I especially like that part. Thanks for posting this. I may have missed it. I loved it. I now feel vindicated as somebody wrote my true feelings on the matter. I still can't believe the White Sox were dumb enough to let Guillen go. But the writer pointed out great reasons why KW won the war over Ozzie. Great great column.

Did anybody watch the Bartman TV special on ESPN? If so ... was he finally interviewed? I kind of feel sorry for that guy. Some bozo next to him was trying just as hard for the foul ball and would have also hit the ball had Bartman not hit it first. Human nature ... go for the ball (unfortunately).

It's obvious it's Alomar. Steve Stone says so on the score website. I would agree. So the question is, will Sandy be good? My answer: Yes. If the players perform. It's a players game.

You'd have to think the new manager knows Cooper or else this makes no sense. Pitching coach is pretty important position. This should give us a big hint. Does Alomar know Cooper well? Yes would be the answer.

He wasn't especially athletic and strong, but he was a smart player, and a guy who would use whatever advantage he could create. Watching him handle the bat, and play his position was just awesome. I'll also never forget he was the player who treated the kids who came to see him at the ballpark the best. I think I had something like half a dozen different Guillen autographs over the years. As a manager he was a whole new world. Especially coming out of the Jerry Manuel era which was so boring and lacking direction. He really seemed to just excite players and get that extra something out of them. He never was an X's and O's type of guy, but few managers could get what he did out of his players for a lot of years. Good luck Ozzie, hopefully you learned something in Chicago, and do better at your next stop. Great great post. Classy and respectful of my favorite manager of all time and one of my favorite players.
