  1. I don't know, but I'm not going to make judgments, good or bad, about a pitcher in this kind of rain.
  2. They let people get in the park and spend $$ on food and beer knowing full well there's not going to be a game.
  3. No way they're playing this tonight. Call it already.
  4. Torkelson just his his first career HR.
  5. Sheets' value to the team is limited with Abreu, Jimenez, and Vaughn all being guys who can only play 1B, or play OF sub-optimally. True that none of those guys are lefties, but you have to have Grandal not catching 20-30% of the time so he can pick up that DH/1B time that might otherwise go to Sheets. You might have 2-3 spots in the post-season where you wish you had Sheets' lefty bat, but you'll have entire games where you wish you had Montas pitching, unless Keuchel is somehow a lot better than last year, which I'm not counting on.
  6. That still doesn't mean they can't bat 6th in April-May and then put him back at 3rd once the weather gets warm.
  7. I can see Memorial Day as an option, but there's no point in avoiding a DH just to schedule another home game in April.
  8. Other than playing 2 tomorrow, only other realistic option I see is 8/29. Both teams are off and Seattle is in Detroit the next day so not bad travel-wise.
  9. I don't think they'd skip him. I think they'd pitch Lambert in G1 and Keuchel in G2 so they know how much bullpen that have left after Lambert's start.
  10. Alternate thread title: GAMETHREAD 4/14/22 G1: Sox vs Mariners (Lambert vs Ray) 3:10 pm CDT
  11. What they should do: Postpone the game by early afternoon before people start heading to the ballpark. What they will do: Wait until about 7:00 when they've sold an hour's worth of food and drink before postponing the game.
  12. Yes, AL East and West teams only visit once.
  13. Eloy Luis for MVP! Got so excited I typed the wrong name.
  14. He throws sliders 90% of the time. Doesn't really need pitchcom.
  15. If Luis can take pitches like that he's gonna have a monster year.
  16. Severino, obviously. You can't give Tony a new toy and expect him not to use him.
  17. If we meet Seattle in the playoffs we know who we can bring in to get Kelenic.
  18. VV allows 1 run in 2 innings. If he allows another run in the next 2 innings I'll take it.
  19. Waiting to see who gets injured climbing down from a truck.
  20. If he does that, the extra $18.5M he would get would only be a slightly bad contract rather than a really bad one.
  21. Is there a scenario where he gets playoff innings but hasn't been good enough that we're worried about the option vesting?
  22. Yesterday: Vaughn is way too valuable to trade for Montas. Today: Vaughn needs to sit so we can get more lefty bats in the lineup.

Anybody else following what's going on in Brooklyn? What the fuck is wrong with people?
