Monday.
  13. That would be a huge advantage if they are allowed to DH Eloy in Milwaukee.
  14. I don't see Eloy joining the team right as they're going to an NL park with no DH. Most likely is Monday in KC.
  15. If they feel good about Sheets, they can DFA Lamb when his rehab is done, or bring Lamb back for now and send Sheets down to get more playing time and then DFA Lamb when Robert returns.
  16. With the delta variant, there are more unvaccinated kids getting sick than vaccinated adults, not sure why you think otherwise
  17. Unvaccinated people put not just themselves at risk, but other unvaccinated people, which include kids under 13 who can't get vaccinated yet, so yes, I'm angry at people who believe and spread lies about the vaccine for that reason.
  18. You listed: Vaughn, Robert, Engel, Sheets, Hamilton, Eloy, Moncada, Anderson, Garcia, Abreu, Mendick, Burger, Goodwin. That's 13 position players if you decide not to have any catchers. If you want to have the standard two catchers, that makes 15.
  19. If I counted right, you're keeping 11 pitchers and 15 position players. That might work in the playoffs when you only need 4 starters and never play more than 3 days in a row, but you can't get through long stretches of the regular season with 11 pitchers, or even 12 really. Need to keep the arms as rested as possible.
  20. Frazier would be my first choice as well. Tired of hearing about his lack of power. The Sox have the best record in the AL while having only the 6th best SLG in the AL, and that's with three very good sluggers coming back from injury. Frazier's OBP from the left side is a fantastic complement to this team. For the rest of this year, he can be the starting 2B, and then next year he can start only vs RHP and rotate between 2B, LF and RF while doing so, which allows Madrigal, Eloy, Vaughn and Engel to get regular days off vs RHP without turning any of them into strict platoon guys. If people don't want Frazier because the price would be too high, I get that, but if people don't want Frazier because they don't think he'd be a good fit, that's just silly.
  21. I'm not really surprised that it's been that long. It's very rare for a manager to leave a starting pitcher in for a situation where he could get walked off. Maybe a bit more common with the 7 inning doubleheaders, but before that it had to be really rare.
