  1. - I thought that was against Japanese people??? And I have found a whole bunch of these things just offensive for all sorts of reasons: - That is obiously an attack on our legal system. - Promoting an unhealthy lifestyle of alcoholism. :puke - An attack on people with eating disorders - Promotion of S&M - More of that alcoholism thing. You would think we were Cub fans...
  2. Is Nermal "The Worlds Cutest Cat" in the movie? I love Bill, but this just seems like a wrong film. Garfield doesn't even look as fat as he should be.
  3. From cwsox: http://www.soxtalk.com/index.php?showtopic...ndpost&p=367194
  4. That is one of the best lines I have yet to read on any message board!!!
  5. But, correct me if I am wrong, our Nation has been built on many political parties for 200+ years now, correct? So, how can Republican be right, or Democrat be right? Or Green party or whoever? Aren't the parties kind of a moot point, when in all reality it has to do with the individual, and after many years it is the collection of the thoughts, ideas, and actions of many that have made our country what it is?
  6. Actually you could throw a rock at any Punk band in the 80's and be pretty confident in them doing a song against him. But then my buddies and I had a joke about how we were going to write a song against the President, and on the lyric sheet just have a blank with a (insert current Presidents name here) line underneath where the Presidents name would go. But Naked Raygun...ahhhhh. At first I didn't like them, then I went and saw them, and then I really liked them! Ya gotta love a band with a "Free s***" segment in the show! I got free suckers with "Naked Raygun" on the stems. I wish I had seen the "sell out" show. I guess they went on stage, said that people had accused them of selling out. So they checked the books, and people were right! They had sold out buy something like $212.00 and proceeded to throw 212 dollar bills into the audience, all stamped with a red "Naked Raygun" logo!
  7. RIP Mr. President. He was a controversial President, and hundreds of Punk bands had their fare share of use with his name. But it was at that time I realized that no President will ever be the ideal person for the whole country. I always liked the guy. It felt right turning on the TV to see the President speak, and seeing that person. I haven't felt like that since him. He may have scared us at times with his no BS attitude, and his straight-forward speeches, but I would give almost anything to have a person like him in charge of the country again.
  8. Plus the guy is just friggin' GREAT fun to watch throw!
  9. And Lord knows the Dogs would be generic and the beer Keystone Light. :puke
  10. Fine, let him. He ain't doing it here, and I'd rather him do that for somebody in the NL or a different division, than blowing wins for us. I don't understand why Shingo isn't out there. The guy has a long success history in Japan as a closer, right? Koch has had one successful year as a closer? Gee, yeah, makes sense to keep him out there over Shingo. Money says that Ozzie STILL says Koch is his man though. :puke
  11. That would friggin' kill me. Ichiro is easily one of my favorite players, and whereas it would be nice to see him play whenever I wanted, I would still hate to see him on that side of town. BUT, if the Cubs getting Ichiro means them booting Sosa to the curb, then I am all for it! I could go for no more Sosa news!!! :sosasucks
  12. I just bounced over to the Cubs site to check the score and such. Ummm, was Fogg drunk when they did that headshot or what???
  13. Heh, two threads should surely get him rocked. Or does that cancel out the jinx???
  14. Hope I didn't do the much feared jinx there.
  15. But would KC deal within the division like that?
  16. We could have Frank be our 5th starter for one of the days, he can't be that much worse, and the end results would be the same as we've had all year.
  17. See, you have to plan it right! I'm also having a neighborhood get together, but I'm doing it in my yard, so I can just keep an eye on the game from my seat on the back patio! Some fine brews, good company, and the Sox, how can ya go wrong???
  18. That's a GREAT article! It came from the Tribune? Wow, they actually bring Hawk through in a cool way, and explain quite a bit about him. How can you argue with his silence during the games when he explains it like that?
  19. A buddy and I were talking the other day and we both got to wondering this. What was the fastest recorded speed for a strike? I know I could probably find it someplace on the ol' 'net, but ya know, I figure one of you would probably know this one pretty quick, and it is a chance to show Hawk Harrelson that you DO know something about the game!!!
  20. Harry was the one I always had a problem with. I am O.K. with him now, but back when he would do the Bonaduce show, and show up on all of the other guys shows, good lord that man was more annoying almost than Chet Chitchat!
  21. The Huge show??? Ugh, he was the worst thing to hit radio next to that moron Mancow. Arrogant self righteous jerks.
  22. I'll go one better: M,J & H: Best RADIO show in Chicago, sports or non-sports. They all work extremely well together, have very good sources, admit when they are in error, even if it is many days - weeks after they made the original statement. Just an all around great show. I personally like Mike and Mike. I was a big AM1000 fan before the buy-out and was devasted to hear them going all sports. Was never a big sports fan, outside of baseball, and I still am not. At all. But Mike and Tony were great in the beginning, and I really liked Mike Gullic (sic, that's how much I know about sports). Once Greenie moved in, the show got better. I disagree with the statement about them just saying what everybody else says, I think there are some good opinions on there, and some boneheaded ones. But I believe that they truely are their true opinions.
  23. Ah, cool then, I guess. I haven't seen one for the Cubs. Oh, wait, I don't watch Cubs games. Thanks for the clarification though.
  24. I still find it amazing that the Sox continue to run the commercial with the burglary of the house, and then the burglars find the bobblehead Sox figure, so they leave house with the apology note and the "Go Sox!" written on the note. Now, I don't want to be a baby here, but with all the talk about the fights lately, and the negative image the Sox fans have for being crooks, isn't that commercial just playing into the negative image? I don't cry when I see the commercial, but I just get a little bewildered by the organization for letting a commercial like that air. Maybe they need to make one where they find a Cubs bobblehead and destroy the heck out of the house even more. That could help out the image even more!
