4/13 game thread vs Boston 1:10 first pitch
That's because he hasn't pitched against the White Sox before!

Crochet speaks...
I know it is hard to hear ex-players trashing the organisation, and it does make them sound petty in a way, especially if it was a stepping stone to a big payday elsewhere, but it is noticeable that there aren't many ex-players saying how brilliant the White Sox organisation is or was. Equally, when most/many on here, myself included, also criticise the lack of organisation at the White Sox it is churlish to then trash ex-players ourselves when they say out loud what many of us already think. No one likes to hear bad things about the team they are a fan of, especially when that team is at a historic low point, and especially when it is coming from ex-players who earned millions from but didn't necessarily perform for the White Sox ( I am talking Lynn here not Crochet). But until the whole organisation becomes less disfunctional and actually starts performing on the pitch we will probably hear more stories like this one.

Sox "way behind everyone else" Lance Lynn
Probably because he knew the Whites Sox would let him get away with such behaviour.

Sox "way behind everyone else" Lance Lynn
He may be a buffoon, but that doesn't mean that what he said isn't true!

Fine, I’ll do it (Game Thread 4/10)
They might as well set fire to them for all the good they are doing with them.

Fine, I’ll do it (Game Thread 4/10)
Getz is just trying to prove last season wasn't a fluke!

Fine, I’ll do it (Game Thread 4/10)
Hopefully that won't be 150 defeats!

Fine, I’ll do it (Game Thread 4/10)
Of which month?

Resilient White Sox/AL Central Attendance, somehow up 1.8% YoY for first 21 home dates
I think Opening Day and first home series will always be more popular no matter how badly the team did the previous season. The real indication will be attendances over the next few home series if the current on field performance carries on.

Barfield on rebuild...
The headline says "White Sox front office still has faith in long-term plan", well at least somebody has faith, and apparently there is a plan!
-
Fire Chris Getz
I remember Getz was hired instead of an outside candidate as he knew the organisation and so that a big rebuild wouldn't be needed! How's that going?

4/6 Sox @ Tigers 12:40PM CT
You can't have got good odds on them losing!
- 4/4 - Sox @ Tigers, 12:10 CDT - Cannon v. Flaherty
-
3/31 Sox vs. Twins 1:10PM
At least this offense is showing that on its day it can get runs home, who'd have thought that hitting home runs was a good idea!

White Sox tarp/rain and hail delay debacle makes national news...
Well at least they made national news! I can't see the team making much national news unless they break their own loss record.

How do you rank Chris Getz' GM tenure so far?
On what basis does he get as high as a D? He constructed the worst team in baseball history last year and on paper it is no better (in fact you could argue worse). If, and it is a big if, the prospects he is amassing turn out to be the basis of a winning team then he will deserve a much higher rating but so far most of his trades look bad at best.

How do you rank Chris Getz' GM tenure so far?
I couldn't give Getz anything but an F after the worst season in history, and nothing he has done this winter suggests they will be much better this season.
-
Who are you most excited to watch this year?
Not necessarily 'excited' but interested to see if Vargas can improve from his poor showing at the end of last season. Not expecting amazing things but his showing at the end of last season was too bad to be true.

Predict the White Sox win total 2025
I picked 49-52 hoping that the majority of the players have a minor improvement without the Grifol effect. I know that hoping for 'bounce back' seasons from players will usually result in disappointment but I am trying to be an optimist. My main worry is that the pitching looks weaker than last year and that is before any potential injuries.

ST: Battle for 29th place
They couldn't hit last year either.

3/1 - Sox @ Mariners - spring training
Well I know it is only Spring Training but if you had said the score would be 10-0 in the 3rd, you wouldn't have thought it would be the White Sox with 10!

2025-26 FA Class: How would you spend Ishbia's millions?
One issue is will 'big name' FAs want to join the White Sox 'project', recently there has been a suggestion that the White Sox are so dysfunctional that 'big name' FAs would not sign. Even if the Jerry regime is cleared out by 2025/26 it maybe be too soon for players to risk signing on long contracts not knowing if things have improved yet. Obviously a lot will depend on who the GM and manager are. I find it most unlikely that the Ishbia brothers would give hundreds of millions to Getz to spend. Venable may be the man to stay as manager, a lot will depend on how he manages this season, not so much results but how the team and younger players develop.

Very well done piece by Fegan on State of the Sox
Sadly it is now 2025 and those GG seasons are a distant memory.

Tim Anderson agrees to minors deal with LAA
For that 4 season spell between 2019 and 2022 he was probably near 'star level' which made his drop off even more dramatic.

White Sox projected at a $67.1 million OD payroll, 29th in all of MLB
It would be hard to get any worse. Hard but not impossible!
