4-19 GT: Sox @ Boston (10:10am)

Outside of maybe the Dodgers, nobody is going to have someone better than Leury Garcia to fill in this often while 3 OF and 1 IF have been out with injuries. -

I have not seen any recent updates, but the last I saw with Engel was April 30, but Hamilton's expected return date would be April 20, which is tomorrow. -

https://bostonspastime.com/patriotsday.html No marathon today, as it has been pushed back to October. White Sox are 2-2 playing at Boston on Patriots' Day, the last time in 1994. Eventual MVP Frank Thomas homered, but the star of the game was Tim "Rock" Raines, with 3 homers in a 12-1 game won by Wilson Alvarez. -
Not sure what you exactly mean by eligibility, but he'd have to go down for at least two weeks (could be a little bit off on the exact amount of time) to delay free agency for a year, and longer than that to delay arbitration eligibility for a year. Of course both of those facts are dependent on the rules not changing when the next CBA is implemented.

Dunning will get absolutely blasted in his next start.

4-18 GT: Sox @ Boston - Game 2 (4:10pm)

It's pretty clear that TLR is matching the catcher up with their own pitchers and not the opponents. For whatever reason, he wanted Grandal with Keuchel and Collins with Kopech and offense was not a consideration. -
4/17 GT: Sox vs Sahx, 3:05 PM CST

I have to think that without a DH tomorrow, maybe Heuer doesn't get sent out there for the 8th inning. -
There were no team expectations in Eloy's rookie year. Fair or not, Vaughn is coming up at a time when there's no margin for error. Sending him down doesn't help. Just have to keep batting him 8th and push through the struggles.

Sox are 2 games under .500 with a +13 run differential, 2nd best in AL. Doesn't always hold true but more often than not, the record moves toward the run differential. That +13 breaks down as +15 in innings 1-3, +3 in innings 4-6, and -5 in innings 7-10, so late innings are definitely a problem. Also, the 5 teams the Sox have played so far are a combined 34-20 (.630) when not playing the Sox. Haven't gotten to play any bad teams yet.
-
Yes, all DH this year are 7 innings.
-
I obviously haven't been seeing Lopez throw so I have no idea if he's an option for the 27th guy or if they need to just go with Kopech and other relievers.
-
Gio/Rodon/Lynn could all be moved up a day and be on normal rest, but then for Wednesday you have Cease on short rest, Lopez, or a bullpen game, and I'd rather have the Lopez/bullpen game be a 7 inning game against a non-division opponent.
-
So, is this what we get: Saturday: Cease Sunday 1: Keuchel Sunday 2: Lopez or Bullpen Monday: Giolito Tuesday: Rodon Wednesday: Lynn

Might be easier to come down hard on the Mets if their state's governor wasn't getting a pass for the same stuff.

Sox are 3rd in MLB in starter ERA. I'd much rather have that as a foundation and bullpen/hitting/defensive issues to address than the opposite. It may be next week, it may be June, but Vaughn will eventually figure it out. Abreu will heat up. Mercedes will of course cool down but I still think he can put up an OPS over 800 for the full season. Engel will be back and will help. There should be no panic. There should still be optimism, but concern in a couple areas is also justified. I'm very troubled by Foster and Crochet right now.

Abreu and Grandal tanked this game.

I don't remember where he hit in the lineup for his other teams, but to me the two bolded facts taken together make him a guy who should be hitting in front of your best run producers and not behind them. His OBP tool has less value when you're hoping for Vaughn and Madrigal to drive him in after he walks. -
Scott Brosius had over 600 PA the year he won WS MVP. You're confusing full-time players who start at multiple positions with washed up former sluggers who have limited defensive utility.
-
A postponed game tonight means a likely DH Saturday and 6 games in 5 days. Would need to call up Lopez or go with a bullpen game for one of the games.

Millenials are older than 25 so many of these influencers are younger. I have grown up having a smartphone and apps that can reach millions of people from your own home. That's something anybody over 30 didn't have as kids. I never got into influencing. I have a cousin who started on that path when she was about 15 but ended up getting stalked and it was terrifying. As a result, I'm more cautious (even though I'm much less likely to be stalked). Facebook is the only thing I really use, because it's a lot easier to control who can see your content. I have instagram but I'm not a big picture-taker so I don't post there much. I have a twitter account because I like to follow other people's content and get information but I never tweet myself. I never got into Tik-Tok. Still, I get why kids do it because traditional kids jobs are minimum wage, super-boring working at McDonald's or something like that, and are never going to lead to bigger things. "Influencing" (I hate that term) is something you can do on your own, while you're still in school, and nobody has to hire you for it. It's a lot like TV--if you have content that a lot of people want to watch, advertisers will pay to attach their commercials to it. This just cuts out the network execs making the decisions. Your advertising take is directly related to views.

Muncy got 248 PA in 2020 and 589 in 2019. That's a starter, not a bench player. Blum played several positions. I don't even know who Scott Broadus is.
-
Not panicking, but Moncada doesn't work in the 4 spot. He isn't providing protection for Abreu. Try him 2nd or 5th. I guess try Yermin 4th for now. He and Eaton are the most dangerous hitters right now.
-
Leave Lamb's worthless ass on the bench, pinch hit Collins for Vaughn and let Madrigal hit.
