  1. I wouldn't be against Alexei in center, but BA is coming back soon anyway. I wouldn't mind what you say, though, since Beckham will play ss next year. What's the grand plan for Lexi anyway if he returned to the Lexi of old? Was he going to move back to second or ? when Beckham is here next year? Lexi in 96 plate appearances has sucked big dog. 6 walks; 19 hits.
  2. Buehrle should coach third base when he's not pitching. We only win when he's on the field and he would be no worse waving runners in than our coach in the rare opportunities we need to score a guy from second.
  3. Beckham's not coming up, so it's dumb to talk about him IMO. Like you said it might be best, but it isn't going to happen, just like firing Walker isn't an option. He got extended in the offseason and that means he's staying until Oz gets fired and that will happen someday. All managers get fired.
  4. I love Ozzie but tonight would have been a good night to skip over Jose in the rotation. Didn't a rainout make that possible? Anything to keep him off the mound. Stupid call by KW/Oz tandem to pitch him.
  5. OM God! Carrasco. Please say no. I know nothing about our minor league system except for Beckham/Poreda big-name types, but it is pretty sad if we are trotting pitchers out there in AAA and AA who have no chance to pitch a big league game. Who are these bodies and how bad must they be that they can't be a possible No. 5 starter in the bigs?
  6. Do we have any journeymen in AAA who can actually pitch 6-7 innings and give up 3 runs max? If not, have Paul Byrd pay the Sox for the opportunity to pitch as well as Pedro. In a new concept, they can pay the Sox a couple thousand for each tryout start.
  7. Lillibridge actually got one hit so they probably see that as progress and will keep playing him. Yikes. Your suggestion is as good as any. Might as well go down fighting with Pods and AJ at 1 and 2.
  8. Well we have to have somebody be the fifth starter. It can't be Jose any longer obviously. Richard will be the next sacrificial lamb to start.
  9. We looked great last night, then this? Oz needs to implode again. Was Harrison that good? Even AJP who has been hot, didn't get a hit. Is it possible this guy simply deserves credit?

Thome's having the kind of year Paulie had last year. He needs to get his head out of his ass. He's too good for this. It's got to be getting embarrassing for a guy like Big Jim to suck this badly. Carlos Quentin? What's wrong with the big bopper? He is sucking madly.
  11. I don't want a youth movement like the Royals' last one. They sucked for what, 15-20 years before appearing to have a good team this year.
  12. Four hits off Harrison at home? My god. This is going to be a different kind of year. Lillibridge actually got a hit? What's the record for most at bats in the big leagues without an RBI. I think he's at 49 at bats or 50 now.
  13. Hot, cold, hot cold. We're gonna get shut out again??
  14. Will Jose be released or sent down? Or DL'd?
  15. Surely our team will get booed tonight.
  16. Can somebody give me the link to chat again?
  17. Just saw Jose's line on yahoo. I'm sure it's already been discussed on the thread ... bye bye Jose. You have to go down to the minors for a month or so. This is brutal. Is he going to be 0-5????

He should have put the ball in play the other night with the man on third against KC. I don't understand why a guy as powerful as Jimmy doens't hit to all fields enough that teams wouldn't put that shift on. A lot of people say 1/3 of his homers go to left, blah blah. Then why is there a shift if he's so effective going to all fields?
  19. Too bad our pitchers are such pussies Kenny had to take it to the media to get it done. Now we will see suspensions/fights when we finally do plunk some hitters.
  20. The thing you have to love about him, among other things, is his approach. Why all pitchers don't get the ball and deliver it as quickly as he does is beyond comprehension. It's the way to pitch. Even if you are getting rocked, it seems to me, getting it and delivering it, is the way to go, not delaying delivery forever.
  21. Don't want to take a win for granted. Man, Nix with the nice job at ss and the homer. AJP with a homer; Paulie continuing to hit well this season. We score six runs despite oh-fers from Thome, Quentin, Fields and Pods.
  22. All Star berth, possible. Cy Young, nope. But you have to admire Mark which I'm sure everybody on here does. He's a mighty popular stud pitcher.
  23. We shouldn't have given away game two of the series the other night. That was disappointing. They are on a roll right now. It's Zack-mania in KC.
  24. What's going on there? Have they figured out why so many HRs? It's got to be a concern.
  25. I think that is the best thing I've read about the matter. I don't want to see Lexi out more than a game or two, because we don't have decent big league players waiting in the wings. Nix is not going to be the answer at ss. He just isn't.
