  1. Kind of nice to read that, thanks! Makes me lose a little disliking for him. But the fact that my wife drools over the guy anytime he is on TV drives me up the wall. But there is no doubt the guy can play pretty good, especially when he is needed. In the end of this Series though, I will be happy if the Marlins win because they have been considered the underdogs the whole time, even though they have a record that says otherwise, and they have Ozzie and Pudge. I will be O.K. with it if the Yankees win, because no matter what anybody says, they are a heck of a good ball club, they know how to win. So I guess I just hope to see some great friggin' baseball!
  2. I don't agree with that being the worst part, but it is still pretty friggin' bad. For me the worst part of it all is that I will once again be cheering on a NL team. Last time I did that was the Diamondbacks, and who were they playing? I see a trend...
  3. Fine, ruin it for me. Thanks a lot for that reality check.
  4. This is kind of fun! I like the fact that they are being as closed mouthed as they are. Kind of like awaiting Christmas morning!
  5. You know what though, I have always felt a little bit sorry for Cub fans in general.
  6. Yeah, I actually screamed "OZZIE" when I saw him in the corner of my TV screen jumping around after the win last night! And yes, tonights game should be a doozy, and I plan on being parked on the couch for the whole blasted thing!
  7. Yeah, lets not forget that multi-million dollar professional athletes screwed up greater than some guy in the stands did. He pays BIG money to go to a HUGE game, and a ball flies in his direction and he tried to grab it. You really can't blame the guy for trying for a play-off ball! Does anybody else find it funny that his last name is the same name as Bart Simpsons superhero alter-ego? We need a picture of him in a "Bartman" superhero costume swooping down from the skies pulling the ball from Alou!
  8. OUCH!!! That might be a little rough!!!
  9. They are taking them out like crazy. I would say the last ten rows, at least, are gone from the entire upperdeck. Not sure why we are kept in the dark. San Fran has renamed their park SBC park. They sure are spending enough dough on ballpark names, don't they own US Cellular "Kept in the dark.."? It was in the paper... just not online. Yeah, but has anybody actually seen in print (hardcopy OR internet) saying just what exactly they are doing? Just odd that we start seeing pictures of seats being torn up and the White Sox page doesn't even acknowldge it, and there has been no mention of it on the news. I understand that JR wants to not take the spotlight away from the "other team" at this time, but he has to realize that there are some Sox fans out there who only truely care about news pertaining to his team, and not the other one, and that ANY news from our camp is enough to get us through the dark days, that have suddenly become oh so very bright. Yea. There have been several stories about removing rows, building a extended roof, a HR porch in RF, etc, etc.. Several of them have been commented, at length, here on this site. Check the archives. I'll do that. I have only been aware of this site for about...what is my registration date? That long. I'll look into those archives though.

  11. Can we NOT talk about the Cubs until sometime next year when we face them or their team does something really stupid?
  12. Damn, I might have to change my name. That's a pretty cool offer from Florida. You would think that maybe our Governor would also pitch in something.
  13. Not only that, but even Dusty said in his conference that they have built a great foundation for "next year"! So he is fitting in just fine with the "Wait until next year" slogan of the Laughable Losers!
  14. Fox new has the headline of CUBS HEARTBREAKER!!!
  15. So we're into the 8th? We got out with one run, eh? Man, this is really rough. I think I should go do some stuff around the house to keep my mind off of it all.
  16. f*** YEAH!!! IT WORKED!!! Just like last night, I turned off the game, turned on a movie, got done working out, and the same f***ing thing!!! GO MARLINS!!! NOBODY LET ME WATCH THE GAMES THAT REALLY COUNT ANYMORE!!! I ain't turning it back on until a little while from now!!! Oh yeah, and Billy Corgan sucks, I am proud to say he is a Cub fan!!!
  17. My 6 year old daughter wanted to wear her Sox jacket to school today. With as ugly as the world was today, I had to talk her out of it. I felt terrible doing that, but any other day I would have let her.
  18. See, that will make it a better night either way!!! Thanks for pointing that out to us!
  19. Wood just keeps getting stronger though. I have a feeling he will be a David Wells work horse kind of guy.
  20. Last thing I heard on the TV though before I shut it off was that the Cubs will go to Zambrano. I would rather them choose Clement. But ya know, just get into Zambonies head, and he will f*** it all up for them. I take it that since nobody is talking about the game we are still at a 5-3 score? No, please, don't tell me. I want to be surprised when I turn it back on.
  21. It't not the end of the world, but it isn't good for White Sox fandom, and it can only hurt the attendance that much more. Plus, we will have to bow to the Cubs fans for truely having the superior team, and our 4 out of 6 will mean s*** if they can flaunt a Series ring. And who exactly is our best player any way?
  22. Alou did come to the defense of Steve Bartman though saying that he just wanted a souveneir and that nobody thinks that snagging a foul ball will affect the outcome of the game. Which I thought was pretty classy despite his tirade right after the event happened. Yeah, but the tirade did more damage than anything he said afterwards could have repaired. If he had condemned the man, or made a stupid remark like Lord Baker did, then the city would have hunted the guy down right then and there for sure. Alou said what had to be said. But yes, it was nice to hear him speak rationally on the topic.
  23. Well, the Marlins are in this thing. "We" are actually sitting around spread out across this country (and others) watching it on the TV trying to figure out what happened.
