I'm glad the fans have been loud. Tremendous. I hope we have a big big crowd Wed night. It'd really help us win our third in a row. The Twins are due vs. us. We gotta play a damn good game I bet to win No. 3.

If we could pack the Cell we would win all 4. We can't so our boys have to ride the electricity of those great fans who attend and go for win No. 3 in a row.

Carlos is incredible. thank God we didn't trade him. 100 RBIs. Awesome. I prefer to praise Carlos and Maggs and the meat of our order than worry about the ninth inning. I hope Everett, Thomas, et. all talk it up in the clubhouse and celebrate. We won the damn game to go up 2-0. No need to mourn some stiff sucking in the ninth.

I need to add one thing. The press isn't going to help us out on this one I bet. They may take angles that we barely survived. We better not let this be an issue. They batted nine times; we batted eight and we WON! Nothing else matters. Nothing. Again there were plenty of heroes. If this is somehow construed as a negative, I will be pissed.

I agree we need to relax. Let's say we got four in the ninth only to lose 8-6 and drop two back and fall 0-2 in the series. We wouldn't give a s*** about our lame comeback. As bad as we were in the ninth, kudos to CLee in for the homer in our four–run seventh to bust the game open. I could give a s*** we almost blew it. We win. On to Game Three. Hopefully we'll play well.

Last year I was down on Sandy, but I've come around. He has had a nice season. And like everybody else, I love Robbie. Great D and the guy can bunt.

Folks, for one night, give it up for the Sox. Give the Sox their props. Another great game. CLee, Colon, Maggs, our fans. Great win. If we play like this the rest of the way, we have to be pleased with this season. We may suck tomorrow, but you must admit, tonight the Sox deserve our 100 percent praise!!!

Jim, I tend to agree with everything you write. One year. What will it cost us? Is some team dumb enough to give him 5 years at 9 mill a year? What idiotic team would sign RA for long term after what happened in NY? Hire Sandy as mgr and keep Robbie. Unless we win it all; then keep JM

That home run was unreal. That was a bomb. Frank has had several of those this year. He is the man ... congrats Roman. Frank is amazing.

We need to split or win 3 of 4. No way we can sweep them without a full house cheering for our boys every night.

Roman take a long look at that tara reed photo and calm down. You mean to tell me the Sox deserve no credit? Give me a break. True they have played like s*** much of the early season, but lots of guys have done well and shown guts. I mean we may not win it; we still may blow it, but if we were running away with the division, it doesn't mean we'd win squat in playoffs. We've run away with it before and sucked in postseason. It has been a wild season of ups and downs. They've had some outstanding victories. I give credit to Crede, Frank, J-Lo, Mark B, Garland, Konerko for battling back, CLee for all his ribbies; I don't want to list any more now but s*** there have been many highlights no matter how we do in the postseason or even if we make the postseason. Like the one poster said, just one team can win it all. The sox have sucked a lot, but they've also had some nice wins.

I agree anything can happen. You said it best. If I had to bet I would say we will not win the division. We've lost too many games against teams that are good and lost too many to teams that are bad. If we don't win it, JM must go. Like you said we have 3 stud pitchers and a fourth who is not half bad. We got Frank and Maggs and CLee. Unfortunately we had a GM who thought f***ing D'Angelo Jimenez was a player and Willie Harris a player and Koch a player.

I feel your pain, bmr, but we've wasted so many this year I don't get mad anymore. We are either gonna win it or not, but we are not going to do what we should do and pull away from the Twinks and Royals. We are incapable of it this year.

Wow I didn't know we sent down Cotts. He sure did stink. Do you folks think he's ruined or can he bounce back? Did this stint mean nothing in his big scheme of things?

I like bmr, but Dick Allen's posts here are funny and so well written. They have made me laugh. Good job Mr. Allen. I disagree with BMR that there is any key. This season has been too bizarre for anything to be key. I mean Garland and Cotts/Wright are keys too I guess. The key in my eyes is to somehow keep slugging home runs vs. the Royals and Twinks. It'd be nice if KC totally fell apart and the Twinks just checked it in. That said, I'd love it if Mark B pitches like he can and Colon gets the lead out and pitches like Colon.

Great points by all. We really did need to win the series vs. the lowly Tigers. Hopefully the Cotts/Buerhle mess is behind us now. Yet another controversy that perhaps hasn't ruined our bizarre season. It's funny as of today the Sox appear OK, the Royals appear in trouble cause of pitching woes and the Twins appear OK but for them having a s*** season compared to the last. That's as of today. All could change immed.

I thought I'd make my own post before catching up on the others. Wow ... after that first horses*** game vs. Detroit that pissed us all off, we ended up winning the series and 4 of 6 on the trip. Awesome! You can't beat that anyway you look at it. Now I'll read Donkey's post and the others, but wow ... four of six. The Royals are lucky Game Two got rained out. They woulda got swept today. What can you say about E-Lo, Crede, Maggs, C-Lee and Big Hurt? They are gods.

I definitely would rather win than JM get fired. I want to win this thing, but we ain't favorites, that's for sure. Not with our scheduled compared to KC and Minn and our giving away games. We still can win 4 of 6 on this trip and must.

i have a sneaky feeling when we finally fire jerry we will hear a lot of sox players saying the man was overmatched. Just a gut feeling. I still can't believe we may not win this division.

the wire says he's day to day. Maggs is our best player; if he's out we're done (obvious statement of night). I cant see how he'd play if he had a broken finger. But again, the wire here at work says it's day to day with xrays neg.
