Yost was getting credit around here the other day for pitching Herrera and Davis 3 straight days. I think it was the first game or the middle game of their sweep of Cleveland. Asked why he did it, Yost admitted it was a "big game" and a big swing in the standings when you lose to a first place Central Division team. Nothing wrong with a manager "admitting" a series is big. The White Sox chug into every series doing their "season is a marathon" thing and get owned by almost every other Central squad. It's really getting pathetic to watch us lose most games to Central squads. Can hardly believe we took 2 of 3 from Detroit recently.

Nothing unusual about that game. Pretty predictable. Q can't ever get run support. It's almost unbelievable. Stranding the runner at second with one out in the ninth ... you knew a good team like the Indians would win it at home in the bottom of the inning. Nate served it right in there and he put it over the fence. Big deal. They got a better team than the White Sox and a better manager even though some on here don't think managers matter.

The Shields acquistion is pretty mind boggling in retrospect. He has shown nothing this season and we get him and predictably his first two outings are worse than any Erik Johnson outings (with the Sox; he had a lousy start with SD). If Sox are gonna throw away money like that, think how they could have spent that money better last offseason. Shields is even worse than Peavy right now IMO. Some even on trips with the boys to Vegas, etc. They simply cheat. As often as they can. They also are good providers and good dads. Do I approve of this? No. I even told the one good friend he needs to get help. He went to the psychiatrist once and returned a second visit and said the guy had forgotten half the stuff he said in the first session so he'd never go back!! The other group of guys I hang out with would never cheat on their wives. They are great guys and loyal. Finally my brother's best friend one night came crying to my brother cause his wife up and left him, no warning, cause she had cheated with another guy. She also stole all the money from their bank account, etc. So women do it too. I think a bachelor party with strippers can be OK if the guy handles it like a guy I know. He had a bachelor party at a strip club and mainly was the center of attention. He mostly chatted up the waitress, who was hot. he got a few lap dances but did not go VIP and all the lap dances he got were right there in front of everybody else. He didn't go to some corner like some people do, etc. Pretty innocent. He also got s***faced drunk.

Let's also add what 2 players from former Sox teams would you like on this team. If they were still in their prime. You can pick only one superstar and one role player. I'd say Frank Thomas and Chet Lemon. Thomas for obvious reasons. He was selective at the plate and yet a slugger. Lemon would rule centerfield like nobody's business and also hit the ball hard. My third might be Ozzie Guillen, though he swung at too many pitches. He was a solid shortstop/hitter though.

Laugh all you want. I'd love Kinsler, Zobrist and Lindor. My fourth would be Granderson.
