  1. Second place sucks.
  2. Such a bad at bat by Iguchi. He had to get on base and didn't.
  3. "If we played the way the Cubs played, there would be 2,000 people in the ballpark, believe me,'' Guillen said. "I know there may be some fans that are going to hate me for that, [but] it's a Cubs town. I hope the Sox rally around Oz this weekend. This certainly will be Cubs' rallying cry this weekend. "If we played the way the Cubs player, there would be 2000 in the park," means 'If we played the crap brand of baseball the Cubs played there'd be 2000 in the park." I love Oz for his candidness. Hope his players play hard cause the Cubs figure to be pissed after reading the sox skipper saying they suck.
  4. True, heads22, but at some point, if he expects to be a big league player contributing to the world champions' lineup, he needs a .350 or .400 month to make up for his s*** first month and a half.
  5. Yea, great points. I just hope Anderson can get it into the .250 range with some ribbies before too long.
  6. I didn't see the game, but considering he didn't walk anybody and struck out five and gave up just six hits, it sounds like he did well. If he can build on this, he still can win a lot of games and his experience will be important come September and playoff time. Because of what he did in the postseason I am more apt to give him a break a few more weeks.
  7. Mack's been hitting better of late with 7 hits in his last 14 at bats, just one extra base hit, though. If Mack is over his season opening slump would you be surprised to see his platooning with Anderson if Brian doesn't start hitting better?
  8. You don't start worrying in May is all I'm saying. He's 3-2. He's not an Elarton-like 0-5.

If he's never played of and nobody is talking about him being moved to of, how are you so sure he will be in lf in 08??
  10. I'm not talking about a free pass to be bad. The guy is 3-2 and yes he's been pretty s***ty, but not so s***ty as to not give him a break for a while. I think some people just hate Garland and always will. Not saying you are one of them, but he'll be Judy to some, forever.
  11. Detroit has been winning with Maggs not hitting the last week or so. Anybody notice the Royals let Cleveland off the hook last night and now it appears the Tribe has woken from its slumber? That was a gimme win and KC blows a 3 run lead in ninth. It would have been nice for KC to win the opener of that set, rather than let the Tribe perhaps start getting its act together.
  12. Great, great line. Made me laugh. I still love Hawk. He's awesome. And DJ too, though I liked Wimpy better years ago.
  13. I don't think he deserved all the "s*** that was thrown at him." The guy was DOMINANT last postseason. We hadn't won a WS in about 99 years. Give the guy a break. If this is the start of something big, great. But look around baseball and you'll see a ton of starters that have been "inconsistent."

What is Fields' history? Has he always been a third baseman? It doesn't always work out trying to screw with a guy and move him around. If he's the real deal, obviously he or Joe will be traded.
  15. Jenks has been phenomenal of late. All star berth? Jon pitching like the Jon of last year is a great great sign. Nice to win giving Crede a day off. I bet Anderson ain't going to be playing much against righties the rest of the year.
  16. I'd like to win the division and win the first playoff series. After than, it seems it's the best against the best. I just want to do that. Or I'd take being the wildcard and winning the first playoff series. I don't want to happen to us what happened to Boston. Their fans seemed to be content to losing to us the year after their big series title.
  17. I can't believe we have to scoreboard watch the Tigers. They need to come back to reality and start playing like the old Tigers, Maggs be damned.
  18. It's time to ship him where he belongs, the minors. He's too young right now to help a big league ballclub consistently. Too bad he had such a good spring. He should never have made the parent club at such a young age.
  19. I hate trades within the division. Whoever we send to the Twins could burn us in the future since we play each team in the division 34 times a year.
  20. It's great to see Crede fulfil the promise so many had for him. I love having a great defensive third baseman on the team. Now he's hitting the bleep out of the ball and should make the all-star team unless he goes into a slump. What a star!
  21. That's wild, William Tell. Are you young or an adult? You should make the drive to Chicago or KC or Detroit and see a game outside. It's amazing on a beautiful summer night.
  22. Those are 2 damn fine bright spots. Anderson did look better and Jenks was amazing. Dye's blast was nice, too.
  23. Great win obviously considering the 7 spot. History for Mark B. Nice. Thome equals amazing.
  24. My point was just that I hate to watch baseball indoors. On a beautiful summer night give me the Cell or Kauffman Stadium (minus the crap Royals) and it's heaven. Indoor baseball is hell. Who wants to watch indoor baseball?????
  25. We want to win as many games as we can. I'm all for the Sox in first all season if they can swing it.
