  1. OK, my bad on the why not move on. It is a thread. But you act like Oz failed the team that day and the fans. He failed nobody. The Sox got the W. There is no proof Paulie and/or Rios would have excelled. There is no proof the day off helped them excel on Sunday. The FACTS are we won both games. Oz deserves huge credit for both victories.
  2. You guys who first guessed or second guessed ... that's fine. But with all due respect your right to first guess or second guess was erased when Oz won the game. You continue to harp on that game and we won. Oz won. You guys lost this argument because Oz and the team won the game; why not move on? Is he being graded on style points, margin of victory?
  3. Sorry about the misspelling Sqwert but it's just a nickname. You could spell Gregg like that and I don't care. It's just taking this to a new low I feel second guessing a lineup that won the game. And Sqwert you haven't answered why you are so worked up about a 1-0 victory. Is it that you were uncomfortable the whole game or ? We won man.
  4. Squert are you personally offended we only won 1-0? Did you watch the entire game and sob because we didn't score 4-5? Our lineup has sucked with Paulie and Rios in it as well. Were you so convinced we were going to win 8-0 with Rios and Paulie or one of the two you couldn't enjoy the game? I don't understand the problem here. It was a good game and the White Sox won and they won again the next day. What is the problem here? I don't get it.
  5. The man Oz said Rios needed rest and Paulie a day off. How do you know if they played and again on Sunday they'd have sucked and we'd have lost one or both games??? We got a run. We won. And the next day we excelled.
  6. I did that because a.) I didn't think we were capable of sweeping anybody on the road this season and b.) for the reverse jinx. I figured my statement would be a reverse jinx and we'd win all 3.
  7. It's results that matter. We won. Ozzie left Peavy in to finish it. I'm sure some would have fried Ozzie had Peavy blown it in a scary ninth. "How can he leave him in with a bad shoulder?" "What is Ozzie trying to do to Peavy?" "You've got Thornton for god sakes. Why did he leave in Peavy???" Oz gets the final laugh. He is rich and can deal with absurd second guessing after victories. My gosh. Do some realize what they sound like complaining about wins? I need Rongey's take on this.
  8. Not on here. To second guess after a victory is negativity that does not compute with me.
  9. Great post Hibbard. I cannot believe people are b****ing about Ozzie sitting Paulie and Rios the same day when WE WON THE GAME. What the f*** difference does it make? We won. And like you said it worked on Sunday as well. Bottom line is you can second guess 10 decisions in any loss and now Sox fans are second guessing decisions in victories which makes absolutely no sense. In answer to your question, a lot of the credit should go to Ozzie. Firing him was not the answer. He knows the game of baseball in and out and has a great feel for players.
  10. What's it like to be Randy Williams? I assume every day he thinks he's going to get people out and become good and reality hits him in the face every time he takes the mound. At least he makes a zillion dollars and probably has had the best looking women all his life.
  11. Oh I know that. The real word consists of working for a paycheck with little praise, lots of criticism and the payoff that check you get every 2 weeks. That's why Oz is laughing all the way to the bank with the criticism he gets. His checks are HUGE.
  12. We might get no hit in the playoffs with this wacky team.
  13. We need Viciedo's bat. Hopefully Oz figures that out and plays him a lot. Randy Williams stinks. He is horrible. But he is not alone. Most teams have 1-3 horrific relievers.
  14. Juan won me over with the hit against the Cubs. A no hitter against them really truly would have sucked. Also I may be mistaken but it seems like he's been getting on base 2-3 time a game a lot of late. And the good D in left is great. He's OK. I would rather have somebody else next year, though, but he's won me over even though I guess his RBI totals are horrific.
  15. Thanks. I appreciate any and all love on here.
  16. Wow, we need to have better luck against Lilly. How the hell did he almost no-hit us? We need to hit that guy, cause Dempster and Zambrano might be really tough.
  17. I remember one person saying once they liked my paragraph or lack of it style. So at least one doesn't mind it.
  18. That post you are responding to with the above quote is one of the funniest posts of all time or saddest if you want to look at it that way. Modern sports is all about winning and winning easy. Nobody wants to put in the sweat. Sox did it nice and efficient in 05, losing just one postseason game after almost melting away in September. I can see why somebody would be out, though. If you base it on a punchless offense and fact we haven't proven anything except the series we beat Detroit 2 of 3 and split with the Rays, then I can understand that.
  19. Is Viciedo the big bat we need? Can CQ start f***ing hitting consistently? Can AJ get the average back to .290 territory? Will Beckham start hitting the ball? Will Kenny get creative and add a DH and drop that worthless turd Jones and turn Kotsay into only a pinch hitter? Can the Sox trade Teahen somehow so he doesn't ruin the mojo when he comes back? Go SOX!
  20. I'm on the fence, but pleasantly surprised and happy the Sox have hit .500. It's true the Braves have a damn good team so this should be a big series. And it's true we have to prove we can beat AL teams. The s***ty Royals in past seasons have had stretches where they've won a lot of games against NL teams and then resumed AL play by reverting immediately to being the Royals. I will say I never ever thought this team would sniff .500 and I applaud the team for that, especially a team with so many bad batting averages. Real bad batting averages.
  21. As much as I love Jenks, there's nothing wrong with letting Putz or Thornton close once in a while. If Ozzie feels the vibe on a given day, I trust that vibe. Today mighta been the day Bobby failed. Good job, Oz, going with Putz for whatever reason.
  22. I think this is an excellent point. Would they really trade Dunn? If so, why would they? I'd love to have him, even tho it's another hitter that faces the dreaded shift when he bats.
  23. Great job, Putz. Excellent sweep. Never thought we could have a road trip like that. We did. .500 is a great accomplishment after such a horrendous start. Good game again! Paulie rocks.
