I can write Lip’s “This Day in Sox History” today. Oct. 8, 1983-Tito Fucking Landrum Oct. 8, 1993-Sox beat Toronto 6-1 in game 3 of the ALCS. I was so drunk until a couple of years ago I thought we won 8-1.

I’ll get to see the first 45 minutes then should be able to jump back in around 6. Hopefully we’re up by about 27 when I get back on. I’m so freakin’ nervous/excited I can’t eat and just thinking about winning today chokes me up.

I would like the Sox to avoid playing a game on my birthday for the 61st time in 63 years. Sweep these hitless dipshits!

Just got home. I think I’ll spend the next three hours reading and watching everything I can about these Sox. I’m speechless. What a win!

Why wouldn’t you bring in Miller to face Churio with two on and two out in the seventh just to bring him in to start the 8th. The series was on the line. Those four or five pitches were a bridge too far. They got away with it but that’s poor managing.

I know this is best to death but the Brewers don’t have enough pop to win consistently in the post-season. It’s hard to manufacture runs against one pitcher after another throwing at max effort. I want them to win but I think the Padres win this series. Happy to be wrong.

Not to mention it was probably going foul. Hitter certainly didn’t react like he hit a homer. Pham probably doesn’t pimp that ball at all.

Brewers close it at 65 degrees. Tonight was colder than that. It would have been closed.

Christ…I thought this was the 8th inning. I’m not sure I can make it thought nine more outs.

I’m a TickPick guy. Have used that App for the last couple of years. I messed up ordering tickets for a play on there once…right date, wrong city…they credited me for my error. Nothing but positive experiences.

Interesting convo. Coached HS hoops in WI for a long time. Lost in the game to go yo state three times in four appearances over five years. The one time we won that game, we won the whole thing. The school we beat in the state semis has been there something like three years in a row and four out of six but never even played for a state title. Their coach, a friend, told me he’d trade all their state appearances for our our gold ball. That’s the 2005 Sox. I wouldn’t trade that title for more success but no title over the last 20 years.

I’m about half in the bag. I’m hoping the Sox play on my birthday for the third time in my lifetime. The first one wasn’t so good…Tito Fucking Landrum. Second was fine. Third could be epic as we close out the series at home!

After the Celtics won in Philly for the first time in a bunch of games in the post-season Kevin McHale said “eventually chimps on roller skates would win here.” Tomorrow is chimps on roller skates day for the Sox.
