  1. Brother Rice vs. Loyola was a classic Friday night on Br. Rice TV on youtube. Loyola won 45-42. Maldonado gained 350 or so rushing yards with 3 or so TDs. School record rushing yards. Sadly he got hurt on his last carry, broken collarbone. Meanwhile, Rice QB Lausch accounted for six TDs. I can't recall if they all were passing TDs or not. It was a great game at Br. Rice. Loyola is really good again. The offense is unstoppable. I think Br. Rice is really good but once again a notch below Loyola. Hope they are not in the same class. I think Rice is 7A this year.
  2. The Beast asked me these questions: 1.) Yes they go after Fauci. Hard. And they also SHOULD blame China big time. However, inexplicably we are in an era where we do not blame China for their atrocities (not talking about Covid, other stuff). I don't like this trend of coddling China. They are our adversary, folks. I won't say enemy here to avoid causing an earthquake. 2.) You wanted to know who I trust cause I musta trusted somebody if I got the 2 doses. Here's my answer: I have some close friends I've kept since high school who I respect and I trust them and they told me to get vaxxed and I know they have my best interests at heart. 2.) I trust my brother a nurse and he told me that the vax is worth getting and won't harm me down the line. He also is directly involved with Covid but not a big covid worrywart. He's never thought Covid was a big problem and I'm not lying, he is a nurse. He's not concerned about Covid much and he works in Chicago area. Finally I trust the pharmacist who gave me both shots. I know it's stupid but she killed me with kindness and convinced me it was a good idea and I should be OK. That's my answer. Peace out.
  3. Not sure I'm about to make a good point here or if my point has holes in it, but I thought of something today while watching Kansas lose 45-7 to Baylor. OK this is America, land of the free still. One point I'd like to make is, yes, there are cases in which "some" people have had physical problems upon getting vaccinated. True we don't hear much about those who have had heart problems after being vaxxed (we don't hear about a lot of things nowadays because many media outlets have changed in terms of what they will and won't cover) but some people have been harmed by the vax. I think we can all agree this is true. Most of us know somebody who has had physical problems after being vaxxed. Also, some anti vaxxers truly are concerned about possible side effects 2-3 years down the line. Not all anti vaxxers are conspiracy theorists, some are afraid for their health down the line if they are vaxxed. I know this because they have told me this at church. There are some people worried about future side effects. My point is ... considering some have died after being vaxxed or fallen ill and considering some are concerned about future problems after being vaxxed, the fact America is the land of the free does indeed give these people the right to not be vaxxed. To me this point I've made makes perfect sense. Perhaps somebody will dispute it but I think it's cut and dried. If America truly is free, one has a right to say no when they know people who have died after being vaxxed and/or are worried about future side effects. Yes it's a freedom issue IMO.
  4. I think he cares and he's trying. Some of his monologues on the woke nonsense are outstanding. And I do think his heart is in the right place trying to save America from itself. He's proving you can be upset at both sides, the far left and the radical right. He is a liberal; I am conservative yet I like him much. Howard is way liberal; I am conservative yet I love Howard as well.
  5. What about a third group that includes me? I don't trust Fauci. I don't trust politicians Republican or Democrat now, although if prodded I will admit I currently am a fan of two three elected government officials, that's it. I won't name them since it will cause an argument. And yet I got the vaccine twice and will get the booster. So what group are people like me in? I don't believe in the science of it currently. And I cerainly don't think I know better than the science.
  6. You are the one who asked the question and a follow up. I answer questions I get in trouble. Fun. And I am supposed to not respond to this line? " "Nah, you would have been pretty successfully manipulated either way." OK, I'm done with this topic for today. Enjoy reading posts that agree with your position.
  7. Does this bother anybody else? Yeah let's vote on whether boosters are needed. How bout some unequivocal proof and 100 percent consensus on things once in a while? So if it's 55-45 in favor do we all rush to the front of the line? https://www.cbsnews.com/news/fda-covid-booster-shot-vote/
  8. I would never give an answer to somebody's post that assumes a person's character or what a person is thinking or how a person will act 100 percent of the time. I don't understand why some go this way but whatever. ... the fact I am vaxxed proves you are wrong. My deductions came to my personal decision that yes I need to be vaxxed. ... From talking to those who will not be vaxxed and listening to others on social media/youtube, TV) I can understand their position.
  9. I am a vaxxer not anti vaxxer, so I'm trying to speak for anti-vaxxers here. If an anti vaxxer finds out it started in a wuhan lab, that would show the anti vaxxers there have been lies from the beginning. It would tell them, "I knew it. I trust none of those liars. This vax could harm me (fill in conspiracy theories)." The first lie would give them ammo that the whole issue is partisan lying.
  10. I think it matters where it originated because if it's in a lab, it points out the place where lies began regarding COVID. A lot of the unvacced don't trust anybody and it starts with the first lie (if there is one re. origin). 2. No, but if politics were never involved maybe doctors and health care providers and scientists who the anti vaccers don't trust (Fauci) might have been more believable. Trump, Biden, Kamala, Fauci all have said some pretty despicable things through the last 2 years. 3. Maybe we need a viable third party in government. There's talk Yang is starting one. Like Bill Maher said last night we talk politics too much (watch his great interview on Kimmel). We're too engrossed with politics now (it started when Trump came on the scene sparking unabashed anger from the Behars of the world and turned into derangement almost) and we need to stop talking politics 24/7 or close to 24/7 when we're not looking into what's happening with our fave sports teams. I really like Maher at times.
  11. Because of the "lie" that can be unearthed if this came out of a lab, say in Wuhan. That would mean the reasons reported as how the virus came about were lies (from animals) and when lies are unearthed, all the distrust and anger that I mentioned in my post result.
  12. This issue is complicated compared to other vaccines because of the fact we still don't know for sure where the virus originated, the politics involved in lockdowns and shutdowns, the fact it was administered before full FDA approval which has sparked conspiracy theories, etc. Say what you want and disagree all you want but because of all the noise and distrust of Fauci and the government (many would never trust a Trump vaccine; many would never trust a Biden vaccine) you get many unwilling to be vaxxed. There's been so much noise and so little discussion of calming people's fears to adverse reactions that have occurred with some, that many are sitting it out. In answer to your question, yes people have the right to refuse to be jabbed. Personal choice is evident here and understandable. It's just the way it is. Some are rolling the dice rather than trusting politicians and science. There's also an intolerance regarding calm discussion of the issue. Right wing radio hosts have been outspoken against the vax and more than a few have died from Covid. Left wingers like Howard have exploded and said unvaxxed deserve what they get. Noise, noise, noise. We have to deal with the fallout of an angry society re. this vaccine and future ones surely to come. Not enough calm discussion. Everybody feels they are right and have dug in. Peace.
  13. Interesting that the two highly publicized cases of celebs who 'threw the kitchen sink" at Covid, got well really quickly: Trump and Rogan.
  14. So much is wrong about this post IMO, but no need for me to rebut. You have the right to your opinion on the vax issue.
  15. Bats were rocking and rolling during Game One of the series. Poor Sox have had the division wrapped up for so long it's just been a waiting game for the postseason. It's all about medical treatments right now, not baseball. Right?
  16. Too many bumps and bruises. Sox are mentally and physically shooting for the playoffs and that's it. Considering the easy run to the division title, it's the smart play, the smart bet. Gotta hope to catch lightning in a playoff bottle.
  17. 11 strikeouts tonight. Very boring and very sad what modern day baseball has become. The home run throughout history has been great, but this new brand of baseball in which ALMOST everyone tries to hit a home run or strikeout really truly is ruining the great game. So only guys with almost no reasonable expectation of a home run (a guy as short as Madrigal) try to hit singles. At least Moncada stroked that single to left when it appeared Sox might actually rally the old way. Not to be.
  18. Tolerance, calmness and kindness. Without these things America is doomed.
  19. If you are implying the "monoclonal treatment that normal Joe's can't afford" works and is an effective plan to make sure you don't suffer severe Covid symptoms, then by gosh pharm and President Joe and Kamala and Fauci need to tell us that and MAKE IT AFFORDABLE. Vaccines have been free. If Rogan's plan worked, then by gosh, bring it on for everybody FDA!!! CDC, whomever. Test it. Bring it. This is a crisis, folks. If Trump and Joe Rogan took the right medicines, let's do it if it works. Or at least explore it. Money should be no object during a pandemic.
  20. I love Rogan. Totally love his takes and commentary. And interviews. I can't be the only one. He makes good $$ doing his thing on spotify or wherever the heck he does it. I only see 9-12 minute snippits on youtube. ... And I also like Howard Stern and Bill Maher. Maher is liberal; Stern has been so outspoken about those who won't get vaxxed. He's even sort of celebrated some loudmouth anti vax radio guys dying this week. I wish everybody would be open enough to listen to all types (Rogan, Stern, Maher, Whitlock, Clay Travis, barstool guy, I enjoy ALL OF THEM).
  21. I definitely think people should consider both perspectives as you say. I contend not all anti-vaxxers are wacko conspiracy theorists. I think many anti-vaxxers are normal people with their reasons. People should listen to each other. Instead, I've noticed intolerance. For instance I've noticed if I stray and say anything negative about Fauci or Covid in my posts here, I better duck. Peeps get MAD. It's an opinion, folks. We need to consider all opinions cause I guarantee u I'm not the only one who thinks my way on Covid.
  22. He'll get there. He's still just 26 and for all we know has been really banged up in his year after covid.
  23. He'll blast more than 20 Homers. He tries to hit it out every time up. I think more like 40 homers (Adam Dunnish) and 125 Ks.
  24. I am and it's funny as all get out. I read CNN website and Fox on my phone several times a day and laugh my butt off at the differences. ie what the sites cover on a given day and what they don't. Also the biased wording in the stories, albeit "some" correctly have the word "opinion" on them. Some don't. Suffice it to say both CNN and Fox have agendas and they are hilarious to follow. Try it.
