  1. This is scary. I want E-Lo to stay in the ninth, but mostly because I have no trust in Botch. I hate to see E-Lo give up a two-run dinger to lose it, but I'm on the record saying leave in E-Lo. What do you all say. We can second guess ourselves later. I do think Koch may blow the game. I say leave in E-Lo for the wrong reasons, the fact our closer scares the s*** out of me. At this point in time, I don't like our chances in this game. Comments?
  2. Four prospects who suck for Beltran.

Amazing how many pitchers get hurt. Todd is done.
  4. Uh oh, this is just like the Cub game the other day. Can our starter go all the way? If not will our relief blow it?? Wish we had scored more than a deuce thus far.

I thought of Todd, too. I'm glad we sent he and Royce to Milw, cause I haven't heard a word about either. how is Todd R. doing? Seemed like a nice enough guy in his postgame quotes, but oh he was so bad. He sucked.
  6. How bout we suck it up, trade Colon for 5 prospects somewhere, then trade 3 of our prospects for Beltran and sign him. Oops we can't sign Beltran since he has ayatollah as his agent. I wouldn't mind keeping colon but I can't get what ncorgl said about him out of my mind. If Ncorg is right, Colon must be a cancer.
  7. I'm worried about Minn. They swept us last time up there when it looked like we had momentum after sweeping the equally mediocre Orioles in some close exciting games. I hope we're still in the race at the all star break. I think I'd take .500 vs. the Twins at this point. If they win all the games, we're finished and it's fire sale time.
  8. I'm not meaning this to sound mean but here goes. If Sandy is such a great clubhouse guy, then why would he let that Colon stuff go on? Ncorgl? comment, please. I feel sorry for Josh. Is he out of options? Can another team pick him up?
  9. Posting on an off day is less stressful. We all want the Sox to win on gameday and they've been less than stellar in that regard.
  10. Is Baggs OK? I like his posts. He's come close to giving up on our horrific sox before.

I also expected us to get swept, so 2 is nice. And it's easier to stomach if Colon asked out. Can we win the Minn. series? We need to win 2 if we have any hopes of staying alive.
  12. I agree with Roman again; Garland did pitch well and so did Colon. He was great. 2 of 3 is pretty nice, but don't you wish we could sweep some people? We ain't ever gonna get on the roll we need if we don't start sweeping some people when we get the chance. Let's just hope we can win the series in Minn. somehow.
  13. To defend myself, I said if Colon didn't ask out or like the one poster said, hurt his finger again, then JM deserved to be fired = case closed. Too bad Bartolo was pooped. Cause he had some pop and I think we'd have won had he been able to finish. It's interesting that Jerry let him walk to the mound however before replacing him. If he said he was pooped, why did he go out to the mound? In retrospect, our hitting let us down again. What'd we get 7 runs in the first four inns Saturday then one the rest of the series? Konerko's flame out has hurt our team big time. (give me the master of the obvious award, pls.)
  14. Good points Kip. I disagree we should have lost yesterday. Blowing a 7-run lead would not have been good.
  15. Good post, Roman. I agree.

I'd definitely like us to get a new 2b, ss, cf combination. Too bad we don't have angel berroa and Beltran of the Royals. Who'd have thought Paulie would be washed up a year after last year? Now he's nothing. I'd like to see us keep Crede, get rid of ss, 2b and Paulie. Keep Frank. Keep Olivo and let all other catchers depart. Keep Maggs and Lee and get rid of all other outfielders. Keep most of our pitchers and take our chances there. Though it looks like we need a closer again and I wouldn't mind seeing Gordon depart and of course White.
  17. You gotta let him stay in. Let him win or lose it on a day we were only gonna get one run. Bulls*** managing unless BC wanted out.

That's why we should be mad. We had a chance to go 3-3 in Wrigley. Now they win 2 of 3 next weekend and what did we gain? I'm just mad cause we hooked Colon when it was still 1-0. Maybe his finger hurt; if so, I guess I just credit the Cubs.
  19. You've got to have a feel for the game. Our bats got one run which was all they were gonna get. Colon was our only hope, shutting out the lifeless Cubs. Marte did suck, no question, but Koch woulda blown it in ninth anyway. I guess we should be happy with 2 of 3. I guess we should wait til offseason and find a great choice to replace JM. If we fire him now, we'll keep the interim next year.
  20. Willie Harris is not a big leaguer. I'm not saying that cause he just lined out. He can't hit the ball. Very bad loss for our Sox. Shoulda beat a slumbersome Cubs team 1-0.
  21. He was probably smiling because the fans gave him a loud ovation. The guy pitched a great game and we lost this one cause we removed him.
  22. Dauber whiffs. Surprising. He's been relatively hot.
  23. Maybe flasoxjimm is right, maybe his finger hurt. If not Manuel should be ripped a new one by reinsdork.
  24. Good job screaming that Yasny. Only way we were gonna win today was by a Colon shutout. We had a chance to get that shutout. Look for Colon to explode in the postgame when writers ask him about it.
  25. 2 of 3 ain't bad, but why not let Colon win or lose it on his own accord? Since when did we get to the point in a June game a pitcher is taken out with a shutout going? Modern baseball sucks. Leave the f***ing starter in when he has a shutout going.
