Cleveland vs. Chicago 09/21/05 7:05PM CT
We have been shuffling talent on and off this team for years. Last year we got rid of Valentin and Lee. Who do we get rid of now? And don't forget Maggs. If we lose PK this is going to start showing up in the standings. We have lost Lee, Maggs, maybe PK and Frank. You can't win with Jermaine Dye and Carl Everett as your pop.

Hey Jim, you have followed the sox a long time. Do you agree this is about the most bizarre season you've witnessed? Is it driving you batty as it is me or are you relaxing and just watching how it plays out?

It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't such an all or nothing season. This winning every game and us feeling so cocky for 3 months and now losing almost every f***ing game while Cleveland wins, wins, wins, has been torturous. I know it's not life and death but it sure does suck. Also, Jim said: What's the difference anyways? The fan base will see what the team is made of over the next 11 games. If the team can't get it done, they wouldn't have done s*** in the playoffs regardless. I agree but at this point I sort of agree with fathom. It's almost like we're at the point we have to stagger into the playoffs just to avoid being the biggest blowers of a lead in baseball history. That would be a victory in itself (for about 18 hours) til we absolutely get crushed in the playoffs.

what gets me is how simple this is. if Jon shuts them out tonight, we're not only fine, we're actually safe to win this damn division. Doesn't happen in our home part and suddenly the outlook is as bleak as ever with tomorrow's automatic loss to go with the 3 games we will lose in cleveland to close the season.

Thank god I'll be in vegas this weekend and won't have time to sweat every pitch, every inning of this trainwreck. This is insane what has been going on since Sept. 9. This is brutally insane.

This is now a statement game for Cleveland. They kicked our ass in game three just like they salted away KC, 11-0. Good luck trying to hang on, you anemic White Sox. This game is in Chicago for godsakes and we get our asses kicked in the rubber game. Can anybody not blast the team after this one????

It's a disservice what Ozzie did to JG tonight, he pitched his ass off and got out of a few jams, but he kept him out there, What the f*** does Cotts have to do to get respect? He should have been pitching to Hafner I don't know why you even point to that. We didn't score a run. We continue to stagger. It's not Oz, it's the team. We suck right now and are trying to limp into the playoffs. It's pretty bad when you just know we are going to lose tomorrow and the game is in Chicago. That is a sign right there we are a shadow of the team we once had. The magic is gone.

No offense but if we had any balls we'd have won 5-0 tonight. This is the type of game I expected after last night only with us winning 5-0 to 9-0. Instead ... our woes continue. I want to know if any of you are keeping your sanity. How are you handling this? Again tonight if we win it would have been almost impossible to blow the lead considering we figure to beat Minn at least 2 of 4. Instead, we're f***ed again with Cleve certain to sweep KC and we will not sweep Minn. How are you keeping your sanity?

If we don't win tonight and it looks bleak, this series was a failure. Our last series was a failure considering Cleve swept KC while we were winning 2 of 3. We just keep dropping games.

Exactly. Our exciting win last night did nothing to slow the Tribe and did nothing to excite our bats and our team. Fred, Mark and Jon did not record a win in the 3 games. On we plod, trying to win the division by a single game.

Scott Elarton? We are lucky we didn't get swept this series. We just can't get anything going at all. We better sweep Minnie somehow cause the Tribe again is going to dust away KC.

another reason to feel confident...
Let's face it. We're trying to stagger into the playoffs any way we can and staggering is what we are doing. Tonight's effort has been totally pathetic.

ESPN TOP 10
I hope they keep ignoring us nationally and we find a way to get it done.

Bobby Jenks
At least he only gave up the one run and didn't implode totally. Hopefully we can have a committee and have it work. Good job by Hermy in the 10th also.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!
It would be so nice to shove it up cleve's ass after gaining some momentum tonight. To win 2 of 3 would be perfect after winning 2 of 3 (shakily but a win's a win) in Minn. C'mon Sox, ride that wave and win another amorrow! No matter what though, good win tonite!

Who was at the game? What was it like when Crede made contact? The place must have gone nuts. On mlb.com it was such a bomb. The minute he hit it ... GONE. p.s. Was Hawk's call memorable? Musta been awesome. What a blast by Joe.

Who turned the Cleveland Indians into baseball's toughest to beat team?

Cleveland vs. Chicago 9-20-05
Has any team ever been more snakebit than our Sox? Bases loaded; no runs in ninth. You wait, we're gonna need Paulie's bat before this is over and he' s on the bench. Yikes.

I can make a positive post Santo. I don't hate Oz; I still like him and think without him we wouldn't have built the 15 game lead. The guys played for him whereas they didn't for some of our other zombie managers. I love Paulie turning in another big season. I loved what Hermy did when he was healthy. Without him we never build that big lead. I love the way Iguchi contributed this year in his first here. I still like Crede and the way he's played well since coming back. I hate our bench; really am not big on Timo, Blum, Ozuna. Am down on Freddie for sucking when he's supposed to be a big time pitcher. I am positive a lot.
