  1. Can you imagine if we were in first place tonight? That would be the comeback of the decade. Wow. Fathom you just want Jones to play so your weird theory will come true. Maybe it will. As far as bad lineups, yes on paper we have a lot of bad lineups. Pena! Thornton! Bobby! Pierre! Rios! etc!
  2. This could be like last year. Can we stay in the race til Peavy comes back? Last year we acquired him and team sucked balls and was out of it when Jake came back. You've got to figure he'll be out at least 6 weeks. Cmon. He had the fluid, now this. He's out a while. Hudson ... we NEED you to pitch well. Sweaty Freddy has been a great No. 5 but we don't need two No. 5s. We need Peavy-type excellence.
  3. Yes it was. Brilliant.
  4. Hats off to Bobby. Comes back nice after missing so much time with the family issue.
  5. My boy Bobby shoulda got the save there. Lilly WTF?
  6. Yeah but nobody's gonna die if we somehow lose. Bobby has to be put in a save situation sometime.
  7. Why do you guys worry about everything?
  8. Pierre is becoming a likeable player.
  9. They can't love his hitting .100 the last 100 at bats. Why do they care when he hits 400? Are they going to make love to him? They aren't gay.
  10. No, but I just don't see why you think Sox management cares about that? Makes no sense. Nobody gives a bleep bout Jones.
  11. This is a myth in the fathom imagination. Jones and Lilly. Two of my most hated players of the past. Man. Nice job making me eat words you 2.
  12. I'm glad glad it's not his arm, but isn't he ticketed to sit a long time? Will you be surprised to see Jake again this year?
  13. You guys who said the fluid on the arm was a sign of things to come were right. The body warns us of impending doom. I feel for Jake. He had to keep pitching but you've got to figure his arm was screwed up. I think Cowley or somebody's first sentence of a story was something like "This doens't sound like something that will end well." Whoever wrote that was apparently right.
  14. I got to go get something to eat before first pitch; I"m not ignoring any more blasts of me. Just going to eat.
  15. Well, first of all I don't only go by numbers, especially of last guys on a roster. But a player I think sucks? I tend to rate players who start a significant amount of games in that category. Off the top of my head ... I thought Erstad really sucked the year he was with the Sox. I also hate to say I truly thought Swisher sucked. This is going by what they did for the Sox. I don't even know the numbers they put up or their numbers compared to Wise. I certainly can say I felt both truly sucked. Others? I think Linebrink and Randy Williams truly suck. I dont like Teahen but I won't say he sucks. But generally I don't care that much about last guys on a roster. Though I admit Wise did start the season as a starter. But this argument is about worth of even being on a roster. I think Wise is worthy of that; many disagree.
  16. Well the Blue Jay announcer screwed it up, then. Are you sure? You are wrong or he is.
  17. That's not nice.
  18. Sorry not trying to be an ass. I don't understand the question. I never said I was Einstein.
  19. That's really all I'm trying to say. So I have one supporter in my corner as far as this topic.
  20. I disagree especially with your first sentence. And to beat Rivera with a 3 run homer the other day and make a great catch tonight and hit another bomb. Yes these are just 2 instances, arguably providing the Jays with more than Beckham say has given us all this season. Some guys belong as the last guy on the roster. This guy fits the bill as a last roster outfielder, pinch runner, late inning fielder, whatever. Some say the hatred is because Ozzie started him and led him off to start the season. well you are all smart baseball people. The hate should be all on Ozzie. I doubt a high school kid could bash a homer off Rivera and roam center like he can. This guy isn't as good a hitter as Teahen I will admit that. I am all for keeping Teahen, but not crazy having Teahen start, especially at third. Wise can draw a paycheck as he's doing and feel like he's earning it, though. I do not classify him as a bum.
  21. OK. Well then he should feel special because there's something about him or his game that has made the Blue Jays at this time think he's a valuable sub. Obviously I'm not the only person thinks he's worthy of wearing a big league uniform. He's wearing one tonight. I never said he should play every day. But to tell me he flat out sucks is just wrong. He is capable of playing a role on a big league team and earning the minimum salary. And I didn't bring his name up tonight on this thread. Somebody pointed out he hit a big home run and the discussion ensued.
  22. As far as being a Key reserve. He can ... Run. Field. Run. Field. And has a knack of getting some clutch hits. Should he be on a roster? Yes. Should he play a ton? Probably not. Should he play some? Yes.
  23. I've written on here I have no problem with Teahen playing 2 times a week or being a key reserve. I don't deny he has a spot in the big leagues. As a regular? And a 3rd baseman? No. And that line above is just bulls***. Wise has a job now and should have one. You think he can't help a big league baseball team on a limited basis?
  24. Uh the uniform he is wearing begs to differ. He is playing ... and excelling tonight in the big leagues. He is a quality bench guy. How can you not see that? There is value in his speed and glove and occasional pop. He had some big hits for the white sox as well as THE CATCH. I like Wise. Some of you act like praising him for the catch is a bad thing. It was a great great moment in Sox history. WTF.
  25. He cost Mariana Rivera a blown save this year with a 3 run bomb. Rivera has blown 2 saves total. Do you watch him like tonight? He glides after the f***ing ball. He's a quality reserve. He just is. And some of the posts comments about him bordered on hate. Hate may not be too strong a word.
