This is the most enjoyable post I've ever read on this or any site. Awesome. I was at work and pretty quiet, when Graffy made the boot I said to myself, 'make them pay for the error.' When he hit that ball I knew it was gone obviously and said, 'My God, he hit a 3 run homer; we've taken the lead.' The baseball fans in my area were impressed because early a couple were remarking how Wells was " a big game pitcher and this series is gonna be tied 1-1." I wish I had a pic of the s*** eating grin on my face. And a pic of Bobby recording the last out.

I'll be on a plane to California when the game starts; I won't know anything until I land. Yeah, it will be the most stressful plane flight of my life. I'll also be away from humanity for most of the game, but I'm not that nervous because even if we lose, we do have that 2-0 margin to work with. I'd love for us to wrap it up, but truly it is one game at a time with the motto "anything can happen" this time of season. GO SOX!

Geez if we need to have Ray Rayner on the list we are hurting. Wasn't he bozo's sidekick? We need to milk the Jenny McCarthy and Jessica Simpson thing. Get them to the games! If they come we'll have all the celebrities on camera we need. Jenny needs to get her ass to the games and bring Jessica and her hubby.

And kudos to Jenks for pitching well. I was also surprised at him working two innings. He was great. That double by Graffy scared me though.
-
Tough error, but I'm glad he made it and gladder Iguchi made him pay for it. And yes I'd rather have Graffy than Blum or Ozuna.
-
You said it all: Gutsy performance! As far as Crede he does look lost at times. He did make some good plays as the game progressed, you've got to admit. I sure hope Oz merely yells at him and doesn't do anything stupid like go with Ozuna. Hopefully Joe has learned something from his first two playoff games. We need him to play well, not play Ozuna.
-
I was so psyched that Iguchi made 'em pay for the error. What a clutch blast off a veteran who was pitching a helluva game. Clutch hitting! Gotta love it. Nice to get a day off today and enjoy our 2-0 status for now. GO SOX!

That's awesome the crowd was so into it. We really need to win Game Two. If we go to Boston 1-1 they could wrap it up there. Our boys need to gut out a win vs. Wells. Let's hope Mark B. is on. Jose set the table today; keep it going, White Sox and those loud fans!

Maybe Pods should bunt but I'd just take the same approach as today. Bunt some, hit some, beat the Bosox.

Just wanted to say it's been a great last offseason on this site and great season on this site and to all die-hard sox fans, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy tomorrow's game and coming contests. My prediction: Sox in 5. Which Sox ... dunno.

I hope Ozzie reconsiders his Closer Situation

I prefer Hermy too, but trust Oz and Coop because anything can happen and probably willl with our 99 win team. It seems lately when Jenks gives up a run it's usually just one run, which I guess is good. -
With the Sox playing airtight, first-half-style ball, they reduced the Indians to what they [sox] had been in recent weeks before finally clinching the AL Central title: pressing, wheezing losers --This guy has the best job in the world. He can call the Sox the Wheeze Sox and chokers for weeks and write away, then pull a "never mind" and call the Indians the biggest chokers. He sucks. Simplistic bulls***.

Same as every game: Starting pitching must dominate; defense must be good; four runs must be enough.

Who would have though Brant Sizemore's flyball drop in KC would end a season so quickly? It's amazing after that incredible 2-month comeback the Tribe went 1-6 to end it. Baseball is the wildest game ever invented. Thank goodness he dropped that fly ball. Who'd thunk the series in Cleveland a.) would mean little to nothing and b.) we'd sweep it? Amazing stuff. GO SOX!

Is it Jose's turn in the rotation? I'd have started Freddie in Game One, just a gut feeling he'd be the man. p.s. which team do the shadows favor? The game will be played in the shadows of late afternoon baseball.

Yes Greg, we've all realized your position. Several times. You've managed to talk about it for two straight days. I'm not the only one talkin' about it. Somebody had another thread about it and I posted my opinion. If you are sick of it, you should not have posted a crude remark about it saying you only kept posting it to piss people like me off. The Sox did not choke. You almost seem like you wish they did. I had to look at the choke sign for a couple weeks and it made me sick, just like my posts are making you sick. Too bad.
-
We must win the home games, that is for sure. I know that's simplistic, but if we lose a home game in round one, we're done.
-
You rule, Yasny. You are a great fan me thinks.

The choke avatars were distasteful. It is amazing how Cleveland has tanked, ran out of gas or whatever. Thank goodness that guy dropped the flyball versus the Royals and lowly KC got the final game of that series. Hopefully we'll be loose playing Boston. They are the defending champs and most media will expect them to smoke our ass.

I agree that this is the toughest call in a long time and why KW and Oz take the heat when moves backfire. It seems to me El's postseason experience is one of the big reasons we got him. I think he should be on the roster especially the way he was celebrating with Contreras after the win. If Contreras' heart isn't in it, we could be hosed in the postseason. Brandon's time is next year. Go with Duke.

10-1 Game Thread - Charlotte @ Cleveland

I'll be honest guys. I don't really care who wins tomorrow's game. I wanted to win this series to eliminate any possibility of any "backing in" talk. We are going in to the playoffs with the best record in the AL and stared adversity in the face and didn't blink. You said it. The playoffs ain't gonna be easy. We need to win both home games vs. Boston to start that puny 5-game series. If we lose one, we could be toast against the world champs. -
I will grant you gload is better than timo and blum; no argument here. I think he's a better hitter than ozuna too, but he still ain't no stud IMO.

Yet Bob gets the save. Nice job big boy. Poor Cleveland loses to our B team. I love the fact we beat them in the win column now for the season! Sox rule! -

No offense, but I don't think bobby is a playoff caliber closer, though I love his heat. I vote for Hermy if he somehow is healthy.
