  1. Sox got the leadoff hitter on and did nothing. I'd suspect this is the inning the A's put this baby away.
  2. Those frat guys should be ejected now. Somebody should tweet it out to the Sox front office. You are not allowed to do that. That's an offense that would get you kicked out of the Cell if anybody noticed.
  3. Boy that is bad hitting by Avi there. Really pathetic, 4-6-3.
  4. Pound a single between first and second, Avi. No 6-4-3 bs.
  5. Now pound the 3-2 pitch.
  6. It's 3-0. Take 2 pitches.
  7. QUOTE (1dog @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 04:14 AM) The bros are drunk. They think they are at a frat party. Or a Cubs game. Their parents must be proud watching them on TV.
  8. I'd love if Flowers could become a star and flip off all the naysayers, including me. He seems like a fierce competitor who often sucks.
  9. Tyler baby!
  10. QUOTE (harkness @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 02:54 AM) Sox 9-25 since August 1st I can't help but keep thinking about Hawk saying this could not happen with this year's team. It's a cliche, but a cliched person might say "this team has quit." It definitely has no magic anymore. That 9-25 mark is scary bad.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 02:44 AM) Abreu looks gassed. He's been great, but I don't think anyone would have guessed that Conor would have more homers after the ASB than him That last at bat was perplexing. He really had no chance against that junk thrown his way. I still love the guy, though.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 02:06 AM) I am no Wilkins fan, but I agree. He has had some pitches to hit, but I don't think it is a lack of talent that has him off. Eduardo Perez was tslking the other night , and he said the easiest time to hit as a major leaguer is your first couple of weeks because they don't have scouting reports on you. But I think you can throw that out the window for some who are understandably overwhelmed. Semien, Sanchez and Wilkins have combined for 1 walk in 94 AB since being recalled. What is with these hitters who will not walk? The Royals are not going to win the division, in large part because they never draw walks and get those free runs. Weird.
  13. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 02:30 AM) Wow.. fans really giving it to Viciedo. Good. They should be doing a lot of booing the rest of this season. That's the Dunn we know. He should have swung at that. It was hittable.
  14. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 07:29 PM) They wont start contending till 2016, 2015 I expect them to go .500 What changes will they make to improve enough to be .500? My fear is it's another wasted year of Sale.
  15. Nice of Abreu to think that way, but good luck leading this lineup and defensive collection of stiffs.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 7, 2014 -> 08:45 PM) Hahn has an unbelievable amount of work to do to get this roster close to contention-caliber. It's been an extremely disappointing second half of the season. There are so many bad players and so many weak areas, you said it all.
  17. What a disgusting series. Sox obviously have quit. Very sad to see this proud organization in such a pathetic state.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 7, 2014 -> 08:17 PM) In the 8th inning of game 3 of the series, they have given up 6 runs all series, yet look like they will get swept. How are they going to sell more than 5,000 season tickets for next year? The culture of losing has engulfed the South Side.
  19. Aside from a bomb every once in a while, what good is viciedo? Terrible at bat. Slams his bat on strike two. LOL. What a train wreck.
  20. Boy the White Sox stink. Please sell the team, Jerry. Organization needs to start over. I cannot believe somehow the Sox won a World Series. I'm so happy they did, but it's impossible to believe.
  21. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 6, 2014 -> 12:44 PM) You're right, I'd rather he rest up and be 100% for Spring Training next year. I worship Paulie, I'm just saying there's no reason to play with a broken hand when it's your last season.
  22. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 6, 2014 -> 06:17 AM) No he doesn't he has no knowledge. I think people in the game of baseball would disagree with your statement. He has knowledge. Second guessing moves is so easy. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 6, 2014 -> 06:23 AM) Why does he deserve that? he deserves nothing but his paycheck for his service as manager. Hopefully it ends soon - he's the worst the Sox have had since Gutteridge in 1970. He's not going anywhere. He got extended during this season didn't he? I think the GM gets a lot less blame than he deserves. How would you like to manage a team with this little talent? Robin is OK. Not great, but OK.
  23. QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 6, 2014 -> 07:13 AM) Dude, the resident doctor has spoken. His words hold more merit than your drivel. It said he's out at least a week. Why play again?
  24. You've got to be impressed with Joan Rivers' life. The lady was working 300 days a year at age 81 and again this calendar year. She was making more money at 80 in a year than a lot of us on here will come close to making in a lifetime. She stayed relevant til the end. I heard her Showtime special last year was pretty damn funny. She still is pretty funny at standup as an 80 year old comic. She seemed like kind of a b****, but I'd prefer to describe her as the consummate old lady from New York set in her ways. I watched her interview of Johnny Carson's former lawyer on youtube from last year and she's a good interviewer, too. She was a very talented lady is what I'm trying to say and her bank account proves it.
  25. If he's got a fractured hand, there's really no reason to play any more. The Royals likely will be playing for keeps that series and it's stupid for Paulie to risk hurting it more. Sure if he's healthy it'd be nice to play all four games and see if he can hit a homer on his final at bat. But why risk it? I guess if he wants to risk it, it's his body. But with this being a terrible team going nowhere and no reason to play, I'd just retire now if I was Paulie.
