  1. Why pick on me? I'm consistently optimistic about the Sox and try to explain the position of conservatives who think like me. I'm more an Independent than a Republican. Why do you want me banned so badly? Man, one controversial topic on the board and you freak out over me. Do I need to go on and on about why I feel the vaccine is political? I won't or I will get banned. I could PM you a short essay on it, starting with Trump wanting vaccines when he was president and Joe saying "who would trust that?" To Fauci, who I have some political thoughts about. To the timing of lockdowns being political. Are u serious with the question? A lot of this is political.
  2. Great question on trust. I trust nobody right now except immediate family members and best friends. And that's the problem. Millions of Americans trust nobody. I'm sure most people who refuse the vax trust nobody. I won't make this political but we can count MANY lies from both Repubs and Democrats the past 20 months. Hence I trust nobody. I assess what I'm told and decide how I feel bout it. My decision making process on the vax was: I do know it's TRUE some peeps have died horrible deaths gasping for air, etc. Sounds like Covid is the worst way to die. Though I personally felt the vax could remove me from the planet from a violent reaction to it, I felt the smart play was trusting my pharmacist and a few other smart people I know who told me the smart play is to get vaxxed. I also didn't want to cause deaths to others, but being selfish my main reason was the first. In my mind, despite not trusting anybody but loved ones and close friends, I felt I "probably" would not die a horrid death from COVID if I got vaxxed. And I took my chances on vax concerns. Peace out, I truly wish harm on no one, no matter their political affiliation.
  3. Pretty simple, Pete. I put quote marks around worship cause I couldn't think of another word. I tried, just couldn't think of one so I slapped quote marks around worship. I asked people not to get mad at my post cause that doesn't help anything. People are NOT going to change their minds about masks, vaccines, Fauci, Biden, Trump, China, Wuhan Lab, lockdowns, full football stadiums vs socially distanced churches, etc. We've got to calm down or America is gone. Sorry about 'worship' in the thread. I truly was stumped at the time. No lie.
  4. Leury with the walk off. It gets no better than that vs. Boston.
  5. I agree something is wrong. Read my above post and comment please.
  6. Yeah it's truly baffling. My nephew got J and J and fainted on the spot. He didn't have to go to hospital. And I know some who had side effects from pfizer and moderna both. Now even though I had no problems I'm not looking forward to the moderna booster. Frankly I have no faith in Fauci or the government (let's not argue this; we're so late in the process some 'worship' Fauci some despise him; we're not going to change) and with me being disgusted by the costs for drugs in general I don't trust big pharm. Again it's a political thing: Some 'worship' the government and believe it all if it's their side doing the ruling. Other are extremely wary of the government. That's me now through all this. Here's the crisis insanity in a nutshell. 100,000 fans at a Michigan football game; with pictures of almost all peeps unmasked. How many were vaxxed in stadium? 40 percent? 50? Tons of illegal people crossing the border and not being tested vaxxed (Psaki confirmed in a snarky way) and yet we know about the mask mandates, vaccine mandates for workers and mask mandates for kids in schools. What if the same kid was at the Michigan game? It's all silly at times outrageous at others, handled so poorly and so yes, I DO NOT feel comfortable with the vaccines. In a weird way I sort of applaud those who have not been vaxxed. They have the guts to refuse the jab they feel could harm them. Me? I'm vaxxed baby. p.s. If this post angers you, ask yourself why? I assure you many Americans feel as I do and I'm merely explaining the position of many to you. WE DO NOT TRUST SCIENTISTS OR GOVERNMENT. Yes their motives can be questioned. Think of it this way. If you are shaking in anger reading this post, that's only natural in 2021. Americans despise each other; that's what's going on. It has to change. Peace out.
  7. Add me to the list of peeps who liked this post. Spot on.
  8. Will folks who got the one dose J and J have to get boosters? My relatives who got J and J got it because of the one-shot aspect. I sought out Moderna cause a few Friends of mine had no side effects and also a small pharmacy had them. I initially was going to the drive thru fairgrounds for Pfizer but I got scared cause of the 'cattle call' aspect of it. I felt some non medical person would be doing the jabbing rather than a pharmacist. I still say trust of government and fear of a violently bad reaction to the vaccines play a huge role in all this reluctance.
  9. Most of these replies are too long to read. Just thought I'd say that. Peace.
  10. Not good nuff
  11. America is in trouble. At a crossroads. Politics is EVERYTHING. There's no escape anywhere. Sports are infested with politics and social issues. It's not a game anymore, it's politics. This is the most serious health crisis in American history and it's been all about politics in terms of attacking the problem. Republicans and Democrats despise each other. It's only going to get worse with Trump still a possible candidate which freaks out the Democrats/media and Joe doing a lot of things angering Republicans. Can we come together as a society? All I'm hearing today are threats of lawsuits by businesses against the government over vaccine mandates at work. Lot of hatred. Specifically about the vaccine ... my guess is this thing will lessen only after virtually everybody gets Covid. It hasn't slowed yet and the country is so divided people will not cooperate.
  12. Classic half empty vs. half full stuff in this thread. More compelling message board stuff regarding differences in human nature. I think this post is closer to the truth. Obviously to win the first playoff series we need Rodon, Cease and Lynn to be our starting anchors. Keuchel has to surprise and excel in his playoff starts. Then there's Kopech, the two ex Cubs and Liam. It's not a bad relief setup if Tony uses them right. I'd prefer Tony ride the starters deep into the playoff games. Give me seven innings baby and then ride the hottest of the four bullpen stalwarts. Sox have a chance despite all the injuries. They also could get swept in the first series. Anything's possible. Team health has been abysmal all season.
  13. His stuff from the third inning on screams "hit me." Maybe adrenaline will take over in the postseason and he'll give the Sox six shutout innings in his starts but he appears to be a horrible starter at this time.
  14. Our fanbase is obsessed with resting/sitting players as cures for struggles. I still say as much batting practice as they take, rest is overrated. I still think Vaughn and Sheets will be OK. I guess there's a chance they could turn into Yermin, but I'm not so sure rest is the answer. Yes it's annoying when he and Sheets both turn into instant outs, but I'd quit stressing over sitting guys. If Sox manager and hitting coach and scouts think he's still "ready" for the bigs and still has the tools, let him hit. I think it'll be interesting in the postseason when adrenaline takes control and some of these guys either fail miserably or rake the ball all over the field and over the fence. It's so easy to say a guy should sit after they have a pathetic game or four. p.s. has nothing to do with the thread, but once again we see why Jerry doesn't like to sign pitchers to lucrative deals. Kuechel appears done. He had fairly good stuff last night and still four runs and was hard hit from the fourth til sixth. Ugh. Even Dallas is only a 4-5 inning guy now.
  15. Thanks. I think it's good to hear kind words especially entering the era of the boosters. i'm more apt to not delay my booster when I read nice praise.
  16. It seems like a month ago some people that I know who have been vaxxed and got Covid experienced very few problems. Minor illness, back to work in about 10 days whenever the quarantine period ended. ... Now it seems those vaxxed contracting covid are undergoing much more severe symptoms including the dreaded need for oxygen in hospital. What's going on? As a vaxxed person I don't like the fact vaxxed peeps are getting covid and getting it bad. ... I also don't like reports there was some contaminated third shot moderna in Israel or somewhere that caused major problems. I don't want contaminated vax perhaps causing major problems in my body. Finally ... crowds of over 100,000 fans in some stadiums for football. No masks at said games. ... Correct me if I'm wrong but I feel "many, most?" Americans think Covid will be here forevermore like the flu and basically don't give a s--t anymore. It's like, 'It's here. I'm vaxxed. If I get it I get it." Some peeps like me still really don't wanna get it. Seems silly that last year at this time we had no fans or 10 percent capacity and now covid is actually worse a year later and we're going with 100,000 fans. What.A.World.
  17. Nice win. Leury along with the above mentioned heroes. Nice glove by Jose. Enjoy winning a rare game in Oakland. Good to beat some good teams after angering me with so many losses to KC.
  18. Good to win in Oakland. Makes up for some of those losses to the putrid Royals. Nice win.
  19. Liam is gonna be fine in the playoffs, folks.
  20. Jose baby! Leather.
  21. I've learned to like Leury. I hope he makes the postseason roster. I assume he's earned his MLB pension which is nice. It's not that easy to hit .260 in the big leagues and field OK, too.
  22. I love the Sox and realize this season is the "year of the injury" on the Southside and Sox are doing fine, but it seems as if Sox have been mediocre to blah since the all star break. Since the break, are the Sox even .500? How are they on the road? The whole year I continue to be amazed it's not even a race. Not complaining but it's pretty annoying that Royals won the season series vs. the Sox (or I think they did) when KC is tanking. Now this simple fact can be blamed on Sox injuries, but it's still annoying to lose to those bums as much as the Sox have in a year KC is tanking. Heaven help the Sox in the playoffs. Maybe the team will win it all and I'll be ecstatic.
  23. So what's the deal with the booster, the real facts? Do we look at our cards and sign up eight months after dose No. 2? When do we need it? This booster stuff is gonna be wild. I'm thinking a lot of people will have catching up to do since so many haven't taken doses 1 or 2.
  24. Robert, Abreu and Grandal socked 10 hits. My gosh. Jose regular batting average up to .267. Not bad in the HR/strikeout era. Nice win.
  25. Kansas won its first game in over a year on Friday, beat tiny South Dakota by a couple points. The students stormed the field but did not tear down the goal posts. Q: Embarrassing display or students having fun? Also do any of u midwesterners think Kansas will be accepted into the Big Ten at some point or no way? Peace out.
