  2. This at bat is gonna be ugly. Frank with a double.
  3. Danks is burying himself and his team.
  4. Danks is pitching scared this inning. That or he has nothing.

Baseball has become several games within a game and we failed the late portion of the game when Dotel blew up. We had the game til he came in. He sucked and that was that. That Anderson play didn't help either, but had he stopped at third, Swish probalby woulda stranded him anyway. Hope we battle back not fold like we did after disapointing loss No. 1 in Wrigley.
  6. How bout "Win or die trying" The pennant is here for us to take. We better start winning on the road, cause Minnie will go 5-1 or 6-0 on this homestand.
  7. Foulke was great. I forgot to put him on my list.
  8. It's on Dotel for pitching like a bum. He can be so damn good and he can be what he was tonight, totally horses***. Baseball is such a weird game with so many relievers coming in and out. I think somebody was right when they said Thornton had it tonight. It seems like most teams are playing with fire when they use three relievers for about an inning apiece. usually one of the three is horses***.

I never thought of it that way, but Fathom is right. We are three back basically. I don't want to bag on Uribe, but for all the Uribe lovers, you would have crucified Crede for dropping the pop up. Next pitch or two bam, Cust homer. We sucked away that game. No doubt about it. Can we bounce back against this godawful team and the hack they are pitching tomorrow? Who knows? Horrible loss. I still fear Frank and how he might single handedly beat us one of the next 2 games. He might connect against Danksey two or three times.
  10. You might be right, but that's overreacting a bit. When we've won walkoff games have you screamed that we are the greatest team in the world? The White Sox blew the final part of that game. Once it was the shuffling in and out of relievers we were doomed. I'm still trying to figure out that play where Anderson got thrown out at the plate. Did our 3B coach f*** up again? Or was it smart to send him. Like Hawk said, this will spark Oakland the next 2 days. We got our work cut out. Frank alone will probably try to beat us one of the next two games with some bombs. Oh and it could be worse. You could be a Yankee fan.
  11. I don't know about that, we've had a lotta bad ones, but that game was given away in the final two innings. Dotel was ridiculously bad. I know he's had a good year but I wish I could fail as many times as he does at my job and get paid like he does.
  12. Four home runs by Oakland. Amazing. Sleep well White Sox. You gave that one away in the last 2 innings and Minnie won. What a joke.
  13. I'm sure this has been said already but the Sox are choking. Amazing.
  14. Man times have certainly changed. That team would have been buried on the board. All the favorites who bashed the ball until mid August would have been bums in September. You are right. And with Mariotti writing choke columns, wow 77 woulda been a disaster.
  15. So well written. Good job. I really really like Garland. My Soxtalk fantasy team is named JonGarlandLives. I hate the negative nickname Judy for some reason.
  16. I'd agree with that. It just seems like they really mean it at the time. Like one person couldn't take it anymore and said he was done with the game and we weren't finished with the bottom of the first. That just got to me today. Game threads certainly are wild. Back to the topic of the thread ... great sweep. Even though we are way better than KC that doesn't always translate to a sweep. They scored in 1 inning out of 27. Amazing.
  17. I admit I'm confused too, but just think about how our tone about Broadway has changed because of five innings against the horrible Royals? Many fans on here were pissed when he got called up figuring we were sacrificing today's game. I admit it's puzzling after a decent start, but Oz and KW are hot this season, gotta trust their madness has a method.
  18. It'd be nice to see the Twins lose 3 of 4 in all those road series you mentioned. Very nice. It'd be nice to see them finally have a s***ty homestand. On paper these next six look like gimmies.
  19. That was an amazing list of our top draft picks. Man did we whiff on so many. How could scouts miss on so many guys. I guess it's totally an inexact science. You never know how high schoolers will develop and you never know how the aluminum bats influence college stats. Amazing.
  20. Amen brotha. I understand what game threads are, the emotion of the game, but today made me laugh. Falling behind 2-0 so quickly brought out the venom. It made me think that to some of us diehards, the only acceptable game is to jump out to an early lead and keep it. Falling behind 2-0 to a s*** team like KC had some jumping off the building and kicking the dog. It's like they couldn't envision outslopping a horrible team like KC in our own park. Criticism is great but it's funny to read the venom when things aren't going well for our Sox. I ripped Jimmy for his leaving two runners on base when we had the 3-2 lead but I also prefaced my blast by saying, "not to bag on Jimmy too much, I like him" but ...
  21. I have no idea. This sure is exciting but I truly think anything can happen. It'd be a shame to not make it after doing well this far in the season. I don't like that 10 game road trip to NY, Minnie and KC. It scares me. If I had to bet the life savings I might flip a coin or go with my gut feelng, the scrappy Twins.
  22. Well said. Cheers to Iguchi.
  23. Amen. Great post!! I can totally see Pods making it. I can totally see somebody listing him as one of their FAVORITE PLAYERS. I mean I had guys like Chet Lemon and Gary Peters 1-2 on mine and they didn't contribute near as much on a significant level as Pods. He was sensational during our title year. I wonder why some members of the 05 Sox aren't nearly as revered as members of the 1985 Bears. Ridiculous to hate on these guys. I don't get it sometimes.
  24. Just heard Paulie's postgame interview on Royals radio. He laughed said we have "too many hitters we don't know what to do with 'em all. We got guys on the bench who'd be playing for almost any team." Everybod lauds Swish's personality. I like Paulie's personality as well.
  25. Broadway, Paullie, Jimmy. Sorry to doubt ya in the game thread Jimbo. I don't mind negative posts. I just wish guys would come back after the game and say how wrong they were. Those horrified Oz and KW started Broadway and those giving up on the game after less than one inning. Man up and admit it. I admit I ripped Jimmy early. Great sweep! Congrats White Sox. On to the road.
