How can anybody not love Tim Anderson? He is a phenom and a lock for all star game again. He is a special player. Good hitter, good fielder cept when he loses focus. I'd give him an A.

I'd be OK with that. It truly is time to fire people. HOWEVER that costs money, lot of money to pay Tony's salary the rest of his deal, pay Hahn's contract and NO WAY Jerry will do that. Anderson is a gem of a human being. Josh deserved a significant penalty but he's a Yankee and there are different rules for Yankees. The surprising thing is a lot of Twitter is calling Tim out for being soft. He didn't start this. Tim has been fine in all this; Josh not so much. He shoulda got at least a month on the sidelines. You can't bring up race and only get one game. Many have been canceled completely for less than this.

Agreed fully. And Donaldson also should be ridiculed for his stupidity. Nobody else in baseball has dared tease Tim about his magazine article. Very unwise to go there whenever the name Jackie Robinson is involved. You are just asking for trouble if u are Donaldson.

I knew he'd get off light being a New York player. But I figured one week. He's lucky he plays for the Yankees. In today's cancel culture he really truly coulda got two months. Why? 1.) He didn't need to say anything to Tim especially after the recent shove at third base. 2.) Choosing to say Jackie? Wow. You are talking a two month suspension if this was somebody outside of the Yankees doing the same things. I'm disappointed lots of folks on Twitter are calling Tim "soft" for complaining publicly. That's the wrong take. He got asked about it after the game and gave a reasonable response. Tim didn't do anything wrong. He gave a reasonable take to SI for that article and Josh seems to be the only MLB player to for some reason joke with Tim about it.

That would be very unfortunate. Doesn't security kick u out immediately if you are going after a specific player with taunts? Fans have to help the security in this case and point out the hecklers so they can get ejected from the park. Can't be yelling that at players.

Glad u never followed thru on your thoughts of leaving the world. I'm glad you said this line in yout post u said, '(I'm not saying Chappelle can't make trans jokes or should be "canceled" for doing so'). That proves to me you in addition to being a thoughtful person u have a clue cause you apparently realize it's comedy. Then you add a statement which you have every right to add: (You said ... 'I'm just asking, why do it? Why punch down? It's hack comedy, and it emboldens bigots to continue viewing people like me as subhuman')." That's a fair statement. My only answer is some comics "go after" all people all things. Not telling u anything u don't know. Remember Andrew Dice Clay? Don Rickles? They attacked virtually everybody. If you watch Chappelle long enough he'll probably get arround to offending a lot of people. If I was sitting in the front row at his concert he'd probably mock me. My only answer to you is it's comedy. If somebody at a show doesn't want to take the joke and are offended, one could either just wait to see how many other groups of peeps he offends or get up and leave. That would make a big statement at the comedy show. Like I said the Carlin concert I was at, I'd say 1/4 of the peeps left cause he was attacking parents who give their kids modern names he didn't like. The mommies and daddies in the crowd, some of em, didn't like the jokes. Carlin said he was for all natural disasters and loved reading stories about people dying cause he acknowledged he hated all people and actually had a joke saying he was for anything that caused people to die so it'd be less jerks on the planet. He went after so many groups ... he felt as if his hatred of all people was fair game comedy. I thought it was funny cause it was IMO pretty hilarious stuff he was spewing. He was so outrageous, yes in a comedy setting it was quite funny. He and Chappelle had/have other material too. They just don't bash away for 90 minutes. p.s.
